It seems 8.0.1 is one of the more unstable patches launched, as in addition to the significant server problems that plagued the US and OC launches there are also many more issues that still linger. After the known issues posted yesterday we have yet more getting addressed by Blizzard, but this time with some solutions as well.

First off we have several suggestions on how to fix lost Mage Tower artifact appearances, as well as clarifications on the overall artifact transmogging system:

Blizzard LogoMage Tower Appearances (source)

Before a hotfix that we made to the game on Tuesday, July 17 at 3:30 p.m. PDT, some players in the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand may have found that the Mage Tower Artifact appearance they thought they earned had gone missing. We have some suggestions for you, if you believe this to be the case.

Check your quest logs.
If you have either the scenario quest completed, or you’re on the final quest to return to Dalaran and talk to the Council of Six, you should be able to go turn it in and obtain the appearance.

Go to The Violet Citadel.
It’s possible that one of the Council of Six has the final mage tower quest available for you. Go to Dalaran, accept the quest, stand in the circle and have your weapon upgraded, and then complete the quest. This should award the appearance.

We apologize for the confusion. Thank you very much!

Blizzard LogoArtifact transmog (source)

Since the Pre-Patch went live yesterday, we’ve seen some questions and concerns from players on several transmogrification issues. We’d like to elaborate on some details about how the system works:

Transmogging an Artifact to look like a non-Artifact from your weapon appearances collection should work as it did before.

You can now have a transmogrify vendor put an earned Artifact appearance on appropriate non-Artifact weapons belonging to characters who are of the same class and specialization as the character who earned the appearance.

However, if you wish to apply an Artifact appearance to an Artifact, you must visit the Artifact Forge in your Class Hall, and your character is restricted to appearances that were earned on that character.

Artifact appearances that come in pairs (main-hand + off-hand) cannot be separated when you’re using two items. If you apply the appearance of one of these to your main-hand item, your off-hand item will use the appearance of the other, and vice versa.

Artifact appearances that come in pairs *can* be applied to two-hand weapons. A Shadow Priest can now make a staff look like Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire.

Some Artifact appearances are so awesome that they can bypass restrictions on some weapon types. However, even though some restrictions have been lifted, other weapon restrictions remain. It is not intended that a melee weapon can be made to look like an Artifact bow or gun. Likewise, you can't make a bow/gun/wand look like an Artifact melee weapon.

When doing transmogrification, you can select a slot to alter in the character pane on the left of the window, and then *right-click* on an appearance in the right pane of the window and use “transmogrify as”. This is especially useful when you visit the transmogrifier as a Feral or Guardian Druid.

Thank you very much. We’ll continue to keep an eye on all of your questions and feedback!

We then also have another list of common issues, some with explanations and solutions:

Blizzard LogoList of common issues (source)

GAMEPLAY: DIDN'T RECEIVE EXPECTED LOOT IN MYTHIC CACHE

Known issue: Due to changes to the Mythic+ system in Battle for Azeroth, players will not receive their normal Mythic Cache loot and keystone this week. As this was unintended, we will be providing 1000 Wakening Essence as well as a Level 2 Keystone in the Mythic Cache for those who qualified for loot in the previous week. Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience!

ELOTHIR DOESN'T SHOW UP FOR VARIOUS QUESTS

Known issue: The Ancient Elothir does not spawn as required for a variety of quests, preventing players from completing the zone. We are looking to fix this issue as soon as possible.

FULLSCREEN MODE UNAVAILABLE

Not a bug: For compatibility reasons, the option to play in fullscreen has been removed from the game. Players may choose between playing in either windowed or fullscreen (windowed) mode.

UNABLE TO CLAIM GIFTED BATTLE FOR AZEROTH KEY

Under investigation: We have received reports that some players are unable to claim a gifted expansion. An investigation has been launched.

MISSING EXTRA BAG SLOTS

Under investigation: Some players that have both the Authenticator and SMS Protect enabled have reported missing the four extra bag slots. We are currently attempting to verify this issue.

Are you serious? "Compatibility reasons"? I'm going to put my foot up your ass for compatibility reasons.

Compatibility with the future of DirectX.  Microsoft is phasing out fullscreen in DirectX.

Thankfully it's still present in DX11 and DX12 and it is working just fine with games that support those.

Why don't they just drop support for anything below 4K resolution? Because DX18 is going to phase out anything below that.

Doesn't make sense to me to drop support for things that are working perfectly fine right now, with current technology. I seriously doubt Blizzard will drop DX12 support in "the near future" anyway, especially considering there's still a very large playerbase with only DX11 support.

I don't get the point. To me, it does make sense to use newer technology, otherwise WoW would still look like vanilla. There is a point where you have to move on, and this point seems to be now. What exactly is your problem to play in fullscreen (windowed) instead of normal fullscreen? To me, fullscreen (windowed) is so much more appreciated, its so much easier if you like to google and switch between game and desktop. So, are you just complaining because its gone and you were used to it or do you have any reasonable problems while playing in fullscreen (windowed)?

Windowed fullscreen for some games gives problems with FPS, multi-monitor support or streaming. Especially the former seems to be the case when it comes to WoW; people have reported fps drops of 20-30 FPS since they were forced to windowed fullscreen.

I read both, ppl having FPS drops and other having FPS increases: https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2412344-Forced-fullscreen-(window)-is-ruining-my-experience

It seems to depend on your hardware. But look, this it how it goes. If a computer is getting old, whe shouldn't blame blizzard for going with time. If FPS-Drop is due to other screen-mode or just due to graphic-model-upgrades *shrug*?

People are expecting same performance in BFA as in Legion without any hardware upgrades. This is not how it works. Just have a look at system requirements for Legion and BFA.

Why can't blizzard implement so that we can, for example, use destro warlock artifact in the affliction specialization? I think its lame that the artifact you want to transmogrify, is restricted to your specialization...

Because otherwise hybrid classes get shafted (Can't really play Retri Paladin with the Protection shield).

Yes, but then make it exclusively for some classes. Rouges, mages, locks, priests, hunters and so on would get a big deal of weapon customization, if they implemented it. Some paladins were also shocked that they couldn't get to play with The Silver Hand, (holy paladin artifact). But if they implemented this sytem, they would fix that dilemma, and add even more customization!

The full screen being no longer available is more off an annoyance but easily worked around. I just dont like how the mouse can jump to the next monitor since its much smaller going left off the main one and onto the smaller one and back jumps the mouse down 3 or 4 inches making it just a little worse to do things quickly. You can always just change your computer to run one monitor only when doing something important to get around this. Just wish that wasnt the only way to do it

It's fluffy, foxy and white, with some wings to boot. The latest 25$ store mount is the Vulpine Familiar and they're apparently "fiercely intelligent and insatiably curious", whatever that means for a WoW mount. It has a blue saddle and is vaguely horse-shaped, so it should be on the side of the Alliance, but they don't like the Vulpera much, so it's a conflicted mount to say the least.
      Vulpine Familiar (source)

The fox that won’t trick you

Fiercely intelligent and insatiably curious, this species of fox has travelled the Great Dark Beyond to seek the companionship of the greatest heroes of Azeroth. Vulpine Familiars are born daredevils, and any one of them would make a great companion on your adventures throughout Azeroth and beyond.
      Ride into Battle
      Ready to go!
Vulpine Familiar will be yours immediately after completing your purchase.
      Everyone gets one!
Once it’s activated, Vulpine Familiar will be applied to all present and future characters on a single Battle.net account. It will appear in each character’s pet and mount journal.
      Automatically upgrades
Vulpine Familiar automatically scales to the fastest riding skill known by each character. If they aren’t high enough level to use a flying mount, it will still be usable as a ground mount.
If you're interested, head on over to the store and get yours.

Here comes the big one, as yesterday's hotfixes were just a warmup and today we have the main event. We have the profession high item level requirements change from yesterday reverted, Expulsom tweaks for recipes, returning Scouting Maps, another big wave of Azerite Trait changes this time in PvE, while PvP gets a whole lot of class changes and fixes.
      December 12 (source)
      Classes
Monk Windwalker Good Karma no longer incorrectly increases Touch of Karma 's absorption.
      Dungeons and Raids
Uldir Vectis Fixed a bug causing Vectis to cast an extra Contagion prior to casting Liquefy. Items
Scouting maps that teach flight paths to your alts have returned to the Honorbound and 7th Legion vendors. Island Flotsam will now correctly change to Dented Coin s when a Horde character changes to Alliance. Dented Coins will now correctly change to Island Flotsam when an Alliance character swaps to Horde. Heart of Azeroth Fixed a bug that caused damage effects such as Laser Matrix and Ricocheting Inflatable Pyrosaw to target enemies that were crowd-controlled. Good Karma no longer incorrectly increases Touch of Karma 's absorption. Healing from Glimmer of Light is now correctly modified by Mastery: Lightbringer . Echoing Blades ’ Fan of Knives explosion now always critically hits. Its base damage has been reduced by 75%. Developers’ note: This change allows the trait to scale with the talent Master Assassin in a more reasonable way. The total reduction of the Echo comes out to around 50%, with some variance depending on your Critical Strike chance. Missions
Fixed a bug that caused Treasure Map missions to expire in 8 hours. They now expire in 72 hours. Developers’ note: This won’t affect missions that are currently in a player’s mission list, only newly-created missions. Professions

Death Knight Unholy Fixed an issue that caused the Zombie summoned by Reanimation (PvP Talent) to have more health than 5. Fixed a bug that caused Necrotic Strike 's initial damage to not be increased by Mastery: Dreadblade . Fixed a bug that could cause Necrotic Strike to apply too large of a healing absorb against non-player targets. Fixed a bug that caused the heal generated by Life and Death (PvP Talent) to be a critical heal. Fixed a bug that caused the heal of Life and Death to be larger than 10% of a heal cast on a target with your Festering Wound . Paladin Holy Cleanse the Weak will no longer incorrectly cause Cleanse to go on cooldown when it removes effects from friendly targets. Retribution Templar's Verdict and Divine Storm no longer deal reduced damage to enemy players. Priest Discipline Resolved an issue that caused Power Word: Shield 's value to be lower than intended when engaged in combat with enemy players. Power Word: Shield absorbs an additional 10% when engaged in combat with enemy players. Developers’ note: Shadow Priests’ Power Word: Shield was unaffected by the above and is unchanged. Shadow Fixed a bug that caused Greater Fade to be removed by Shadowy Apparitions . Rogue Fixed a bug that caused Vanish to end before the normal duration when taking damage and harmful effects. Assassination, Subtlety Fixed a bug that caused Subterfuge to not be applied when attacking during Vanish. World Quests
Captured Zandalari no longer knockback NPCs during “Azerite Mining ”. Fixed an issue where Fozruk can sometimes fail to grant you World Quest credit. Fixed a bug that could remove a player from their manasaber mount on “Ley Race ”. Previous hotfixes.

Redditor Makesmashgreatagain noticed after 8.1 went live that ilvl 385 crafted items no longer work if you abandoned the profession used to craft them.
Update: This was an unintended bug that was recently reverted.
Placeholder for tweet 1072993206856380416 Emblazoned Deep Sea Breeches now require Zandalari Tailoring (110) as depicted in the screenshot below. The player switched to Alchemy/Enchanting and after Tides of Vengeance, the crafted item was red and gave no stats. The change was omitted from the official patch notes. We don't know at this time if it's just a bug or intended.

Blizzard recently announced improvements to Azerite Armor acquisition from Mythic+. You can find more details here. Heritage Armor will be added for non-Allied Races; Blood Elves & Dwarves are first on the list. There's no reputation grind behind this. If you're at max level and Exalted with Ironforge/Blood Elves, you can start the quest and complete a scenario to get your Heritage Armor. Reputation Paragon for BfA factions is coming. Champions of Azeroth reputation will be made account-wide. Incursions are a new feature similar to Legion assaults. Darkshore Warfront (Night Elves vs Forsaken theme) The outdoor zone will be updated just like Arathi Highlands with new quests, rares, etc. War Campaign continues with the Alliance leading a direct strike at the Zandalari Fleet. We can expect two new raids in 8.1: Siege of Zuldazar is a nine-boss raid where the foe is the opposing faction. Alliance players will join Jaina and her forces to fight their way up to the pyramid to confront Rastakhan. Horde players will try to defend the pyramid, fighting Jaina in the High Seas as the final boss. Crucible of Storms is a two-boss raid located under Shrine of the Storm that hints at Queen Azshara. It's Battle for Azeroth's "Trial of Valor" raid. Allied Races: Kul Tirans and Zandalari Trolls will become available for gameplay after the Siege of Zuldazar raid. You can find more details about how to unlock them here. Two New Islands: Jorundall (Vrykul-themed Island) & Havenswood (Gilnean-themed Island) Gnomeregan Pet Battle Dungeon Profession Changes New Scenarios Tyrande's Ascension - players will unlok new Night Elf Warrior customization options with dark eyes. Allied Races
You will be able to unlock Legion Allied Races faster in Patch 8.1.
      Class Changes
Multiple Classes are subject to changes in Patch 8.1. These include Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests, and Protection Warriors. So far, Blizzard outlined plans for Elemental Shamans. They haven't decided what to do with Protection Warriors just yet.
      Elemental Shaman Changes Model Updates
Draenei totems received new models with a higher polygon count in 8.1.
