A look into what it's going to take to get the new appearances, including the solo challenge and its cost.

Blizzard's official preview of the new artifact appearances has arrived, but it's only a taste, while we have the full list and images of all appearances right here! They also explain what it will take to actually get the new looks, including the new solo challenge, which will cost you Nethershards per attempt after the first.

Artifact Weapons have been proven to be powerful tools against the Burning Legion. With the release of patch 7.2, we are not only adding an Artifact questline to unlock new traits, but we’re also adding a new Artifact challenge appearance. But, you’re going to have to earn it — the hard way.

‘You Must Be This Tall’

To be able to take on the challenge before you and earn your new Artifact appearance, you’re going to need to meet a few requirements first. You must be level 110, purchase all 35 of the ranks for your Artifact weapon, and complete the questline to unlock access to the four new traits available with patch 7.2.

A Towering Achievement

Returning to the Broken Shore has a lot to offer including new structures that open additional benefits for those adventuring through the island. For those who plan to earn their Challenge Appearance the Mage Tower is going to be an important building to invest your Legionfall War Supplies in. When the tower is active and you’ve met all of the requirements, a new quest will become available to you. This quest is a continuation of your Class Order campaign and will ask you to take care of a little unfinished business via a solo encounter. You’ll need to face a powerful foe to earn your new appearance — but it’s not going to be easy.

This encounter will provide players with the opportunity to show their mastery of their class with a solo skill challenge. There are 7 different challenges available which are tailored to your class role. Each role’s challenge will vary slightly whether it’s healing a group of support npcs, tanking and keeping your group npcs from being killed, or straight dps to kill the boss. There’s no gear requirement, but you’re going to want to invest in getting the best gear you possibly can if you’re going to walk out of the encounter with a brand-new look for your weapon.

The Cost of Success

The first time you get the quest, you’ll be able to enter the encounter for free. If you fail—and there’s a good chance you will—the next (and the next) time is going to cost. If you’ve been active within the Broken Shore, you’ll have started to accumulate Nethershards. You can use these Nethershards to purchase additional chances at the encounter. The Mage Tower is active for three days before it’s destroyed, so time is limited. If you’re determined to give it a good run each time the tower is available, you might want to spend some time under the shadow of the Sentinax to gather as many Nethershards as you can. Success with earning your Artifact weapon’s Challenge Appearance is going to cost — but bragging rights will be yours when you do succeed.

Get the Look

These appearances have been inspired by previous class questlines that led to weapons like Anathema/Benediction, and Rhok’delar. No grouping is required—or allowed—and completing the challenge will reward a truly distinctive appearance.

Good luck out there! You’re going to need it.

I like that they are basically doing the warlock green fire thing for everyone, I just hope its not as challenging. Clearly they expect us to fail a couple times, but hopefully not hundreds like my green fire did >_> There is challenging and then there is soul shattering, challenge please

I do quite like that they're allowing us to unlock more appearances for the artifact weapons, but I sorta feel a little lethargic to go through all this trouble when there's a huge possibility that we'll lose the artifact weapon in the next expansion. If I'm wrong, and I really do hope that I am and instead the weapons are here to stay, then I'll go all out and unlock everything.

At the beginning of legion they said all artifact appearances you unlock will be usable in the future as transmog options :)

Ahhh, ok then, I must've missed that. In which case, that's not so bad. Thanks a lot :)

yup :D

also i must note the outlaw one confuses my soul. it's very strange to see someone dual wielding rapiers, while not completely absent from history, it certainly looks funny from a fencing perspective :)

If you plan on buying the physical War Within Collector's Edition and live in Europe, you're going to have a bad time!
Blizzard has ceased distributing WoW Collector's Editions through retailers with the release of Dragonflight, making the Blizzard Store the only place to buy them. However, the shipping costs could be a dealbreaker for many collectors eager to acquire the latest edition for the upcoming expansion.
Reddit user katamai from Serbia posted a screenshot of their order, revealing that the shipping fees exceed the cost of the box itself—280 Euros for shipping compared to 200 Euros for the box, totaling 480 Euros.

Additionally, Emi, a follower on our Facebook page, reported a shipping cost of 99 Euros to Romania, nearly ten times what it costs to ship to the UK.

A practical workaround might be to order the Collector's Edition to a UK address and then use a shipping service to forward it to your address in Europe, potentially saving a considerable amount of money.
How much does it cost to ship the box to your country?

We've already talked about and taken a first look at the Delve-specific mount coming in the War Within, but now it's time to check out all of its customization options!
LeystTV has delved into the mount and shown off all the options, from the different colors to nose, wing, thruster, and top customizations, with glider, blimp, helicopter looks and more! There's even different versions of Horde and Alliance decals to choose from!

And these may not even be all the options present at launch, not to mention new ones Blizzard might add with later patches, making this one of the cooler mounts in the game.
