Soul of the ForestSoul of the Forest now causes your finishing moves to deal 5% increased damage and grant 5 Energy per combo point.

Why did they need to nerf this talent even further? It was already in a bad state and they reduced it down from 10% to 5%, probably to make it compatible with the legendary ring. I still hate how they are making it so it is almost mandatory for us to have an RNG based ring, which will obviously be BiS, for us to really get the most of of our damage. I'm really getting tired of all these legendaries and set bonuses that are made to fix bad dps for specs, when the better option would be to mix it into the rotation baseline, and the legendaries and tier sets just strengthen it... not so much where they are required...

Is the BM Hunter +6% overall damage buff new? I don't remember seeing it discussed before these notes came out.

This was being discussed as a general thing for loads of specs from what I remember, in an attempt to balance pre-raid meters, basically. BM probably just got thrown in there too.

Was available on the wowhead patch notes in detail.

http://www.wowhead.com/news=263129/all-the-class-and-artifact-trait-changes-in-patch-7-2-5

If you go down to the hunter section there's a whole list of changes to Cobra Shot and Kill Command, as well as the artifact trait nerfs too.

It's good to see that despite the massive nerf to the up-time of BW, they've really increased the damage our two main abilities do.

Nerf bear tanks more... For real?

To be fair, bears aren't in any danger. They're still going to be taken as tanks because of how unbelievably strong they were prior to the nerf. They are nowhere near what some of the other tanks were like at launch! If we reach that point, then we should probably start getting worried!

true, but still they nerfed ironfur twice, they remove a have magical defense cd, leaving us with no magic defense, and they reduce our rage generation. They let us into a raid with heavy magic damage with no active mitigation, while they crop down our physical mitigation. Next thing theyll nerf our heath pool they only thing that still makes us shine.

I guess it depends on the way you look at it. Kill Command and Cobra shot both got a 20% damage increase, as well as the 6% overall aura buff. It will definitely make the downtime between BW casts a lot smoother, especially now that 2 charges of Dire Beast is baseline, but the burst BM will be able to generate will be absolutely insane. I'm already peaking at almost 3m on every pull as BM, having that massive damage increase there will mean our burst is fantastic, but the reduced uptime might hurt our overall dps a bit.

Especially once you take into consideration the t20 set bonuses, the GCD reduction on aspect of the wild and if you're lucky enough to have the belt then the pure dps you'll be able to pump out will be insane.

Once our mastery and haste scales a little bit higher with gear it'll be even better; by the time it gets towards the end of mythic gearing I have a feeling the amount of crit and haste we'll have will make up for the nerfs to BW uptime.

From the current feelycraft on PTR, most hunters are saying it feels similar to live, but I have a feeling that's mostly just due to the gear that's available as well as how much downtime we'll have between each burst phase. Looking like a definite buff moving into ToS.

Plus, for any hunters that liked the Stomp + OWTP playstyle, that's making a resurgence if you can get the new Soul of the Huntmaster ring; 2pc t19 and 4pc t20 means you'll get the best of both worlds and you'll be able to play either style of game if you're lucky enough to get the ring.

The thing that excites me the most about BM is that we've only got two new legendaries, and Parsel's chest works great if you're using Dire Frenzy, and the ring works great if you're keen to run Stomp + OWTP (or even Blink Strikes and Dire Frenzy for some insane cleave!)

Another thing to note, the Mantle of Command will still be one of the top legendaries, but only by a much smaller margin; it's similar now to the Apex Predator ring, but the 5% buff applies to ALL of your damage not just your main pet; and with such a consistent uptime, it's looking like it's still a viable option.

TL;DR - BM looks a lot smoother this patch, no more requiring of any legendary for top-tier performance.

I am a noob destro lock (lvl 46 only), and I wanted to ask whether this is a buff or a nerf, because I do not even have all of the spells, so I am not sure about their usability pre-7.2.5 and even less so about post-7.2.5.
The 10-shard system and 10% dmg increase makes it seem like a buff, but again, I am quite bad at this game.

The state of warlocks at the moment is in complete chaos, it's very hard to tell which will come out the best in terms of single target and aoe dps, looking like it's still affliction and demo as top, but destro will be more viable than it has been for NH.

Overall, destro changes look to be a good buff - definitely fixes some of the problems it had.

I tested destro a lot on the PTR and I can definitely say that it is a slight dps increase even without the QOL improvements it has received, and with those QOL improvements (Such as no random overcapping anymore) it makes it almost on-par with affliction and demo. One important thing to note is that some of the CD's got increased but also their damage (Although this is slightly disproportionate) this means that the overall damage of those abilities has been reduced in terms of DPS slightly, but the burst they give is higher. Because you cast them slightly less often now, you also save up a few GCD's for your normal spells during the encounter. This difference is quite noticeable on 6-8 minute fights.

As for how it goes with the NEW set bonuses, I haven't tried that out yet (Wanted to see if it's any good even without them), so I don't know how far it pulls ahead OR falls behind compared to the two other specs.

But would make alot of sense

Also is the CD reduction of bw going down to 12 sec per cast or is the less uptime only a reference to the loss of 4-set ?

Was a bit unclear on it since it doesn't say anything about it here

It's been tested, the Apex ring only applied the 5% to your main pet, and the 5% from the shoulders (while not stacking) applies to ALL your dps.

Yes, Dire Beast CD reduction going down to 12 sec and 4set being nerfed. But it's made up by the 20% increase to KC and CS as well as the 6% aura increase. On PTR it's pretty similar dps to live, but burst dps has been significantly increased, especially when we get the T20 bonuses.

Weird that it isn't included in patch notes that it is all of the dps, but i will take your word for it

I'm assuming that it won't matter much anyway with new ring coming and Bracers being bis atleast for as long as COF is viable

Thanks for the clarification

It's essentially just a ton of improvements to the playstyle, rather than just straight up buffing/nerfing the DPS, thereby hopefully making it more fun/smooth to play? Sounds like a good set of changes!

  • Beast Mastery
    • The Mantle of Command: Redesigned. Dire Beast / Dire Frenzy increases the damage done by your pets by 5% for 8 seconds.

Straight from the patch notes. It's a minor technicality in its phrasing - it applies to your main pet, hati, AMoC, Dire Beasts etc and it SHOULD also apply to your damage (not that that's even all that relevant since our pets do 80% of our damage) so it works out to be around a 4% flat increase.

The new ring is looking to be best when combined with the Stomp + OWTP setup, which I'm sure you'll be excited to run again since you used to love it :P

Combined with Dire Frenzy it's not that great on ST, unless you want Blink Strikes for AoE. BiS leggos are looking more along the lines of Parsel's chest and Mantle / Roar.

Bracers are only really viable if you have a 915+ CoF, otherwise the stats on it just get lost way too easily.

Yeah, especially the 2 charges of Dire Beast becoming baseline - very exciting for those of us who went the entire patch raiding without the shoulder *cries*.

The nerfs to our artifact traits was a harsh blow, but this should easily make up for it.

Well if that is the phrasing then it's just straight up worse than ring ? since you don't get all the pet specializations

Or am i just stupid and missing something ? :D

And chest is just a max 4% dps increase ( not during initial seconds of burst for example)

and in my opinion running OWTP without boots is just not worth it :)

SO as i can see  it's basicly just to run Belt and then every other legy is kinda meh ? or am i being dumb ? :D

NOte: revisited the post about the new legendaries and noticed that ring now gives BF instead of DS, With that in mind i will go out on a limb and say that second best talent row + belt will be by far the best legendary setup to run and i mean by far. could be wrong tho if i misunderstood any of the other changes but to me that ring seems absolutly crazy

It's 5% to ALL your damage, not just your main pet. When you look at how much extra damage you do from AMoC & Hati, that is affected by the shoulders now not just the ring, making it significantly better.

I wouldn't shun the 4% damage increase, that 4% applies to everything, not to mention 8% leech would be absolutely amazing for prog.

http://eyesofthebeast.com/2017/05/patch-7-2-5-beast-mastery-preview-builds-legendaries-and-set-bonuses/

Keep in mind the above sims are completely open to change, but the chest looks veeery strong at the moment.

Belt and shoulders seem very similar in terms of output. So realistically, if you're going to run belt / shoulders still, that's an awesome combo.

Blink Strikes doesn't provide a huge single target dps increase, but for cleave fights belt & ring will be without a doubt the perfect combo. In terms of pure ST, it does okay but it's best served with the Stomp + 2pc T19 set bonus.

Always stay on the lookout for better loot and upgrades.

Check out our first look at MoP Remix coming in Patch 10.2.7!
When Patch 10.2.7 goes live, you will be greeted by the following screen, informing you about the MoP Remix event and its objectives. There will be a button that lets you create your Timerunner (character).

Similar to Plunderstorm, there will be an icon on the character screen for MoP Remix with the number of days remaining.

Timerunners will be marked with a special icon next to their name on the character selection screen.

When you first enter the game, you'll start with a short intro quest on the Timeless Shore. Your character will be affected with the Pandaria: Remix buff.

The quest intro features a few unique quests before you start replaying MoP from the very beginning. It introduces you to Bronze, the event's currency used to buy items and upgrade gear.
Throughout your journey you will come across some very unique gear just like this cloak (Cloak of Infinite Potential) that permanently increases in power (Timerunner's Advantage).

Your char will have access to two important Timerunning abilities.
Extract Gem - Extract a gem from one of your socketed items. Unraveling Sands - Summon Unraveling Sands that transforms your unwanted items into Bronze. Gems offer a lot of customization in MoP Remix and you want to extract them with Extract Gem, because placing a new gem on top of a socketed one will make you lose it.
If you come across unneeded gear, you can scrap it for Bronze with Unraveling Sands.
