Our final preview covers the Deceiver himself! Kil'jaeden is back and this time, he has legs, so we can safely assume that things will get pretty serious!

Kil'jaeden

Since striking the bargain that chased the draenei into the stars, Kil'jaeden believed the Legion could not be stopped. Yet, none of his deceptions have prevented you from reaching this critical moment. Infuriated that Sargeras' promise of victory has never come to pass, the demon lord prepares to face you himself, for a final battle that will shape Azeroth's destiny forever.

Overview

Players engage Kil'jaeden on his command ship, engaging both him and the Shadow Reflections of their comrades' souls that he turns to his will.

At 80% health, Kil'jaeden takes to the sky, launching a punishing barrage of attacks on players, after which he re-engages the players with greater power.

At 40% health, Kil'jaeden wraps the platform in darkness, limiting players' vision to a short range around them, and summons several Shadowsouls. Players must find Illidan in the darkness, who grants the players his sight, and use it to defeat the Shadowsouls and dispel the darkness.

Once players have escaped the darkness, Kil'jaeden arrives at Argus and unleashes his ultimate attack - Darkness of a Thousand Souls. Players must use the rifts that he opens to absorb the missiles from Darkness of a Thousand Souls to avoid being killed by them.

      • rJnHTBu.png Illidan's Sightless GazeIllidan's Sightless Gaze - Illidan grants you his sightless vision, allowing you to see enemies in the darkness - but also overwhelming you with fel power, inflicting 250,000 Fire damage every 1 sec. for 20 sec.

Stage Three: Darkness of A Thousand Souls

  • Darkness of a Thousand SoulsDarkness of a Thousand Souls - Fires deadly bolts of Shadow at all members of the raid, inflicting 1,800,000 Shadow damage immediately and 450,000 Shadow damage every 2 sec. for the remainder of the encounter to all players hit. If a player is standing close enough to a rift created by Tear Rift to be affected by Gravity Squeeze, the missiles from Darkness of a Thousand Souls will instead be harmlessly sucked into the rift.
  • Demonic ObeliskDemonic Obelisk - Creates Demonic Obelisks positioned around the platform which detonate in a cross of fel energy after a short time, inflicting 2,500,000 Fire damage to all affected players and knocking them back.
  • Tear RiftTear Rift - Tears a rift in reality, pulling in all players and inflicting Gravity Squeeze on any players who are too close to the rift. Also, the missiles from Darkness of a Thousand Souls will be sucked into the rift rather than hitting the targeted player if that player is standing close enough to the rift to be affected by Gravity Squeeze. Finally, rifts will also pull the pools of flame created by Flaming Orbs to them. When they reach the edge of the platform near the rift, the rift will suck in the flames, reducing the size of the flame patch over time.
    • Gravity SqueezeGravity Squeeze - Inflicts 600,000 Shadow damage every 1 sec. The amount inflicted increases the longer the player remains affected by Gravity Squeeze. The missiles from Darkness of a Thousand Souls will be sucked into the rift rather than hitting them if players are standing close enough to the rift to be affected by Gravity Squeeze.
  • Flaming OrbFlaming Orb - Creates an orb of fire at a targeted location that follows the player closest to it when it is created. When the Flaming Orb impacts with a player, it triggers a Flaming Detonation.
    • Flaming DetonationFlaming Detonation - Inflicts 2,000,000 damage to all players within 10 yards, and creates a pool of fire that afflicts any players who enter with Burning. The size of the pool of fire created is reduced based on the length of time it takes the Flaming Orb to trigger a Flaming Detonation.
  • Bursting DreadflameBursting Dreadflame - Inflicts 2,500,000 Fire damage to the targeted player and all other players within 15 yards.
  • Focused DreadflameFocused Dreadflame - Inflicts 8,000,000 Fire damage to all players in a line in the direction of the targeted player, divided by the number of players hit.

Should be interesting.  I don't think the coup de grace will be delivered here - either we chase him back to Argus to finish it, or N'zoth and Jaina show up and take him out.

If you use Orb of Deception on a Pandaren in Patch 7.3.5, you have a chance to be transformed into an Allied Race character!
Redditor acrye noticed that Orb of Deception can transform you into Allied Races characters after Patch 7.3.5 went live. The item is a world drop from Vanilla, but luckily, it's BoE, so you can get it from the Auction House. The toy transforms you into a member of the opposing faction for 5 minutes and has a 30-minute cooldown. He used the toy on a Pandaren and got transformed into a Nightborne.

Redditor blizooka got transformed into a Highmountain Tauren by using the orb on his Pandaren as well. All other races except Pandaren have a fixed race they transform into when the orb is used.

Allied Races are not currently available and they will launch at some point in the future. Learn more about them in our Patch 7.3.5 content hub!

Scarab Lords got a new model for their Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal in Patch 7.3.5.
Muffinus confirmed on Twitter that one of the updated color variations of the qiraji mounts is intended as a reward for Scarab Lords that have access to the permanent version of the mount (Black Qiraji Battle Tank) that is no longer obtainable.

The non-permanent versions of new qiraji mounts added in Patch 7.3.5 (Ruby Qiraji Resonating Crystal & Sapphire Qiraji Resonating Crystal) will be available during Call of the Scarab micro-holiday and you can find more information about them here.

Two weeks ago, we previewed the Legion epilogue quest line in Silithus. Now that Patch 7.3.5 is live, epilogue cinematics for both factions are out! The following article is obviously full of spoilers.
Check out our Patch 7.3.5 content hub for the latest information about the patch!
      Alliance Legion Epilogue Cinematic
The cinematic begins to play before you turn in Gifts of the Fallen.
Anduin is giving a speech in Stormwind to formally announce the end of the war. All of a sudden, Mathias Shaw approaches Greymane, telling him that he must speak with the boy-king. Mathias informs Anduin about Goblins mining a mysterious substance in Silithus and gives him a piece of Azerite.
      Horde Legion Epilogue Cinematic
Leaders of the Horde gather together for a feast in celebration of their victory over the Burning Legion. Baine is giving a speech and gets interrupted by Gallywix, who requests a private audience with the Dark Lady, show her his Azerite-infused cane and informs Sylvanas about Azerite and ongoing mining operations of the Bilgewater Cartel in Silithus. Baine and Saurfang call Gallywix a rat and there seems to be a growing distrust between the racial leaders of the Horde.
The cinematic starts playing before you turn in A Recent Discovery.
The cinematics were written by Christie Golden.

Patch 7.3.5 is now live and here are the official patch notes!

Accounts protected by an Authenticator and SMS Protect gain four extra backpack slots. All dungeons reward Personal Loot now. The official patch notes do not take the recently announced changes to Legendary tokens in Patch 7.3.5 into account. Two new faction mounts have been added to this year's Call of the Scarab micro-holiday. Ruby Qiraji Resonating Crystal and Sapphire Qiraji Resonating Crystal are not permanent mounts though, as indicated in the flavor text: "The qiraji will return to their burrows, once the Call of the Scarab ends".
