The Battle for Azeroth pre-patch, presumed to drop next week, will be bringing many changes and Blizzard have detailed one of the big ones today: Communities. An additional social system, letting you join multiple social groups in addition to your guild, they will allow you to make groups and keep up with friends and family much more easily. They also work directly in the Battle.net desktop app so you won't even need to go into WoW!

With the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch, we’re introducing World of Warcraft Communities, a new feature that will let you create, manage, and join multiple groups of friends and family. Whether you have a dedicated group that just likes to role-play, a group that is all about pet battling, or another that is focused on Mythic dungeons, Communities will allow you to bring them all together—no matter what realms they’re on. Not only will you be able to participate in a variety of Community groups, but you’ll be able to maintain your membership in your guild at the same time.

You can create and manage a World of Warcraft Community through the Guilds & Communities tab (J), where you’ll also have access to Blizzard Groups. Blizzard Groups allow you to connect with cross-game friends and other players even beyond World of Warcraft via the Blizzard Battle.net desktop app; Communities are specific to the character you’re creating the community with and are great for bringing together in-game friends.

Communities you create are open to same-faction characters from any realm within your region. You’ll be able to invite characters directly, provide a code, or send an invitation link to those you would like to invite to your newly-created community. You’ll also be able to create calendar events specific to your community and use Quick Join to hop into groups together.

As a part of this new feature, players will also be able to take part in Community-specific chat (text and voice), create and manage channels, and easily switch between them right within the Community interface. The new feature also provides a chat history, which we’re also bringing to guild chat.

World of Warcraft Communities will be available soon, with the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch—stay tuned for more information.

You'll probably only be able to add B.Net friends, so unless "social" guild now start utilizing viruses that will mass invite your friends, I think you'll be fine.

Chaoswithinx cleared Torghast's Upper Reaches Layer 8 under 5 minutes and shared a video of their clear.
The player started speed-running Torghast and managed to find out some crazy strategies, which they used to clear Layer 8 in 4 minutes and 56 seconds with a Marksmanship Hunter. Congrats on the run!

While advertising boost sales in the chat channels is not against ToS, it is very annoying and by now comprises the majority of all chat that we see in the game. This is without even mentioning the Group Finder spam, which IS against ToS, is constantly being reported, but it's still there, clogging everything up and making legitimate runs harder to find (but has gotten a little better since the ban).
Luckily there's some solutions, none of them perfect, that can help out.
      Chat Channel Spam Solutions
There's a very new addon by rowaasr13 called SR13-AntiSpam, which works on the chat channels and using pattern recognition:
Then there's EasyFilter, which has a lot of advanced filtering options, but hasn't been updated in quite a while (but still works).
      Group Finder
LFGSpamFilter is a relatively simple one as well and also offers very simple reporting options.
The Premade Groups Filter addon may not have been made with this purpose in mind, but it helps! The issue is there's a lot of input needed from the player, as you'll have to enter the filters yourselves, and the sellers tend to use non-standard wording so not everything can be filtered out. You can check out some more details on how to use it here, or try some simple filters like this one suggested by chymmi:
      Bad Boy
We've talked about this one before and it covers both above categories, is an excellent all-rounder with its Group Finder and chat channel coverage, but it's also been known to miss a lot of entries. But it's definitely worth having, as it's the least fuss and gets at least some stuff out of the way.

The only ultimate solution is to install most/all of these and hope they can clean things up enough to make it tolerable, although it seems unlikely we can get rid of all of it, as boosting is a part of WoW now and isn't going anywhere, and whenever there's real money to be made, you can be sure people will push way too far and not go away any time soon.

Here we are in Castle Nathria week 7! Things have stabilized after the tuning pass from two weeks ago and we can get a proper look at the situation in the raid, as the headline is Feral climbing up very high! So we'll be taking a look at the spec, as our class guide writer talks about it and we'll also check out Elemental.
The hardly played specs for this week are the usual suspects, as Survival leads the pack with 132 logs and only Assassination is anywhere close to as low, with 275, as the other not-so-much-played hover in the 600-900 range, as Frost DK, Demonology and Arcane also didn't get much Mythic play. For comparison, the most played specs (Marksmanship and Fire) have 57,000 and 45,000 logs.
In the actual rankings we can see that Fire has surpassed Windwalker, as Feral and Arcane jumped a whole lot as well (although considering the low number of logs, that might just be an anomaly)!

95th percentile Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Feral Druid by Wordup:
      Elemental Shaman by Stormy:

And finally, let's take a look at the Heroic data as well, as there are a lot more logs present there and while the very top looks somewhat similar to Mythic, the rest is pretty jumbled.

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here.

With the second potency conduits unlocked for many companions, the options have also opened up significantly and players are now much more likely to want to swap their Soulbind than before.
Luckily, while you still have to be at a Sanctum Forge to change your Conduits, you can actually switch your Soulbinds in any resting area! Whether it's the main Torghast hall, any random inn or similar, you can swap away at your leisure! You can even swap it at the Torghast vendors or with the Kyrian Steward!
You just head to your Covenant screen (next to your minimap) and select your current Soulbind to access the menu:

You can also select different trees on this screen, and while you still can't change the specific Conduits, you can still swap them around a little on your pre-set trees, which could help (a little) with the same Soulbind for off-spec problem.

An even easier way to swap is if you're changing spec, if you have a different Soulbind on the different spec, it'll automatically switch to it as well.
While a lot of you may have known this already, hopefully it will help out at least a few players and avoid some Sanctum return-trips.

According to the latest player reports, Legacy raid scaling is still bugged two months after Shadowlands release.
A lot of players enjoy soloing old raids, be it for transmog, pets, and mounts. The problem with Shadowlands and Legacy content is that players cannot solo encounters that were easily soloable back in Battle for Azeroth.
We're now 2 expansions behind Legion, and players are incapable of soloing Mythic Nighthold, especially with getting "The Demon Within" down before being overwhelmed by the stuns and exponentially increasing damage from Parasitic Wounds. What is more, it's complicated finding groups for Legacy raids these days, so one would assume it makes sense to make content easier rather than more difficult.
In multiple interviews before the pre-patch squish, Blizzard mentioned we should be able to solo bosses that we could solo before the squish.
      Card
Some players were doing N'Zoth, and due to scaling, the raid leader refused to invite more players to the group because it would not be easy to defeat BfA's final boss.
      Card
Mackpack thinks the current trend is a clear departure from how Legacy content worked for the last 6 years. In Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard apparently introduced a hidden buff that allowed players that overleveled content by more than 10 levels to solo bosses quickly, but something went awry with 9.0 scaling.

What has your experience been with soloing Legacy content in Shadowlands so far?
