Name Your Character BfA Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

So the name is Wassermelone. He's green orc so thats why name melone (green like a melon, also if you cut them in half.. They are red inside). The class is shaman (restoration) because it fits perfectly to the theme of Wassermelone.

To me that connection which is between that name and character its just more than some pixels on the screen.. It's life, it's everything.

That means... Green Orc shaman = Wassermelone ?

Gnome rogue named Stinky (puturosu). Didn't quite understand if we had to name an existing character or just provide a fun name :))

I would go with an Forsaken Outlaw Rogue named Clitoris, that way (most of the) guys would never find me. Alas, I would get flagged for sure :c So a more gentle try would be a Tauren Guardian Druid called Lawnmoower.

Oh boy, my list will be big.

Dwarf Hunter: Igorovich

This  actually a pretty interesting story. I used to work with a dude that is from a russian family and had one the most russian names I've ever seen: Igor Igorevitch Pushnoff. I was so fond of that name that when I started playing WoW again I looked at the Dwarves and felt that russian names fit them very well (even though they have that kind scottish accent), so I named my Dwarf "Igorovich" in honor to that dude I worked with. I picked "Igorovich" instead of "Igorevitch" because it sounded better.

Ever since I made a tradition of naming all my Dwarf characters with a "ich" in the end. I have a Dwarf Death Knight named "Alberich", and a Dwarf Warrior named "Tovarich" (which means "comrade" in russian).

Human Paladin: Cidolfas

I'm a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy, with Final Fantasy Tactics being my favorite game in the series. Back then I was unsure of which role I wanted to play, as my Guild was lacking pretty much... Everything. So I made a Paladin as they can fill all three roles (Tank, DPS, Healing). I named my Paladin after Cidolfas Orlandeau, a character in Final Fantasy Tactics that is known for being one of the most powerful swordsman in the realm of Ivalice (and he in fact is the most powerful character in the game, gameplay-wise). Every Final Fantasy has a "Cid", and Tactics has Cidolfas, also known as "Thunder God Cid".

However, I also named my Paladin like that as a homage to another "Cid", El Cid, who was a was a Castilian nobleman and military leader in medieval Spain, who became Castile's celebrated national heroand the protagonist of the most significant medieval Spanish epic poem, "El Cantar de Mio Cid".

As a matter of fact, I name changed my battletag to "ElCid" after playing WoW.

Pandaren Monk: Chowyumfat

A joke with the fact that Pandaren are fat and like food, and also a pun with Chow Yun-fat, the Hong Kong kung-fu actor known for  his role as Li-Mu-Bai in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", as well Sao Feng in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At the World's End".

I named him "Chowyumfat" instead of "Chowyunfat" to give greater emphasis on the food joke, with "Yum".

Draenei Paladin: Fordenaaru

I remember that the first time I heard the female Draenei /charge, where she yells "For the Naaru, for the Light!", I couldn't quite understand what she was saying, and for some reason it sounded as a single word to me. So later when I decided to make a Draenei myself, I picked the name "Fordenaaru".

Night Elf Demon Hunter: Illidamsel

Yes, I was one of the 192047812 players who made a Demon Hunter in Legion and named it after Illidan. Since I like the female Night Elves much better, I made a female and made that very stupid pun. I'm so sorry.

Gnome Mage: Stiltskin

Named after the fairytale character "Rumpelstiltskin". Back then I also planned on making a Gnome Rogue named "Rumpel" to make a pair with the Mage, but ended giving up.

Quote

Tauren Death Knight: Gamondorf

A portmanteau of "Gamon", the fabled Tauren, with "Ganondorf", the main villain of the Legend of Zelda series.

Also, once Battle for Azeroth hits I plan on making a Kul'tiran Druid named "Chucknourish".

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
