Does anyone else think that Orphea may be related to the grave keeper in some way? She is holding a coffin on her back, and as we can tell from Towers of Doom, the Raven Lord and Grave Keeper really don't like each other...

So Lady of Thorns (supposedly 'good' side) has Alliance on her side, while Raven Lord (supposedly 'bad' side) has Horde?

Of what does this remind me of..? :^)

Oh, oh, it's gotta be Towers of Do--

No, wait, I forgot Alterac existed because I never get the map. Oopsie doopsie!

There was a supposed finding in the game files at the beginning of this month during the latest patch's PTR regarding Orphea before this comic was even announced.

If those findings are true, this could mean a whole new change for Heroes of the Storm with the introduction of "original Nexus" Heroes.

Honestly, I would be okay with this. The Nexus is a place of its own. Why not allow the occasional original character in there, that have something to do with their universe? Could be interesting.

Me too, but I think it1s unlikely. An original hero would be too much of a change, I think, and even if the devs wantes to they might get vetted by the top brass. I believe Orhpea will be either a Realm Lord, or maybe an objective in a new map or Brawl.

I hope they don't start doing original heroes for this. It is antithetical to what makes this game interesting. As a sorta blizzard equivalent to smash bros it's dumb to insert original characters. It completely kills hype around new hero releases. I picture teasers going like this from now on if they go in that direction:

P1: Maybe they'll do a Diablo hero next

P2: I think they'll go with Overwatch they haven't done that in a while

P3: I hope they do a starcraft hero

*original character is revealed*

All: Who is that and why would I care?

After that there's no point to get excited for a new hero because it could just as easily be someone nobody has heard of because they are entirely original for this game.

I think Orphea will likely be in an event or a PvE brawl or both. I'm guessing that coffin on her back will have something or someone important in it.

She is really adorable. ❤️ You wanna just pick her up and give her a big squashy hug. ?

Adding some original heroes might be a good idea, depending if they can come out with a really unique kits. They've added all major SC characters, those who are a frontline combatants at least (characters like Arcturus or Valerian probably would work in a similar way to Abathur, and they probably don't want adding more weird heroes like him), so they may have room for a Nexus hero.

Other options are to keep adding more Warcraft characters and/or filling the rest of Overwatch roster. Warcraft could use some "real" gnome, tauren or demon representation, like Pit Lord, Dreadlord or Archimonde/Kil'Jaeden. They could have always added more classes from Diablo, but I guess they might aim for something more distinct, and some of Lesser Evils are probably too minor to be added (not to mention that some voice actors from back then won't return), and that leaves characters like Belial.

I'm all aboard for this whole original hero thing. What is the point of having lore and introducing new characters while you can't add them to the game? Although I'd prefer to know more lore beforehand like read few more comics and have couple more original events.

What if they made orphea the main character in the comics so that we care about her and she suddenly has lore. I agree that getting a SC2 hero would probably be cooler, but making nexus heroes and nexus maps I think would also be cool.

Heroes Developer Blizz_DWarner wrote a personal post on Reddit, thanking the community for the amazing time they've had designing the game over the 8 or so years.
      (Source)
      Hi everyone!
Just wanted to pop in and give a proper personal thank you and goodbye to all the lovelies that have kept the community alive and thriving over the years.
I’m gonna get mushy for a bit, but I feel I can’t even begin to express how much this game and its community means to me. Anyone who has worked on any artistic or creative endeavor knows that some portion of ‘you’ goes into your work and becomes inextricably written into your soul. It's painful to look back and see those freshly separated fragments of 'you' suspended in time, but that's life eh?
I started on this project some 8 or so years ago as an assistant technical designer, originally tasked with simple data implementations of the first sets of maps and heroes. Since then, I’ve touched probably every map, dozens of reworks, several core hero designs and of course several thousand bugs. This work was not spawned out of some special DWarner pocket dimension though, it occurred here, in the real (digital) world, with my hundreds of (very talented and handsome) coworkers and most importantly, you.
Despite what community consensus might state, designers are usually present in forum discussions, watching popular streams (special shoutout to FollowGrubby, CCL, and the crew of Into The Nexus) and of course sharing dank memes. All of your participation and energy helped us trudge through our difficult days (it’s still a job after all), guide our decision making, and just generally help us feel like we’re part of something more than just data fields and debug maps. We couldn’t have done it without you, so thanks, really.
If you made it this far, raise a glass of whatever and say cheers to all! Cheers to the passionate, cheers to the haters, cheers to the memers, cheers to the contrarians! Cheers to the goof leaguers, wood leaguers and the most sparkling diamonds! Cheers to the quickmatchers, cheers to the Vs AI’rs, cheers to the ppl that play every night, or only twice a year! Cheers to Spazzo and Notbelial and all the lurkers too! Cheers to CCL, the 323r’s, the 6.5r’s! Cheers to the whole damn lot of you ❤️
      Steaming hot regards,
      Blizz_DWarner
      P.S. I'll see you all in Diablo 4 ?
