Patch 7.2.5: How to Get Moggable Warglaives of Azzinoth

Recommended Posts

In Patch 7.2.5, Demon Hunters (and possibly other classes) will be able to transmogrify the appearance of Illidan's Warglaives. If you want them as soon as possible, now would be a good time to add Black Temple to your weekly raid clear schedule!

Update:

Placeholder for tweet 855484253798154241

The I'll Hold These For You Until You Get Out achievement added yesterday tells us more information about transmoggable Warglaives. The requirement is to defeat Illidan during Black Temple Timewalking after completing the Warglaives of AzzinothWarglaives of Azzinoth achievement.

  • First, you need to obtain both Warglaives the regular way from Illidan in Black Temple
    • The achievement credit isn't account-wide, so you need to get them both on a single character
  • It's a good idea to start farming them now, because they have a very low drop chance and BT is on a weekly lockout.
  • Once you have them both and Patch 7.2.5 goes live, you need to finish Black Temple Timewalking and kill Illidan
  • After that you'll get the I'll Hold These For You Until You Get Out achievement that rewards Arsenal: The Warglaives of AzzinothArsenal: The Warglaives of Azzinoth
  • Build 23958 added two Warglaives.

do you need to get the glaives on your demon hunter? i got them on my rogue, will that count?

I think you're good, but it's too early to say. The off hand is available for more classes and Blizzard probably plans to make the transmog available to all of them. I'll keep you updated as more information become available.

I really hope I don't need to re-farm the glaives on my Demon Hunter. Though if I have to I will I guess. 8% drop rate for a glaive isnt -that- bad I suppose, problem is mainly worrying about getting duplicates.

Might as well do it anyway just to be safe for once 7.2.5 is out.

I wonder... Does it have to be a class that can use them? I have almost 1 on every class I have...but my pally has both.

:-(

You need to be able to equip it. I looted Thori'dal, the Stars' FuryThori'dal, the Stars' Fury on my Mage, but didn't get the achievement.

Actually, here's a thought. It says it rewards the transmog for Demon Hunters, but there is no reason why another class who has the original Warglaives couldn't run Black Temple Timewalking and obtain this achievement, which would add the appearances to your wardrobe to be used by any demon hunter on your account.

Since it does not specify that you need to complete it on a Demon Hunter, I think it's safe to assume you can unlock it using whichever Warrior/Rogue/etc. you originally had the warglaives on.

Or does it literally reward the item that you then need to learn, which requires Demon Hunter class? I figured the achievement would just add everything to your collection like most other achievements do. :s

Looks like they've confirmed my theory.

Well tbh, I was slightly off still. It doesn't need to be completed specifically on your character that has the glaives. :p

Another world first goes to the same group that cleared Mythic +25 earlier. This time, they have cleared a +26 with almost 40 seconds left on the timer. This is the first +26 cleared in time in Season 1. Congratulations!
You can find a more details about the run including team composition, Covenants, Soulbind traits, Conduits, Legendaries, and trinkets below.

You can find a VoD of their run on Douyu.

Two top Arena World Championship players, including a BlizzCon champion and a 2nd place finisher, received suspensions yesterday, one permanent, as both were found to be using Real Money Trading.
First off we have Emil "Zeepeye" Ek, who won last year's EU side of the AWC and had previously finished in 2nd place during the 2019 AWC BlizzCon finals, and is now suspended for 6 months. The RMT was related to "coaching", which could be interpreted as boosting by some, and Ek had a lengthy explanation of what happened and why:
Secondly, a previous 1-year suspension was made permanent, as Martin "Loony" Moazzez (who shared the EU AWC 2020 win with Zeepeye and had previously won BlizzCon 2014) also participated in Real Money Trading and coaching. There's a lot more to his story, as the initial 1-year suspension actually wasn't for RMT but more complicated and, well, worse:
The Arena World Championship continues in March.

What would be the worst thing that could happen in the Shadowlands? The Jailer winning and remaking the way death works? Destroying the universe to build a new one? Sylvanas getting redeemed and us having to suffer through her being on our side again? Well, it turns out 9.1 might be bringing something MUCH darker on us than all of that combined.
Sarazzan made this horrifying discovery when looking at the ending of the 9.1 cinematic, as a certain glowy light at the end of the chains over in Korthia is hinting at... terror:

So get ready for a return to the CHAMPIONizing and WOONZing ways of BfA, as everyone's least favorite Christmas tree ornament might be coming back. When you think about it it makes sense too, as the instant he wasn't needed to save Azeroth anymore some very smart people decided to banish him into the deepest depths of the Shadowlands, but alas the Jailer just hates us SO much that he's bringing him back.
Here are some of the measured and very accurate comments from the post:
And just in case you forgot why players are scared to death of him, here are a couple of reminders:

We have two pretty great videos of Priests taking matters into their own hands, as Leap of Faith "helps" the DPS do the mechanics properly... and sometimes not so much.
The first clip is a truly amazing example of "healers have to do everything"/babysitting the DPS, as this Priest took control and completed the Lady Inerva mechanic using a puppet:
However, there's always a flip side to things, as this Priest had the same idea, with a somewhat different outcome on Stole Legion:

Bellular had the opportunity to interview Steve Danuser and Morgan Day. Interview highlights include deliberate parallels between Anduin, and Arthas, the story of Garrosh, Ner'zhul, and Yrel in Shadowlands, and more. Check out our recap to learn more!
      Interview Highlights
There are some deliberate parallels between Arthas and Anduin in the new cinematic, but also differences. For a brief moment, Anduin was horrified about what he's done before the Jailer's power of Dominion took hold of him again. That didn't happen with Arthas. It appears we're going to learn more about Ner'zhul in Shadowlands. Garrosh Hellscream also has a small role to play in Patch 9.1. They don't want to reveal any spoilers, though. We will also hear more about Yrel, who wielded the light's power to destroy Mag'har Orcs in the Allied Race unlock scenario.
