Fenix Down to 10,000 Gold

Recommended Posts

Fenix's gold price has dropped to 10,000 gold this week.

The newest Hero always costs 15,000 gold for the first two weeks (after release) before being lowered to 10,000. The vast majority of Heroes costs 10,000 gold and Blizzard plans to make some of them more affordable soon. We’re still waiting for a balance update to address Fenix’s ridiculous win rate, so you may want to hold off the purchase for now.

For more information about the Hero check out our Fenix Build Guide!

Apparently someone got the patch notes before it was reverted. I copied them to paste here. Overall very happy with these nerfs. They are heavy handed (they needed to be) but they aren’t enough to make him bad at all. Besides, I think he has a great kit, and it was really just the numbers that needed tuning.

Fenix Stats

Basic Attack damage reduced from 96 to 86.
Abilities

Plasma Cutter (Q)
Damage reduced from 145 to 135.
Planet Cracker (R)
Damage increased from 105 to 108.
Talents

Level 1
Advanced Targeting (Q)
Damage bonus reduced from 0.75 to 0.5.
Maximum bonus damage reduced from 75 to 60.
Arsenal Synergy (W)
Damage bonus increased from 100% to 175%
Level 4
Emergency Protocol (Trait)
Movement Speed bonus reduced from 30% to 25%.
Level 7
Combat Advantage (Q)
Damage bonus against Slowed targets reduced from 50% to 40%.
Level 13
Auxiliary Shields (Trait)
Shield regeneration reduced from 20% to 15% of Basic Attack damage dealt.
Dampening Field (Trait)
Spell Armor increased from 15 to 20.
Rapid Recharge (Trait)
Shield recharge increased from 20% to 40% of healing received.
Level 20
Singularity Charge (W)
Repeater Cannon bonus Attack Speed increased from 50% to 100%.
Unconquered Spirit (Passive)
Shield amount increased from 600 to 800.

Developer Comment: Fenix has proven himself quite powerful, mainly due to his capability for consistent damage output. While we’re happy with how he plays, we’re making a few changes to bring his damage in line and address Talent imbalances.

Deathwing will be nerfed in a future balance patch. We're looking at more general nerfs across the board, mainly to Destroyer form, overall talent tuning, and some World Breaker buffs.

      Hey Calcaz!
We get enough data, even with a massive ban rate. Of course, as more data comes in we’re more confident with where things sit, but we have always had enough data to make educated changes before the first balance patch after a new hero release. After the first balance patch, we always have an even more clear picture of where things stand since we have that much more time for data to come in.
      Balance patch is looking good!
For Deathwing, more general nerfs across the board, particularly to Destroyer form. Also some World Breaker buffs and talent tuning.
Can’t confirm dates. Confirming dates is the path to the dark side.

It's been a while since we last heard of Kevin Johnson aka Cloaken. After leaving Blizzard, he briefly returned to narrate the Deathwing Spotlight, and recently, launched his own company called Harken Interactive. On YouTube, Kevin recently started The Listening Game Podcast, and in the first episode, he interviewed Lana Bachynski, a former Heroes Animator who now works on League of Legends at Riot Games.
Lana Bachynski is responsible for bringing characters to life through movement. Her most notable work includes animation on Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm and StarCraft II.
Kevin and Lana talk about what made the Heroes team so special and why it was so difficult to leave.
