You can now adopt a new fox pet named Shadow for $10 USD to support a good cause. 100% of proceeds go to the Red Cross.

For every ShadowShadow fox adopted between now and the end of the year, Blizzard's giving 100% of the 10$ USD to Red Cross to support recent natural disasters around the world. Our friends at MMO-Champion released a video with animations. ShadowShadow switches colors between light and void.

Introducing the latest World of Warcraft companion up for adoption in the in-game Shop and the Blizzard Shop: an artful fox named Shadow! This new companion is bound to use its cunning to shift its way through Shadow and Light directly into your heart and home.

ADOPT SHADOW AND HELP SUPPORT DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS

Due to recent natural disasters around the world—and the great needs of those affected—we’ve decided not to wait for BlizzCon 2017 to release this year’s new charity pet. The immediacy of the events, including Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, flooding in South Asia, and countless other crises, have shown we need to act now.

For every Shadow fox adopted between now and December 31, 2017, 100% of the $10 USD adoption fee will be donated to both American Red Cross Disaster Relief and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Disaster Relief Fund. Your donation will be split equally between both organizations: for the American Red Cross to help people affected by disasters big and small in the U.S., and the IFRC to help Red Cross Red Crescent Societies respond to disasters through their Disaster Relief Emergency fund.

Adopt Now!

WHERE YOUR DONATION IS GOING

For more information about the American Red Cross and the IFRC, visit redcross.org and ifrc.org.

Blizzard will donate to the American Red Cross and IFRC 100% of sales for every charity pet sold between September 12, 2017 and December 31st, 2017. Proceeds will be split equally between both organizations. This purchase is not tax deductible.

Blizzard is helping people affected by disasters big and small by making a gift to American Red Cross Disaster Relief and supporting international disaster response by supporting the IFRC Disaster Relief Emergency Fund.

As opposed to giving the proceeds to a charity which will actually invest the money into helping the victims?

Will this money go to Florida or Antilles ? Because Florida has way more means than other victims..

yes cause some victims of disaster are just so much less deserving or in need than others.........
just cause a location is wealthier doesn't means that they are less in need of aid

Well, it's for a good cause.....

I like to rationalise it like this too. It seems like the right thing to do.

I didn't say that some victims deserved it less than others. All i'm saying is that, in the facts, USA got way more means to help their people, that's why to me : it would be fair to financially help more the Antilles people..

Just gonna say that this isn't the place to have an ethical discussion about aid funds and the like - the focus should be that the money goes to a good cause and there is a great new pet added to the game.

Scripe, the Raid Leader of Method and Guild Master of Echo, admitted he was involved in real money trading with the Gallywix boosting community.
Blizzard recently suspended some members of the Gallywix boosting community that were involved in exchanging gold for real money.
Today, Scripe confirmed that he decided to buy gold directly from Gallywix instead of buying WoW tokens, and the agreed exchange rate was apparently 50 USD/EUR for 1 million gold, based on the following spreadsheet posted on Reddit.
Placeholder for tweet 1290652868115128322 In case the above tweet gets deleted.

For the World First Ny'alotha Race progression when there was no Corruption Vendor, Method needed to buy BoE items with the best Corruption Effects for millions of gold across all servers and transfer them to Tarren Mill.
The total expenses for BoE items and WoW tokens came to a whopping 128,473,245 gold, and you can find a list of all items the guild purchased here.
Core members of Method raid team have reformed as Echo and the guild is lead by Scripe.

SauceISR discovered something strange going on in Quel'thalas on the Shadowlands Beta.
There is a Void Elf-like shield (skybox?) in one of the areas in Quel'thalas. It currently has no spawns/NPCs, and we do not know what purpose it should fulfill. Maybe it was intended for Void Elves at some point but was later scrapped during development. What do you think? Anyway, it's a cool find! You can check out MrGM's video of the skybox below.

It seems there have been some issues with a few servers and the connections between Garona and Icecrown and Malygos won't happen tomorrow as planned, but at a later date.
      Realm Connections (source)
Due to a previously unforseen issue, we have decided to hold off on connecting Garona to Icecrown+Malygos until a later date, to be determined. The other listed realm connections will go ahead as planned tomorrow. The connections still happening tomorrow after extended maintenance:
      Realm Connections (source)
During a special maintenance period (currently planned for 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PDT (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT) on Thursday, August 13), the following realm connections will be made:
The Frostwolf and Vashj realms will join Drak’Tharon, Firetree, Malorne, Rivendare, Spirestone, and Stormscale . The Blackrock realm will join the Azjol-Nerub and Khaz Modan realms. The Bloodscalp, Boulderfist, Maiev, and Stonemaul realms will join the Quel’dorei and Sen’jin realms. Garrosh will join Aegwynn, Bonechewer, Daggerspine, and Hakkar. We are planning more realm connections for low-population realms, and we will post further notifications like this one in the coming weeks.
      Thank you!

Mirror of Envious Dreams is an interesting costume toy from Revendreth that makes your character permanently (for now) wear the full Tier 3 or Tier 6 sets even though you don't physically possess the items that form the set. The item currently has no cooldown on the Beta.

The toy comes from a chest in Revendreth's starting area. The illusion has a 10-minute duration,  no cooldown, and remains on during combat and mounting.
Using the toy makes your character randomly wear either the full Tier 3 or the Tier 6 set.

We're not sure if the toy will go live in its current form, but it will probably be limited by cooldown as it would be unfair to those who bought the Tier 3 pieces through the Black Market Auction House.
Thanks to @Blainiefor the tip and images.
