It's about to get very hectic in Dalaran on the PTR, as Blizzard will be doing a very special stress test this Friday, with Free For All PvP being enabled all over the city! But wait, that's not all, as you'll also be able to attack all NPCs! So get in line in front of Nomi in both Alliance and Horde inns, because he's going to be a VERY popular target.

In this week's PTR Development Notes, we mentioned that we were planning to stress test some new server technology we're rolling out in Patch 7.2. Initially, our plan was to have everyone fight Withered J'im, but we wanted to come up with something a little more exciting to make it more fun to participate in.

So, this Friday (March 10th), we'll be turning Dalaran into a free-for-all PvP zone on the 7.2 PTR. You'll be able to attack anyone and anything you want - both players and NPCs alike. Oh, and you'll have the same buff mechanic used in the Black Rook Rumble world quest: every time you kill a player, you'll get a stacking increase to your health and damage (but reduced healing taken).

We're expecting this to be absolute mayhem... which is great, because we need to put our servers through the ringer! And since events like this are the sort of thing we can only do on the PTR, we're really hoping to have as many players participating as possible.

This event will run from 3 PM to 5 PM Pacific time on Friday. If you'd like to join us, please make sure you have the PTR downloaded and your character copied over ahead of time - while we want to stress test as much as possible, the PTR character copy system is likely to break in the process, so make sure you have a character ready to go!

This is totally something they should do from time to time on live servers.  It would bring back the memories of when guilds used to drag world bosses into Orgrimmar and other major cities.  Or remember then time when hunter pets were killing everyone with the plague?  Everyone has gotten used to the game as it is, however there's no "WTF???!!?!!??1111" factor anymore... I hope i'm not alone in saying that I miss the days of seeing the bones of the fallen littered all over major cities.  Hell I don't even see For the Horde! For the Horde! or For the Alliance! For the Alliance! groups anymore.  Bring back the mass chaos, let the world revel in it's destruction, let the streets be covered in bones and run red in rivers of blood!... well maybe just turn Dal into a FFA pvp area on live servers for a short time.. that'd be fun!

Blizzard added research advancements to the game in this week's Battle for Azeroth Beta Build 26871. We have six tiers of research that provide various boons in the new expansion.
An introductory quest has been added for research advancement in BfA. The Horde quest's called Adapting Our Tactics and the quest giver's Eitrigg.

We have six tiers to research in Battle for Azeroth and here's a breakdown of the Order Hall talents:
Tier 1 (Research Time: 4 Hr, Cost: 15 War Resources)
Seafarer's Hearth (Research Time: 4 Hr, Cost: 15 War Resources)
Harness the power of the sea, reducing the cooldown of your Hearthstone by 40% when used in Kul Tiras and Zandalar. Swift Landing (Research Time: 4 Hr, Cost: 15 War Resources)
Capture the momentum from your recent flight path, increasing your mounted movement speed by 20% for 5 minutes upon landing (Research Time: 4 Hr, Cost: 15 War Resources)
Tier 2 (Research Time: 1 Day, Cost: 100 War Resources)
      Upgraded Troop Barracks
Construct a larger barracks for your army, increasing the maximum number of troops you can house by 2. Troop Portal Network
Open a portal for transportation of troops from Orgrimmar, allowing troops to be recruited instantly.
Tier 3 (Research Time: 1 Day, Cost: 150 War Resources, Complete expeditions to five different islands.)
      Island Plunderer
Learn the pirate secrets of spotting treasure, granting you a chance to receive additional Seafarer's Dubloons on Island Expeditions. Island Archeologist
Learn the secrets of ancient civilizations, increasing the duration of effects from shrines by 20%.
Tier 4 (Research Time: 1 Day, Cost: 200 War Resources, Requires at least five War Champions.)
      World Azerite Detector
Construct an Azerite detector on your ship, granting you a chance to find additional Azerite when completing World Quests. Local Transportation
Upgrade your Flight Master's Whistle, allowing you to call for a quick flight back to Zuldazar when using your whistle directly next to a flight master on Zandalar or Kul Tiras.

Tier 5 (Research Time: 1 Day, Cost: 250 War Resources, Requires a Warfront victory against three unique enemy Commanders.)
      Warfront Resourcer
Learn more efficient ways to gather resources under pressure, increasing resource gathering speed by 15% while fighting in a Warfront. Warfront General
Learn how to best inspire allies in combat, increasing the effectiveness of nearby troops by 15% while fighting in a Warfront.
Tier 6 (Research Time: 1 Day, Cost: 500 War Resources, Requires Alliance/Horde Diplomat)
      Horde Ambassador
Open up additional lines of trade with your new Allies, granting additional War Resources from emissary quests.

Mole Machine (Dark Iron Dwarf racial) has been enabled on Battle for Azeroth Beta. It creates a mole machine that teleports you and your party members to Ironforge or Stormwind. The spell has a 30-minute cooldown.
The mole machine makes you appear in the Dwarven District (near Blacksmithers), if you teleport to Stormwind. When you decide to teleport to Ironforge, you will appear at the Gates of Ironforge in Dun Morogh (Spirit Healer location).

In this article, we're taking a look at content worth finishing before Battle for Azeroth goes live.
Ahead of the Curve: Argus the Unmaker & Cutting Edge: Argus the Unmaker
Both achievements will be removed once the pre-patch goes live. If you don't have the achievement yet, the first round of Mythic Argus nerfs has already been deployed to live servers, so defeating Argus on Mythic difficulty should be easier now.
      The Chosen Achievement
The achievement will become unobtainable in Battle for Azeroth.
Placeholder for tweet 1008845805501837316 A Challenging Look (Mage Tower Artifact Apppearance)
Blizzard confirmed that the Mage Tower will be permanently up at some point before Battle for Azeroth goes live, but they did not clarify if they meant the pre-patch or the actual expansion. Given how Azerite traits no longer work on 8.0 PTR, it's safe to assume we're going to see an announcement regarding the permanent Mage Tower in the coming days.
      Field Medic Achievement
First Aid will be removed in Battle for Azeroth and all achievements related to the Profession will become Feats of Strength.
      Brawler's Guild Removal
Brawler's Guild will be on hiatus with the release of BfA, but it's very likely that we'll see it return later on in Patch 8.1 or 8.1.5. Don't forget to get the Brawler's Burly Basilisk mount!
      Strand of Ancients Removal
The battleground will be removed in Battle for Azeroth. Achievements will turn into Feats of Strength (Master of Strand of the Ancients).
      Kirin Tor Summoning Crystal Mount
Violet Spellwing will not be available soon. Finish the "Blood of a Titan" quest by looting Blood of the Unmaker from Argus on Heroic difficulty or higher.
      Legion Mythic Difficulty Mounts
As is tradition, the drop rate of Mythic difficulty raid mounts will be reduced to 1% when Battle for Azeroth goes live. Legion only introduced two Mythic mounts to the game:
Gul'dan (Fiendish Hellfire Core) Argus (Shackled Ur'zul)

With Battle for Azeroth just two months away, Blizzard has updated the old Legion login screen with a new one in this week's Beta Build 26871.
The background is comprised of a sunlit sky and birds flying over the walls of Lordaeron, while in the forefront, we see various artifacts that solidify Battle for Azeroth's main theme -- the upcoming faction conflict.
The main title music has been previewed earlier and you can listen to the whole track below.
      Blizzard (Source)
With every expansion, our musical mages reach deep down into their souls and summon a tableau of sound to accompany your next adventure. Building upon a variety of musical themes from World of Warcraft over the years, composer Glenn Stafford has infused his magic into the new main title for Battle for Azeroth, “Before the Storm.” Sit back, relax, and let the music carry you into the heart of Azeroth.
“Before the Storm” was composed and arranged by Glenn Stafford; features additional music by Neal Acree, Sam Cardon, Clint Bajakian, and David Arkenstone; and includes classic World of Warcraft themes by Jason Hayes.

A short batch today as Battle for Azeroth approaches, focusing on Antorus Mythic. It's all about the final boss, Argus the Unmaker, nerfing his health and two abilities.
      June 19 (source)
Antorus, The Burning Throne Sargeras' Rage and Fear damage reduced by 15%. Argus' health reduced by 3% in Mythic Difficulty.
