Patch 7.3: Token Clarifications

Recommended Posts

bKUGncN.jpg

Patch 7.3 added two new types of tokens to the game. Unsullied tokens are BoA and a great way to gear up your alts, while Relinquished tokens had their item level bumped and cost Veiled Argunite. In this article, we're explaining differences between them.

Unsullied Tokens

  • Have a base item level of 880, the same as pre-7.3 Relinquished items.
  • Can be earned from Argus world quests, Invasion Points, they drop from rare elites and you can find them in emissary bags or Argus caches.
  • They work exactly the same way as old Timeless Isle (Timeless CurioTimeless Curio) tokens or Dauntless tokens from the Broken Shore, but these are Bind-to-Account (Unsullied Cloth CapUnsullied Cloth Cap), so it's possible to mail them over to your alts.
  • Cannot yield a Legendary item.
  • Neck, back, relics, rings & trinkets can be used with no requirements
  • Other Unsullied tokens are divided into Cloth (Mage, Priest Warlock) tokens, Leather (Demon Hunter, Druid, Monk, Rogue) tokens, Mail (Hunter, Shaman) tokens and Plate (Death Knight, Paladin, Warrior) tokens.
  • Here's a full list of Unsullied tokens.

Relinquished Items

  • Argus Relinquished items have a base item level of 910.
  • The old Broken Shore vendor moved to Argus and you can no longer purchase Relinquished gear with Nethershards. Instead, they cost 650 Veiled Argunite each.
  • Veiled Argunite is gained from world quests, weekly quests, rare elites or Argus caches.
  • You can now target specific Relic types e.g. Relinquished Arcane RelicRelinquished Arcane RelicRelinquished Blood RelicRelinquished Blood RelicRelinquished Fel RelicRelinquished Fel Relic and so forth.
  • Relinquished items can turn into Tomb of Sargeras and even Legion Season 5 PvP gear.
  • Relinquished items can turn into Legendary items (even 7.2.5 Legendary items)
    • Previously, Broken Shore Relinquished gear wouldn't drop 7.2.5 Legendaries.
  • Here's a full list of Relinquished tokens.

Don't you mean the Antorus raid? (While I assume Tomb of Sargeras is also possible, I think you ment the new raid, right?)

I have yet to gain any Veiled Argunite from world quests. As far as I know they only drop from all the other sources you listed. Could be wrong but I have done quite a bit of world quests already, and 0 drops.

No, the new raid will open later this year. I think it's because Mac'Aree has not opened yet.

I think I've read either on Icy-Veins or Wowhead (pardon me because not sure now) that Mac'Aree was confirmed to not house any world quests at all... since both new factions are covered in the two current zones of Argus we can visit.

Actually, Krokuun has quests for both factions, Army of the Light world quests are exclusive to Antoran Wastes and Argussian Reach to Mac'Aree.

Even if that's true... the current information you provided is wrong. There is no world quest -as of right now- you can do to get said currency. Stating you can is confusing until you -actually- can. Might sound nitpicky but people might read it, farm current world quests expecting the currency to drop only to find out they wasted time based on trusting your information source.

Profession material collections world quests give Veiled Arcunite, such as 40 Astral Glory, 40 Fiendish Leather, ... etc..

Oh yes, I believe you. Fair enough, they started showing up for me today. But let's take a look at Stan's wording below:

Explain to me how you can farm World Quests for Veiled Argunite then? Last time I checked farming means doing something over and over, multiple times usually a few times in a row. Like, how a farmer does his land. So how does one ''farm'' World Quests that show up once every X hours?

True. Adjusted wording.

I'm not quite sure as to what you're referring to. But basically it would work like this:

You check your Weapon which has (e.g.) a 900, a 910 and an old WQ 860 relic, which you have been unlucky on drops or whatnot. As Relics and Relic slots all have types (arcane, blood, fel etc) you would now just check the type of your low ilvl relic. Assuming it is an arcane one, you would buy a relinquished arcane relic which would result in an arcane relic of ilvl 910 (at least, i guess). Swap the low one and enjoy the increased ilvl on your weapon.

During 7.2 you could only buy a relinquished relic, which could turn into a relic of any type - and usually would turn into the most useless one for you (that is NOT confirmed officially :)).

I don’t know, if that's what you were asking. If not, maybe reword the question slightly. I'm sure ppl here will be able to help.

Cheers so far

That answered it for me. thank you

Just as a heads up, I wouldn't roll for relics. There are so many relic WQs up on Argus it's insane. You'll get 890+ relics in no time.

Still is nice to roll for relics, one of my mains got a bis titanforged 945 the other day  :)

True, but if you have other slots that need filling, its better to go for them IMO if you don't raid - there are just so many relic WQs up.

Reddit user Bonelord911 tried to organize all specializations by their alignment to the cosmology chart and here's the result!
There's just one slight inconsistency as ItisCaleb and Evonyte pointed out. Monks should be at Spirit, close to reality, since the Chi is a Spirit element according to the Chronicles.
