Battle for Lordaeron in Battle for Azeroth

Battle for Lordaeron is available for testing on Battle for Azeroth Alpha and we're looking at both sides of the conflict in our preview!

Battle for Lordaeron is a scenario that will be available in the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch. It serves as a prelude to WoW's next expansion. The attack on Lordaeron takes place after the Horde allegedly burned down Teldrassil.

Alliance

The Alliance scenario starts with Anduin in Stormwind.

Quote

King Anduin Wrynn: Champions of the Alliance, the time has come for us to claim what is rightfully ours! The final push to retake Lordaeron Keep commences at dawn. The Horde and their Warchief must answer for their crimes!

You talk to Captain Angelica to queue up for the Battle for Lordaeron scenario. The first objective is to follow General Hammond Clay to Brill and charge the battlefield with Genn Greymane.

Quote

General Hammond Clay: Heroes of the Third Fleet, steel yourselves! Report to King Greymane at once! Follow me! Make haste and do not stray!

You arrive at Brill and Genn gives a speech about the Horde cowardly burning down Teldrassil.

Quote

Genn Greymane: Brothers and sisters of the Alliance, hear me! The Horde's cowardly attack on Teldrassil brought war upon us... and made clear what is truly at stake. Their warchief's goal was not to capture a single city, but to destroy our way of life... and snuff out hope for generations to come. To secure our future, the Banshee Queen must answer for her crimes. Her dark reign ends today! Together we will drive her evil from this land... and raise our banners above Lordaeron once more!

Stormwind Footmen & Teldrassil Archers and the entire army yells: For the Alliance!

Genn Greymane: Soldiers! Fall in and form ranks!

The next objective is to defend Alliance Siege Towers.

Quote

Genn Greymane: King Anduin is leading the assault! Push past the reserves and secure the battlefield!

Stormwind Priest: Heroes! We're overrun! I can't... keep them alive much longer...

Genn Greymane: Smoke is... so thick... These goblins must be stopped! Focus on the shredder!

Stormwind Footman: Champion, fetch me the cannon balls so that I may keep firing!

Anduin Wrynn: All units, to the gates! Victory for the Alliance!

The Horde now attacks you with their azerite war machine and your goal is to destroy it. After that, the Horde will start attacking Alliance forces with blight. The objective is to defend King Anduin and evacuate the wounded. Sylvanas begins raising the bodies of Alliance corpses as soldiers.

Quote

Anduin Wrynn: She's raising their bodies! We must evacuate the wounded!

Genn Greymane: The blight is too dangerous, my king! We cannot afford to--

Anduin Wrynn: The Alliance leaves no soldier behind!

Wounded Soldier: Their attacks are relentless. Thank you for your help.

Anduin Wrynn: Not this time...

Wounded Soldier: It was foolish of me to get caught away from the line. Thank you for the second chance.

Wounded Soldier: I... I think I can make it. Thank you.

Running with Anduin protects you from the blight. Wounded Soldiers have a drop-shaped health indicator icon above their heads. The Alliance forces find themselves outnumbered...

Quote

Genn Greymane: My king, our siege towers are lost! Our numbers are waning...

Anduin Wrynn: Father, help me. I need your guidance. I need...

There's a missing cutscene with Jaina arriving to aid the Alliance in battle.

Quote

Anduin Wrynn: Jaina, your timing was impeccable!

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Sorry I'm late to the party. Lend me a hand with the enemy. I'll block off the entrance so we can regroup.

Jaina creates ice barriers to hold off Horde soldiers, but there's no time to lose!

Quote

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: I don't know how long these walls will hold. We should not linger here.

Anduin Wrynn: Sound advice. We didn't give Sylvanas much time to prepare for this attack, but we can't afford to underestimate her. Everyone, fall into position. We strike on my command!

It's time to infiltrate the keep with Anduin, but Windseeker Durja blocks your way. She will cast cyclones to delay your advance.

Quote

Anduin Wrynn: Genn, I need you to cover our backs. It's too risky to funnel everyone through the side of the keep all at once. There will certainly be traps.

Genn Greymane: Agreed. I'll guard the rear flank.

Windseeker Durja: Winds of da eagle spirit gonna SCOUR YA BONES!

Anduin Wrynn: Jaina! Block the exits! Don't let them call for reinforcements!

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Let's move.

The next phase begins once you defeat Durja and her Darkspear Trolls.

Quote

Windseeker Durja: Da Warchief... will...stop ya...

Anduin Wrynn: Excellent work, everyone! Let's keep moving.

Lady Jana Proudmoore: I'm ready!

Assaulting Lordaeron City won't be easy! You suddently cross paths with Nathanos Blightcaller and his giant army. Jaina even suggests teleporting everyone to safety.

Quote

Nathanos Blightcaller: It is you who is outnumbered now.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: That army is enormous... Give the word, and I will teleport us to safety.

Anduin Wrynn: If we turn tail now, we just become prey. No. We'll fight - and die, if we must - for what we believe in!

Nathanos Blightcaller: Your time is up, King Anduin! VICTORY FOR THE FORSAKEN!

Anduin Wrynn: ALLIANCE, HOLD YOUR GROUND!

Alleria arrives to aid the Alliance with her Void Elf army and Mekkatorque.

Quote

Alleria Windrunner: Let us even the odds, King Wrynn!

Anduin Wrynn: Alleria! Thank the Light you've made it!

Alleria Windrunner: I am known for my timing, your majesty. Mekkatorque, are you ready for battle? As you wish. Champions, with me! 

High Tinker Mekkatorque: My machines are at your command!

Mekkatorque provides the Alliance forces with Flametron 5000 machines. Players use them to defeat the Horde forces. After this stage is done, it's time to find Sylvanas. Her forces are retreating and blight is blocking the path to keep up with her.

Quote

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: The Horde is falling back again? What is their strategy here?

Genn Greymane: That accursed blight blocks our path. Our forces can't follow her.

Anduin Wrynn: We can't let the warchief escape. Capturing her is the only way to win this war.

Alleria Windrunner: Understood. We will not let you go alone.

Fortunately, Mekkatorque has some gyrocopters to get you past the blight barrier.

Quote

Anduin Wrynn: Mekkatorque, can your flying machines get us past this blight?

High Tinker Mekkatorque: I don't have many of them, but the ones I do are at your disposal.

Anduin Wrynn: So be it. Champions, with me. Mekkatorque, backtrack through the keep with the rest of our forces, and station them at Brill. be ready to strike on my command.

High Tinker Mekkatorque: You've got it.

You use the gyrocopter to pursue Sylvanas and confront High Overlord Saurfang.

Quote

Anduin Wrynn: Stand aside, Saurfang. This war is not yours to bear alone, and there is no honor in killing you.

High Overlord Saurfang: Your father was a man of honor, boy. You know nothing of the sort. I will NEVER stand down! I eat, sleep, and die by the sword. What price have you paid for your people?

Anduin Wrynn: My father gave everything for the Alliance. The question is, are you willing to do the same?

High Overlord Saurfang: MY LIFE FOR THE HORDE!

The Alliance captures him and Horde players save Saurfang later in a separate scenario.

Quote

Genn Greymane: We've done it. Sylvanas will finally answer for her crimes. Champions, to my side...

Upon entering the throne room, there's a cutscene. 

Wowhead suggests that there will be a cutscene depicting Sylvanas waiting for Anduin's arrival. He gives her a chance to surrender, but she blows up the entire city instead.

Battle for Lordaeron Video Preview [Alliance PoV]

Horde

It all starts with Sylvanas giving you orders to report to Isabella in Orgrimmar. 

Quote

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Champions, the hour is at hand. The Alliance shall fall upon our blades as they desperately grasp at our prized Lordaeron Keep. Report to High Overlord Saurfang. Teach them the price of their folly. For the Horde!

Talking to her will queue you up for the scenario. The first objective is to find Saurfang.

Quote

High Overlord Saurfang: Soldiers of the Horde, the time has come! Our enemies strike against the Undercity and seek to claim Lordaeron for their own. The Undercity is no longer safe for civilians. The war rages above, and dozens of spies have infiltrated our walls. We have herded the cowards to the Mage District and have secured the rest of the city. Your mission is to flush these worms out of hiding, eliminate them, and ensure that our citizens are evacuated safely to Orgrimmar.

You'll notice a bunch of sneaky SI:7 Operatives have infiltrated the Magic Quarter and in order to secure the Mage District, they must be eradicated. Next, you'll follow Saurfang to the Heart of the City.

High Overlord Saurfang: More spies! We have them cornered!

Mirabelle: We've been compromised!

Renzik "The Shiv": I got the intel. We just gotta make it outta here with it!

Mirabelle: "Plan B" it is, then...

Renzik "The Shiv": <whistles>

High Overlord Saurfang: Find them!

Druid of the Claw: Druids of the Claw, ATTACK!

The next step is to evacuate the remainder of Undercity.

Quote

High Overlord Saurfang: The tunnels have been secured. Open the gate!

Royal Dreadguard: They sprang from the shadows. They're everywhere!

In this stage, you will continue killing Alliance Druids of the Claw to fill the bar to 100% and talk to Undercity members to evacuate them. Next, you must take the portal to meet with Sylvanas Windrunner.

Quote

High Overlord Saurfang: No time to waste! Open a portal to the keep and we will report to the warchief!

Using the portal will teleport you to the keep.

Quote

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Is the Undercity evacuated?

High Overlord Saufang: Yes, Warchief.

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Then it's time to finish this once and for all. Saurfang, rally your troops. I will prepare the azerite war machine.

High Overlord Saurfang: Champions! Your warchief commands you! It is time to take arms against the Alliance! Their numbers are strong, but we are stronger. We are the Horde! We crush those who would bring us harm! Lok'tar ogar! 

You will follow Saurfang to the battle and break the Alliance frontline. Sylvanas prepares the azerite war machine and you must defeat three waves of attackers.

Wave #1

Stormwind Footman: Riflemen! Lock and load! Advance!

Wave #2

Darnassian Sentinel: Archers, nock your arrows! Advance!

Wave #3

Quote

Mechanoranger Cogspark: Ladies and gentlemen, rev those engines! Attack!

After all three waves have been defeated, you will use blight on Alliance forces to drive them away. You can talk to the Sludge Guard and select if you only want a gask mask or a blight canister on top of that.

Quote

High Overlord Saurfang: Soldiers of the Horde! Your brothers and sisters lie wounded on the battlefield! There is no honor in this victory if we abandon our own!

You will spread blight and heal Wounded Horde Soldiers that have been infected with blight. Their current health is indicated with a drop-shaped icon above their heads.

Quote

Wounded Horde Soldier: Their attacks are relentless. Thank you for your help.

Wounded Horde Soldier: Thanks for the heal!

Wounded Horde Soldier: It was foolish of me to get caught away from the line. Thank you for the second chance.

Before you complete this stage of the scenario, you'll see the following broadcast text:

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Slay them all, champions! Mark my words, King Anduin and his army did not come here for their amusement. They mean to destroy us! Show them no mercy, for they would show you none in return!

High Overlord Saurfang: Maintain your honor, heroes. Lok-narash.

There's a placeholder cinematic that has not been implemented yet after this stage, but it probably depicts Jaina's arrival.

You learn that the Alliance have breached the wall and must follow Nathanos to the keep. High Overlord Saurfang is missing at this point when you regroup with your forces.

Quote

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Everyone, move! Cut them off with the reserves! Do NOT let them pass! Saurfang! Where did you go?

Nathanos Blightcaller: Leave it to me, Dark Lady. I will lead the reserves in the assault. The Alliance will go no further, I swear it.

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Meet with Lor'themar. QUICKLY! Do not fail me, Nathanos!

Nathanos Blightcaller: I obey, my queen. Heroes, follow me!

Nathanos tells Baine to cover the warchief.

Quote

Nathanos Blightcaller: Baine! Gather the catapults and every apothecary you can find. Send them to the keep at once!

Baine Bloodhoof: Yes, Blightcaller. But... where is Saurfang?

Nathanos Blightcaller: There is no time! We have but precious moments before we lose our terrain advantage! The chokepoint we create will funnel them through the side of the keep and thin their ranks. With us out in the open, we will outnumber them ten to one!

Baine Bloodhoof: Understood. I will meet you as soon as I can.

Nathanos Blightcaller: No. Lor'themar and I will handle the interlopers. I can't risk leaving the warchief unguarded. You are not to leave her side.

Baine Bloodhoof: How long are you expecting to hold them off? What is the warchief's strategy?

Nathanos Blightcaller: It is better if she tells you herself. Now go! Champions, with me! We rally in the keep! Your warchief commands it!

You meet up with Lor'themar.

Quote

Nathanos Blightcaller: Lor'themar, command our rangers from the flank! Position them on the rooftops!

Lor'themar Theron: With pleasure, Blightcaller.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Blight throwers, you're our front line! You will create a swath of blight between us and the enemy! Soldiers, fall into position! The Alliance approaches!

Now you must intercept the Alliance.

Quote

Nathanos Blightcaller: It is you who is outnumbered now.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: That army is enormous... Give the word, and I will teleport us to safety.

Anduin Wrynn: If we turn tail now, we just become prey. No. We'll fight - and die, if we must - for what we believe in!

Nathanos Blightcaller: Your time is up, King Anduin! VICTORY FOR THE FORSAKEN!

Anduin Wrynn: ALLIANCE, HOLD YOUR GROUND!

Alleria suddently joins the fight with her army of Void Elves and Mekkatorque, as portals begin to open.

Quote

Alleria Windrunner: Let us even the odds, King Wrynn!

High Tinker Mekkatorque: Indubitably! I brought some extra machines for backup. Feel free to give 'em a spin!

Anduin Wrynn: Jaina, Genn, help me with Blightcaller and Lor'themar. Alleria, take the rest of our troops and focus on routing the enemy army.

Alleria Windrunner: As you wish. Champions, with me!

High Tinker Mekkatorque: My machines are at your command!

The next objective is to defeat King Anduin Wrynn and his allies.

Quote

Nathanos Blightcaller: Hahaha! Look who joins the fray. Good, I was hoping you'd keep this interesting!

Alleria Windrunner: I assure you, Blightcaller, the pleasure is all mine.

Lor'themar Theron: The void elves... those traitors must be dealt with! Their assault will soon falter. Remain steadfast!

Unfortunately, the Horde must retreat yet again and follow Nathanos to the courtyard.

Quote

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Everyone! Follow Nathanos to the courtyard! I will block the Alliance from behind! Keep moving! We're almost there! Make haste, heroes! 

You find High Overlord Saurfang kneelling in the courtyard and he has quite an interesting conversation with Sylvanas.

Quote

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: So good of you to finally show up, High Overlord.

High Overlord Saurfang: I had to see it for myself. Was this your plan all along? Is this how you meant to achieve victory? This... honorless travesty?

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Honor means nothing to a corpse, Saurfang. You have the luxury of underestimating death, but it is something with which I am intimately familiar. Maybe you don't care if your people die so long as it is honorable. But to me, this Horde is worth saving. Anyone who disagrees does not deserve to stand among us. So die your warrior's death, High Overlord Saurfang. It means little to me. Perhaps I will raise your broken body to serve me once more. Or perhaps you will have a chance to say hello to your son.

Saurfang's son died at the Wrathgate back in Wrath of the Lich King and the Lich King raised his corpse to fight for him. He's a boss in Icecrown Citadel called Deathbringer Saurfang.

Saurgang is left behind and gets captured by the Alliance. In another Horde scenario, players help free him, as he's being held captured in the Stockades.

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner: Champions, with me. You are invited to bear witness to the grand finale.

Heh, doesn't look like Saurfang and Sylvanas will ever be friends after that. I still remember him crying over his son's corpse in ICC. That definitely was a strike below the belt. I wonder if he will start a rebellion against her now? Not much sense in him not dying there otherwise, I feel.

He would look really weak if he came crawling back to Sylvanas to be her lackey again. Personally I wouldn't want to see that happening. I respect him far too much for that.

As much as I love him, I think a heroic death in Lordaeron, stalwart, fearless, alone, surrounded by hundreds of foes, preferably shown in a cool cutscene, would've been the best outcome in this situation. :/

Doesn't seems as cool as the Legion prepatch open world fun, but I guess it will do for a pre-patch content. However with all the chemical attacks going on in Syria I wouldn't be suprised if they'd have to replace that toxic gas part of the scenario with *random magic*. I know the Royal Apothecary's meddlings have been part of the Warcraft universe for a long time, but the timing isn't really appropiate for that...

I am really not getting Saurfang's objections here, he must have heard of a scorched earth tactic by now? Personally as Horde I am more concered of why (most likley) the Horde do burn up Teldrassil.

I also wouldn't understand the logic behind burning down the large tree from Horde's PoV, with the sole exception of N'Zoth actually feeding from the tree's roots. In any case, if the Horde really DID do it themselves, there has to be a lot more behind it than just "I want to backstab Alliance because I can."

 

And even then I'm convinced the Horde would have a meeting with Alliance to talk about the threat beneath the tree instead of going for a blitzkrieg that just complicates things.

 

False Flag seems to be the most likely one; and/or perhaps in the vein of the Assault on Undercity after the Wrathgate event. (Which was Varimathras betraying Sylvanas)

I think there is something else...if you saw my post regarding the Saurfang / Malfurion...I think the corruption of Teldrassil never ceased to exist. With that being said, I think that opens up the opportunity of maybe Malfurion being the one to burn it down.

--Additionally: I think if all of this plays out and the Sylvanas blows up the city...I cannot disagree with what Sylvanas does...I mean the Forsaken is a large majority of Lordaeron citizens that were risen by their Fallen Prince. The Alliance had their chance to take in their undead citizens but because they couldn't fathom that the Alliance abandoned them. All in all, if this exactly how things play out, I commend her decision to destroy the whole city so alliance cannot gain it, and anyone surprised by these actions haven't played WC III, Sylvanas tactfully destroyed bridges, set up road blocks and burned down defenses to prevent Arthas from maintaining control. 

The only thing about Lordaeron that really grinds my gears a bit is the,  Genn and a few Alliance members saying its time to gain back Lordaeron for the Alliance. The Alliance abandoned the Forsaken and its people...there are people in the Forsaken that have living family members (Slyvanas being one) that are a part of the Alliance...and those family members abandoned them because they thought of them as monsters and still do. Its disgusting that the Alliance has the highest amount of Racism in the game but somehow the writers and Blizz want to model them to be the "good" guys.

Nothing is better than the Original Battle For Undercity scenario that they took out expansions ago. I wished they would've kept it for those to experience it.

      We know that Blizzard wants to replace Titanforging in Patch 8.3 with something more "twisted and corrupt". We datamined corrupted items that will be cleansed of their negative effects in Visions of N'Zoth and it seems we will also be able to alter them somehow.
      Corrupted Rings
      When Patch 8.3 became available for testing on the Public Test Realms, we reported about corrupted rings with various kiss/curse effects. What that means is they come both with a positive and negative (annoying) effect, as highlighted below:
      Corrupted Ring - Face the Truth Corrupted Ring - Last Grasp Corrupted Ring - Masochistic Corrupted Ring - Mesmerizing Corrupted Ring - Overconfident Corrupted Ring - Revel in Violence Corrupted Ring - Spontaneous Fury Corrupted Ring - Thing From Beyond Datamining suggests that we will be able to clear these items off corruption and get rid of their negative effects using a new currency from Assaults called Echoes of Oblivion.
      Echoes of Oblivion - Coalesced void essence found in and around areas touched by the Visions of N'zoth. The Rajani, Uldum Accord, and Blacktalon are all willing to barter for rare and powerful items, as well as using them to clear or alter cursed items.
      Assets
      We found the following assets associated with cursed items in the game files:

      Corrupted Cleanse Reforger

      Corrupted Character Sheet

      Corrupted Inventory Icon

      Corrupted Tooltip

      Tooltip Border Corrupted

      Tooltip Background Corrupted
      It seems we will be able to cleanse cursed items at the Chamber of Heart and MOTHER will play some role here. We have no idea how we'll be able to alter the cursed items yet, though.
      If we're going to be using Echoes of Oblivion or another currency to increase the power of items, it sounds like Reforging may be back in one way or another.

      Visions of N'Zoth is Battle for Azeroth's final major content patch, where we take the battle to N'Zoth himself and visit Ny'alotha. Our hub covers everything you need to know about Patch 8.3 and helps you stay on track if you haven't been playing the game for a while.
      Patch 8.3 Release Date
      While nothing has been officially confirmed, we think the patch is going to hit live servers on December 2019. Datamined sound files suggest that Ny'alotha, the Waking City raid, might be delayed until Patch 8.3.5 and not open immediately when Visions of N'Zoth goes live, which would delay the new Mythic+ Season as well.
      Game Director Ion Hazzikostas talked about Visions of N'Zoth in the latest Content Preview on October 7. We learned pretty much everything about the new patch, and in the following section, you're going to find its main features:
      Assaults
      Invasions return to the game once more, and this time, they're called Assaults. The Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Uldum will be periodically under assault by N'Zoth's forces, and your goal is to drive them back by completing quests and interacting with various objectives to complete the "emissary." Blizzard uses technology and everything they've learned from Mechagon and Nazjatar in this new iteration of Assaults to ensure dynamic replayability. Assaults are mandatory if you want to enter Horrific Visions.
      Initial Preview of Assaults in Visions of N'Zoth Horrific Visions
      Described as alternate realities where N'Zoth's power is ascendant, these are 1-5 player "scenarios" of Stormwind and Orgrimmar, where you need to complete various objectives for rewards. Horrific Visions revolve around a new mechanic called Sanity, which starts draining as soon as you enter a Horrific Vision. Your goal is to complete as many side objectives as possible and defeating the mini-boss before your Sanity is completely depleted.
      To help you with that, we've got Wrathion with a new Legendary Cloak and a Titanic Research Tree for Horrific Visions with perks that gradually trivialize the feature.
      Ny'alotha, the Waking City
      We will be facing N'Zoth in Ny'alotha, the new twelve-boss raid located in Uldum. It comes with a raid skip quest after you defeat the first boss and new sets up for grabs:

      New Forsaken Leadership in Patch 8.3 (Spoilers) Azshara's Bargain and the Key to Defeating N'Zoth (Spoilers) I'lgynoth's Whispers in Patch 8.3 (Analysis) N'Zoth's in-game model has been updated multiple times.
      Rewards Updates
      Visions of N'Zoth comes with two new factions, six new Essences, a brand new Mythic Season, a new Seasonal affix, Profession updates, and more that we'll cover soon.
      Heart of Azeroth will have a new Minor slot, two Stamina nodes, the maximum level increased to 85 (was 70). Coming in a later PTR update, Blizzard will be adding an infinite progression slot to aid you against N'Zoth's corruption at max level (whatever that means).
      New Allied Races: Vulpera & Mechagnomes
      Another pair of Allied Races will become available in Visions of N'Zoth. Alliance players will be able to recruit Mechagnomes, and their Horde counterpart are the Vulpera of Vol'dun.

      Goblins and Worgen received new models and animations in Patch 8.2.5, but no Heritage Armor, which is added in Patch 8.3.
      Goblin & Worgen Heritage Armor Sets Preview Auction House Overhaul
      The Auction House will be completely revamped. No more lag caused by the system being clogged with single stacks. Stackable items are no longer purchased or sold in stacks; copper is no longer displayed in the Auction House, but used for calculations. If you regularly forget the name of goods, you can create a shopping list, and more!
      Auction House Revamp Preview The Removal of Titanforging
      Ion teased the removal of Titanforging in Patch 8.3 through something more "twisted and corrupt." We found some interesting Corrupted Rings from Ny'alotha with various Kiss/Curse Effects. Based on datamining and game assets, it seems we will be able to cleanse and alter them somehow.
      Are Cursed Items the Alternative to Titanforging? Class Changes
      No patch would be complete without some class changes, and you can find all class changes planned for Visions of N'Zoth here.
      Allied Race & Pandaren Death Knights
      We found encrypted sound files of Bolvar and Mograine together with Death Knight creature textures for Allied Races and the Pandaren, and new Death Knight Swords of the Ebon Blade.
      We think Allied Races and the Pandaren will be able to roll Death Knights in the near future, and there is at least a partial revamp of the Death Knight starting area planned now that Bolvar is the Lich King. Given that the files are encrypted, it's likely that this bit will be unveiled at this year's BlizzCon.
      New Mounts
      As usual, with every content update, multiple mounts are coming with placeholder descriptions, sources, and whatnot.
      Alpaca Mounts - Presumably, new reputation mounts available for purchase at Exalted. Chalcedony Cloud Serpent - A new recolor of the existing serpent, possibly tied to the Assault on Vale. N'Zoth Serpent - New Stormsong Valley Rare Mount from the Adherent of the Abyss. Aqir Flying Mount - Mythic N'Zoth mount, maybe? Ny'alotha Allseer - Ahead of the Curve reward? Island Expedition Vendors
      In Patch 8.3, you will be able to purchase Island-specific and Invasion-specific crates for Dubloons.
      New Dubloon Vendors Selling Island Expedition and Invasion Crates 3 New World Bosses
      Blizzard is adding three new world bosses to the game, which drop item level 445 loot.

      Other minor things planned for Patch 8.3 include:
      A new PvP event where players can serve N'Zoth, similar to Talon's Vengeance. Heroic difficulty for the Darkshore Warfront. Division of Operation: Mechagon into two wings, each with Heroic and Mythic Keystone difficulties. Darkmoon Arcade, allowing you to play your favorite mini-games at the Darkmoon Faire. Deepwind Gorge updated to be a capture point map. New Battle Pets and Pet Battle Dungeon - Blackrock Depths. New Story Quests: Rie of N'Zoth ...and more!       In our next major content update, Visions of N’Zoth, we’re working on some tuning updates to a few specs that are under- and over-performing in various ways.
      Developers’ notes: Specs which excel at DoTs on multiple targets have, over the course of many tiers of content, generally had very high performance on the average. Their DPS advantage in raid encounters that play into their multi-target strength (which are relatively common) is not balanced by a comparable disadvantage in other areas. A small reduction in damage on these specs will leave them noticeably strong in the situations in which they’re strong (albeit slightly less than before), and give other specs more opportunity to stand out at other times. At the same time, a few of the Essences added in Rise of Azshara are not performing as well as we would have liked, so we’re increasing the effectiveness of some parts of them to help keep them competitive with the other Essences available.
      With the first build of the update on our Public Test Realm (PTR), you will see the following changes:
      Classes
      Druid Balance Moonfire damage and periodic damage reduced by 10%. Sunfire damage and periodic damage reduced by 10%. High Noon (Azerite Trait) damage increased by 11%. Power of the Moon (Azerite Trait) damage increased by 11%. Mage Frost Ice Lance damage increased by 20%. Developers’ note: Ice Lance damage hasn’t kept up with Icicles scaling, making builds that ignore Ice Lance possible. The intent of this change is to give Frost Mages a better incentive to use Ice Lance within their rotation, as a DPS net gain. Monk Brewmaster Stamina bonus reduced to 30% (was 35%). Stagger percentage reduced to 90% of Agility (was 105%). High Tolerance now increases the effectiveness of Stagger by 5% (was 8%). Developers’ notes: Brewmaster’s extremely high effective health against Physical damage meant that they are rarely in danger against spike damage that threatens other tanks. This should still be a strength of Brewmaster, but not by such a wide margin. Fixed a bug causing Gift of the Ox orbs to spawn too often for players with high amounts of Stamina. Mistweaver Rising Mist healing increased 30%, and now extends Heal-over-time effects by 3 seconds (was 2 seconds). [Coming in a future PTR build] Developers’ note: This talent is currently overshadowed on its row, and we want to make sure it’s competitive enough to make its unique playstyle a viable option. Life Cocoon now absorbs for 55% of the caster’s maximum health (was 1100% of the caster’s spellpower). [Coming in a future PTR build] Developers’ note: This ability had gotten weaker compared to player health pools since the start of the expansion, and this will help it better maintain its value. Windwalker Rising Sun Kick damage increased by 25%. Blackout Kick damage increased by 10%. Developers’ note: These changes are intended to help Windwalkers perform better in single-target fights. Paladin Holy Glimmer of Light (Azerite Trait) may now be applied to a maximum of 8 targets. Developers’ notes: Over the past year, builds centered around this trait have steadily pulled ahead of all other Holy Paladin playstyles, and to some extent all other healers in high-end content. This change is meant to preserve the gameplay of the trait, but limit the ability to increase its value drastically by stacking every possible bonus that reduces Holy Shock cooldown. Priest Discipline Atonement healing reduced to 50% (was 55%). Mastery: Grace effectiveness increased by 12%. Developers’ notes: Discipline’s ability to contribute both damage and healing is slightly too high for what one character can bring to a group composition. At the same time, we’re making their Mastery stat slightly more attractive. Schism now increases damage done from Priest spells and abilities only. Developers’ notes: This is intended to be consistent with other class cooldowns. Shadow Auspicious Spirits damage bonus reduced to 25% (was 50%). Fixed a bug causing Spiteful Apparitions (Azerite Trait) to be increased by 75% if you do not have Auspicious Spirits talented. Developers’ notes: The multiplicative interaction between Auspicious Spirits, Spiteful Apparitions, and Chorus of Insanity has specifically been a big part of Shadow’s damage scaling somewhat out of control at high target counts. Chorus of Insanity critical strike bonus reduced by 25%. Shadow Word: Pain damage reduced by 8%. Vampiric Touch damage reduced by 8%. Warlock Affliction Deathbolt now deals 20% of the total remaining damage of the Warlock’s damage over time effects on the target (was 30%). Developers’ note: Under certain conditions, Deathbolt provides a degree of single target burst damage that feels out of line for a spec designed around damage-over-time spells. Additionally, it has been the dominant choice for Affliction’s level 15 talent row for much of the expansion. We’re reducing its effectiveness to bring it more in line with the other two options in that row. Essences
      Worldvein Resonance Major rank 1, when used, now additionally causes you to gain +50% bonus to stats from Lifeblood Shards for 10 seconds. Vision of Perfection Proc rate increased by 12%. Unbound Force Major rank 1 damage increased by 40%. Minor rank 1 duration increased to 4 seconds (was 3 seconds). Minor rank 3 increase of duration increased to 2 seconds (was 1 second). Purification Protocol Major rank 1 damage increased by 15%. Major rank 2 now has the potential work on targets that are part of raid and dungeon encounters. Vitality Conduit We’ve rebuilt the way this Essences works, and it should be visually more impactful, as you will now see healing on your targets. As always, changes like these are a work in progress. We are likely to make further adjustments for testing throughout the PTR.

      We're revisiting Pandaria in Patch 8.3, so Blizzard added a new soft pink recolor of the good old serpent mount to the game. The source of the mount is a placeholder and unknown for now.

      The gentle Chalcedony Cloud Serpents love to play in the petals that fall in the Arboretum, coloring their scales a soft pink hue.

      It’s time for Tricky Treats, costumes, and—of course—the return of the Headless Horseman during this year’s Hallow’s End!
      Hallow’s End celebrates the break of the Forsaken from the Scourge.
      Fun and mischief reign as the Innkeepers of Azeroth give treats, and tricks, to whomever asks.
      The spookiest time of year has arrived once more, and the Headless Horseman rides forth to strike terror into the hearts and minds of Azeroth’s citizens.
      When: October 18–November 1
      Where: Trick-or-Treat throughout the inns of Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, and the Broken Isles (Dalaran) for tasty treats and currency to buy Hallow’s End delights.
      All together now! —the Headless Horseman is back to set fire to Razor Hill and Goldshire once more. You’ll need to lend a hand on the bucket brigade to put them out and face the infamous rider.
      It would be a lovely time of year to take a stroll through the Scarlet Monastery’s Graveyard if the Headless Horseman hadn’t decided to make it his new lair. If you're lucky and succeed in routing this menace from within, you may ride off with his steed.
      Throughout Hallow’s End, characters level 20-120 will be able to queue up for this ghoulish encounter in the Dungeon Finder.
      This year you’ll be able to exchange your Tricky Treats for a newly added 2018 toy:
      Headless Horseman's Hearthstone Head to Val’sharah to undertake a quest that begins with the Hag of the Crooked Tree in Bradensbrook. Follow the tale through to its culmination and you’ll receive some Tricky Treats and a chance of receiving one of four utterly bewitching hats.
      Hat of the First Sister Hat of the Second Sister Hat of the Third Sister Hat of the Youngest Sister ACHIEVEMENTS
      There are a total of 21 achievements that can be earned during this event. Completing the Meta-Achievement, Hallowed Be Thy Name, rewards the title: The Hallowed.
