Validated Doomsayers Now Live

The event leading to the release of Patch 7.3 is now live after this week's maintenance in your region. Validated Doomsayers have been added to Dalaran and you will notice the Argus skybox everywhere even if you haven't defeated Kil'jaeden yet.

Validated Doomsayers in Dalaran are now giving out pamphlets about the end of Azeroth. Citizens aren't feeling well and have new dialogue options. The chaos has come to Dalaran! Let's see if the new Magni scenario (Whispers of a Frightened World) will be enabled in the coming weeks!

Previously, you would see the Argus skybox only after defeating Kil'jaeden, but with Doomsayers, it's enabled for everyone.

Am I the only fearing this content may be comming to soon? I would hate it for this raid to (again) open up before a good portion of the raiding guilds have had their shot at KJ. And with those I don't mean the top100/200 in the world only but a tad bit more.

The patch will probably drop by the end of August. The raid though wont be available for weeks or months after

I'm in a less than average raiding guild IMO; we definitely aren't hardcore whatsoever, I mean, heck I only started tanking since normal nighthold and I'm tanking our heroic progression once a week for about 3 hours and doing just a fine job at it. Sometimes our DPS is so bad *I'LL* out dps them. That's not a mark of how good *I* am that's just to say for a raiding guild pushing heroic, we shouldn't have people pulling 500k dps on normal. So we're definitely not in the top 100/200 or whatever. I hardly play the game aside from those nights, once a week, and I definitely don't grind mythic+. We killed KJ on normal a while ago. I'm at the point myself where there's no POINT to me logging in unless I want to push harder with people outside my guild and honestly I'd rather not.

No one cares right? If it's not mythic it doesn't count? To that I counter: If they (this "good portion of the raiding guilds) weren't in the running against those who've already cleared it on mythic, then no one cares about when those guilds clear it on mythic at this point. They're not part of the 'show'. So either way, bring on the next content patch please. They're taking this long, no one's forcing them to go to the next raid tier.

There are three sides to this coin.

Content is being released too fast.  Guilds and players can't progress fast enough to reach a satisfactory point before the next raid starts.  Ideally you want a guild to have killed Heroic Kil'Jaeden before the next raid comes out, and each raid so far has come out weeks after the patch is released.

Content is being released too slow.  Guilds and players are bored with current content and sit in Dalaran twiddling their thumbs trying to find something to do while some other game entices them to come play it.

Content is being released at a reasonable pace.  Guilds and players are satisfied with the current release schedule and are able to adequately progress through the content and reach a satisfactory position prior to the next content release.

Everyone fits into one of these three categories.  Blizzard is also trying to release content in such a way that it appeases most of the people in these categories.  Their primary goal?   To prevent the 2 years of 1 teirs worth of content that was HFC in WoD.

Yeah, it seems like it's almost become inevitable to have this at the end of the expansion and they are really fighting to avoid it. I'm just praying it works.

Today we have some nerdscreams and the raid setup from Method's Argus kill, stealth hotfixes for the encounter, overall endboss stats for all of Legion as well as the Exorsus World 2nd Aggramar kill video.
The race to World First ended today as Method continued their recent dominance of Legion's raids and took down the probably final boss of the expansion, a mere 8 days after it was released (or 7 days after they started progress). We've already covered the WF itself, but there have been plenty of new stats coming after the kill, including the wipe count and raid setup. But first let's take a look/listen to the nerdscreams as the boss went down, somewhat less enthusiastic than usual I'd have to say:

Method also shared what stealth hotfixes happened while they were progressing on the final boss, not mentioned in any official notes:
We then have the raid composition for the kill itself, featuring 12 different classes including 3 rouges, 3 mages and 2 hunters:

And on to the wipe count, it took 320 failed attempts to get the world soul down as we already mentioned, and here's a comparison table for all the Legion endbosses, including the time they stayed alive for:
Raid / Boss WF Guild Wipe Count Time to kill (from region reset) Time to kill (from previous boss)  The Emerald Nightmare
      Xavius
      Exorsus 19 17h40min
+16h from US launch 2h43min  Trial of Valor
      Helya
       Method 223 2 days 7h
+16h from US launch 2 days 1h  The Nighthold
      Gul'dan
      Exorsus 247 11 days 6h
+16h from US launch 4 days 22h The Tomb of Sargeras
      Kil'jaeden
       Method 654 19 days 5h
+16h from US launch 11 days 19h  Antorus: the Burning Throne
      Argus the Unmaker
       Method 320 7 days 8h
+16h from US launch 6 days 14h And finally, we also got to see Exorsus World 2nd Aggramar kill video:
The race itself isn't quite over yet, as only Method have managed to end the Unmaker and finish up Antorus, and so the silver is still up in the air. Will Exorsus secure their expected second place finish or will the Asia guilds climb further up in this tier? Limit has also had the reset for two days now and seeing how crucial the gear from the 2nd clear is they still have quite the head start over Style War and Alpha. And let's not forget current 4th place holders Memento, who also might make it an all EU top 3. There are quite a few combinations that are open, so keep following Method.gg's live coverage to find out how it all shakes out, or check back in here when some more kills happen.

There's a new PTR build up, bringing with it Ulduar Timewalking and an even larger focus on the new 1-100 level scaling mechanics. Blizzard are asking for help in testing the questlines in some specific zones as well, so get on there and test!
      Build 25700 (source)
This week, we’ve implemented a new build that primarily brings bugfixes to the PTR. Our biggest focus for testing remains the new level 1-100 zone and dungeon scaling we’re introducing with 7.3.5. This is an extensive change to how loot, quests, and creatures work in the open world, so we continue to look for as much feedback as we can get about how things are working out.
Thank you so much for all of the feedback you’ve provided so far on leveling in Azeroth. We hope you keep the feedback coming, and we’d like to ask you to especially focus some of your testing on the questlines in these specific zones:
       Blade's Edge Mountains
       Duskwood
       Hellfire Peninsula
       Icecrown
       Kun-Lai Summit
       Nagrand
       Storm Peaks
       Terokkar Forest
       Vashj'ir
       Wetlands
Feedback on the difficulty, pacing, and most importantly, any bugs you might find while completing quests in the above zones would be most helpful. Please post your level scaling feedback here.
We now have Ulduar Timewalking available for testing, and it should be available for the next four days or so. Please post Ulduar Timewalking feedback here.
Also, a heads up—We’re planning a scheduled playtest of the new Seething Shore PvP Battleground. Get ready to Play With The Blues on the PTR on Tuesday, December 19 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. PST. The Seething Shore is a 10v10 race to gather Azerite on an island near Silithus, and we hope you’ll be able to join us there and test it thoroughly on Tuesday.
As always, thank you very much for participating in the PTR!
