Battle Is Coming!

Even as Azeroth’s wounds are tended, the shattered trust between the Alliance and Horde now proves hardest to mend. Amidst this age-old conflict, join your allies and champion your faction’s cause.

New Events in Teldrassil and Lordaeron

Beginning the week of July 24 and continuing for three weeks leading to the launch of Battle for Azeroth on August 14, experience the escalation of all-out war in Teldrassil, and later Lordaeron. A new chapter of the relentless conflict at the heart of the Warcraft saga is unfolding, and it’s time for you to take your place on the front lines!

New Character Customizations

The war with the Burning Legion has left orcs standing tall, a new posture option available to all orc player characters. Blood Elves now have access to golden eyes, as well as a few new faces.

All of these new options are available at Barber Shops throughout Azeroth, and you can now alter your character’s skin color while you’re there.

Player versus Player

The PvP Honor and Prestige system has been updated. Your PvP progress in Legion has been converted into account-wide Honor levels, which you’ll continue to earn through PvP.

All class specializations’ PvP Talents have been revamped. Hit default hotkey ‘N’ to get a look at your PvP Talents, and default hotkey ‘H’ to see the new PvP system.

War Mode is Here

You can now enable War Mode and venture out into a world full of others who have made the same dangerous choice. Enabling War Mode provides additional bonuses:

  • All PvP Talents you’ve chosen will be available to use anywhere PvP can occur.
  • You’ll gain an additional bonus to experience while leveling up.
  • Earn additional bonus gold and Resources from World Quests.

War Mode can be toggled on or off beginning at level 20 by visiting either Orgrimmar or Stormwind and setting your preference in the Talent pane (default hotkey ‘N’). Beware! Once you venture out in War Mode, all zones will become contested, including zones such as Northshire Abbey.

Sanctuary areas will still be PvP free.

Additional War Mode features such as Bounty Hunter and Air Drops will become available in the new zones of Battle for Azeroth.

July 17, 2018 marks the end of the final Legion season of ranked PvP, and the post-season period has begun. Look for all the new PvP progression and rewards to unlock and become earnable after the launch of Battle for Azeroth in a few weeks.

Strand of the Ancients and Ashran are no longer available.

Social Features

You can now create and join cross-realm social groups in World of Warcraft. Communities make it easier for you to find and play alongside adventurers who share common interests. Hit default hotkey ‘J’ to get started.

Voice Chat is now available in all groups, Guilds, and Communities. Select the headset icon wherever you see it in game to talk with other players.

Legacy Loot Mode

Now, when you enter an instance at 10 levels or more above the maximum level of the content, Legacy Loot rules will be automatically enabled. Under Legacy Loot rules, drops will include a chance for all items that would drop for a full party or raid at the instance’s level.

Classes

Sargeras’ cruel, final blow dramatically impacted both Azeroth and all of its denizens. The power of every Artifact weapon has now been depleted. Some powers from Artifacts have now been incorporated into their specializations. Your characters that are just getting started in Legion content will still seek out and acquire Artifacts.

Statistics

In an effort to make displayed numbers more perceptible, values used for player and enemy statistics have been reduced throughout the game. This includes values such as item-level, damage, armor, health, and defense measurements.

A number of spells and talents now again activate a global cooldown when used.

Blood Elves' Arcane TorrentArcane Torrent now removes 1 beneficial effect from all nearby enemies and restores 3% of your mana (previously silenced nearby enemies and interrupted non-player characters).

All talents have been refunded for all specs.

All classes and specializations have been updated for Battle for Azeroth.

@the Icy Veins guys, any chance of making a cheat sheet of all the returning buffs and what overlap exists (IE time warp and bloodlust)?     Do multiple classes have the equiv of Sunder again, are mages/druids/priests the only way to get the buffs or are they making new consumables to replicate them?    Etc etc.

Scribes can create scrolls that replicate raid-wide buffs, but they increase a particular stat by 7%.

Just now, Sombra said:

We bring back buffs

only warrior, mage and priest ..

is blizz for real ?

the fact that almost every class had a raid buff was the reason they decided to get rid of them in the first place. also, most other classes bring enough to a raid as it is.

the last thing we need is them making everyone be able to do everything again. that's part of what ruined cataclysm for me...

I absolutely agree to this. In my view, in terms of DPS, Tank and Healing it should be balanced. Utility should also be balanced and this means some classes get a raid/group-buff to bring something in. While some classes bring battlerezz, movementspeed, grip, ... others bring buffs. I really liked it back in vanilla / BC some classes bring some special utility.

There's more class changes coming to the PTR and Visions of N'zoth, as Discipline Priests' Schism will only increase damage done from Priest effects only. For other class changes, featuring more Priest tweaks, as well as Druid, Mage, Monk, Paladin and Warlock entries, check out our initial coverage of patch 8.3.

There's been a lot of feedback on the Auction House changes introduced on the PTR and today Blizzard have responded to a lot of it, with some answers about how the AH will work in general, as well as PTR specific issues.
      Auction House (source)
We think you can do this by using a combination of the “Uncollected Only” checkbox in the filter dropdown and the Armor/Weapon categories on the left.
      ...
All versions of the same pet will be grouped in the same page. Since the auctions on that page will be mix of various levels, rarities, and stats, it’ll be up to the buyer to determine which pet they want to buy.
      ...
At this time, we’re continuing with the 48-hour max duration the WoW auction house has always had.
... Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback so far!
Here are some known issues that will be fixed on upcoming PTR builds:
Dressing Room support (CTRL click) Linking to chat (Shift click) Durations showing the wrong times Then there's a lot of responses to current issues that are either PTR specific, or will be resolved quickly:
      AH (source)
We don’t have wildcard functionality, but you can simply search for the first few words (example: Notorious Combatant’s Intuitive Staff) and it will return all items matching that.
Not at this time, but thank you for the suggestion.
The “Uncollected Only” filter will return all items that you don’t have the appearance for. As a result, you may see several items for the same appearance.
There is a “Usable Only” filter that will only show you recipes you can learn.
Not at this time, but thank you for the feedback.
Not at this time, but thank you for the suggestion.
... Thanks! We’re aware of duration displays issues, and we’re working on that right now.

In Visions of N'Zoth, you will be able to purchase crates which contain items tied to specific Islands and invasions from a new vendor. Therefore, do not spend your dubloons until Patch 8.3 hits live servers.
As you probably know, each Island has specific items tied to it ranging from battle pets, mounts, toys up to transmogs that you can get upon finishing an Island Expedition. We've datamined two categories of items that will be available for sale in Patch 8.3 from a new vendor.
The first category includes Island-specific crates which cost 175 Seafarer's Dubloons each and you can purchase three at a time, depending on the Island Expeditions that are available during that week:
Crestfall Salvage Dread Chain Salvage Havenswood Salvage Jorundall Salvage Rotting Mire Salvage Skittering Hollow Salvage Snowbloosom Salvage Molten Cay Salvage Un'gol Ruins Salvage Verdant Wilds Salvage Whispering Reef Salvage The second category are invasion-specific crates which cost 75 Seafarer's Dubloons each:
Elemental Salvage contain items from Elemental invasions. Venture Co 'Salvage' contain items from Tol'vir and Black Dragon invasions. Other Patch 8.3 Content:

Here come some more hotfixes for both retail and Classic, with the Classic side just being the already mentioned Dire Maul bug fix for stacking tribute buffs. On the BfA side we have higher chances for R4 Condensed Life-Force drops off Azshara, PvP fixes for Conflagration and more, increased gold rewards for weekly Island Expedition quests and Naga invasions for rank 70 neck holders and a lot more!

      Items
Increased the chances for someone who does not have a Rank 4 Condensed Life-Force (Essence) to loot it from Queen Azshara (Mythic difficulty). Pet Battles
Fixed an issue that allowed some battle pets to become invincible after being resurrected in battle by Finduin or Gillvanas. Player versus Player
Fixed an issue that caused Fire Mages’ Conflagration (Talent) to interfere with PvP diminishing returns on enemy targets. Resolved an issue that prevented characters that have not yet obtained their 9th weekly Conquest’s Reward from gaining the Spoils of War buff (50% bonus Conquest) during Rated Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds. Quests
The weekly Island Expeditions quests, “Azerite for the Horde ” and “Azerite for the Alliance ” now reward 2,000 gold for players with a maximum-level Heart of Azeroth (level 70). World Quests
Naga Incursions now award gold or war resources to players who can no longer progress their Heart of Azeroth (level 70). WoW Classic
The buffs obtained from the guards in Dire Maul North after completing a tribute run will no longer stack.

Ny'alotha, the Waking City is the raid where we deal with N'Zoth and his forces and the armor is obviously heavily-inspired by the Old Gods. Today, we're looking at Cloth sets from the new raid.
