Impressive Inky Black Potion Screenshots

Recommended Posts

Well, it seems the new craze in the screenshotting world is the Inky Black PotionInky Black Potion, darkening nights everywhere. And WoW's nights definitely need darkening, as it's sometimes almost hard to tell that it's the middle of the night. But no fear, the intrepid imgur posters over at r/wow have it covered with a lot of really great images, so let's get started.

First off, a slow intro, with a spooky forest you actually can believe you could get lost in:

Keeping with the spooky theme, it's time for some cosmic horror, as Vashj'ir goes from massive annoyance to possible gate to terror:

And then it's on to the really beautiful aspects of the potion, showing off some truly great lighting (and lightning):

Throne of Thunder was always impressive looking, but it's on a whole new level now:

Skyhold get a lot more impressive as well:

We can't really a have a "pretty screenshot"-off without Suramar, now can we:

Not exactly what you'd call beautiful, but Kezan does have a certain charm to it at night:

This next one is a bit of a cheat, as it also uses SweetFX to make it double amazing:

And to finish, it's time to go back home:

There's certainly many more great screenshots out there, and you could take some yourself - just head on over to the Darkmoon Faire, poke Rona Greenteeth and buy yourself a bunch (but definitely buy a lot, because AH prices are crazy even now while the faire is till in town).

It's just dumb they'd make it a consumable that you can only buy one week out of every month.

I mean sure, I can buy up a supply to keep in my bank and carry a stack around at all times to make sure I'd always have enough for using outside of Darkmoon Faire week, but why not just make it a toy with little to no CD?

why not just have a proper nightcycle like every other mmo.. dont know why we should need a stupid potion or toy just to get a thing that should be in the game naturally..

The Vanilla WoW had this feature but it was not done so good (guess due to older version of g. engine). Then it changed so that your day-time and WoW time are the same, and now it is simply day and day-like time.

I personally would like to see it as a rotation with 6h/6h or 8h/8h

To me it seems like a graphical test for the current engine and in the future maybe we will see that.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
