Learn more about Blaze in the latest Hero spotlight.

Blaze Veteran Firebat

The Hero is available for playtesting until January 8, so the patch should go live in one week (January 9). You can find the official patch notes here.

Strengths

  • Area denial
  • Sustain
  • Mobility
  • CC

Weaknesses

  • Displacement
  • Single Target Damage
  • Burst Damage

Abilities

Trait

  • Pyromania
    • Gain 25 Armor and deal 40 damage to nearby enemies every 0.5 seconds for 4 seconds. Each Hero hit by Flame Stream reduces Pyromania's cooldown by 5 seconds.

Basic Abilities

  • Flame Stream (Q)
    • Fire two streams of flame that deal 83 damage to enemies hit. Flame Stream sets fire to Oil Spills it comes in contact with.
  • Oil Spill (W)
    • Vector Targeting.
    • Dispense a slick of oil that lasts for 5 seconds and Slows enemies that come in contact with it by 40%. Flame Stream can set Oil Spills on fire for 2.5 seconds, dealing 18 damage every 0.3 seconds to enemies inside. While on fire, Oil Spills no longer Slow enemies. Additionally, Blaze is Healed for 49 Health every 0.3 seconds while standing in flaming Oil Spills. Stores up to 2 charges.
  • Jet Propulsion (E)
    • After 0.5 seconds, charge forward, colliding with the first enemy Hero hit, dealing 52 damage to them and nearby enemy Heroes. Enemies hit are also Stunned for 1.25 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

  • Bunker Drop (R)
    • After 0.5 seconds, deploy and enter a Bunker with 1300 Health. Blaze and his allies can enter and exit the Bunker at will. While in the Bunker, occupants gain access to Flamethrower, dealing 179 damage to enemies in a line. Exiting the Bunker grants 25 Armor for 2 seconds. Bunkers last 10 seconds, or until destroyed.
  • Combustion (R)
    • Channel up to 2.6 seconds. Once Channeling ends, nearby enemies are Slowed by 60% and take 48 damage  every 0.5 seconds. Combustion's Slow and damage over time durations are extended the longer Blaze Channels, from 1 second up to 5 seconds. Blaze's Movement Speed is reduced by 50% while Channeling.

Cpl. Miles "Blaze" Lewis has always been drawn to the flame, but it wasn't until he joined up with Raynor's Raiders that he put his pyromania to good use. He's seen his fair share of battles since then, and has never failed to bring the heat. Get all the necessary information plus some gameplay tips for our newest Warrior Hero, Blaze, in this spotlight video!

Copy-pasted from In-Dev:

I watched the Spotlight, and this is EXACTLY what I've wanted from a tank: a fire-themed area denial bruiser. I've been kicking an idea around for Urzael (the fire angel from Reaper of Souls) using a similar concept, but this is good to.

Also, Bunker Drop looks sick at high-level play.

Well, now that Blaze is a Warrior with a combo pretty much identical to Keg Smash + Breath of Fire... Chen is officially defunct now.

RIP Chen

Blaze's kit looks pretty nice, I love the idea of just being on fire pretty much all the time.

The Mecha Skins are great, Tyrael and Abathur will certainly join my collection when their prices drop to 1600 shards.

It's kinda nice to have new skins that aren't recolors outside of Events.

Let's hope those skins are not "Gem exclusive" or... we'll have to open dem wallets and give em our shekels...

Seems like an offensive variant of Chen.  Has a very solid kit at a glance, and that AOE slow (even if it is a line) by itself can be killer on certain maps.

Blizzard's implementing new technology to the game that will enhance the ability to validate the accuracy of reports. Players who are frequently reported for using offensive language will receive account silences and ranked suspensions faster now.
      Blizzard (Source)
Starting today, we’re implementing new technology that enhances our ability to validate the accuracy of reports. This will allow us to increase the rate that we issue account silences and ranked suspensions to players who are frequently and consistently reported for using offensive language. These actions are aimed at those who regularly use offensive language to harass, antagonize, and abuse one or more of their teammates. This type of behavior not only ruins the experience for those who are targeted, but also damages team morale, effectively degrading the fun for everyone in a match.

We will continue to issue weekly suspension and ban waves for non-participation and intentionally dying. You can check that forum thread regularly to keep up with our latest round of account actions. Additionally, if you’ve recently reported another player for going AFK, refusing to participate, or intentionally dying, be sure to keep an eye on the email inbox associated with your account for any updates regarding actions we’ve taken against that player as a result of your report.

We’d like to thank those of you who use the relevant in-game reporting options when you spot negative behavior in your matches and encourage you to continue doing so. Your actions have the largest positive impact on the health of the community.
