Whitemane is now available for testing on PTR and this article contains everything you need to know about the High Inquisitor.

High Inquisitor Whitemane (Ranged Support)

As the High Inquisitor of the Scarlet Crusade, Sally Whitemane zealously leads her champions in a never-ending war against the undead. Under her guiding Light, all who have been touched by the plague of death will be purged by her cleansing flame… even those who attempt to hide in the Nexus!

Whitemane Abilities

[Trait] Zeal

Whitemane's healing Abilities apply Zeal for 8 seconds. Allies with Zeal are healed for 100% of the damage Whitemane deals to Heroes.

[Q] Desperate Plea (Mana: 30)

Heal an allied Hero for 145 and gain Desperation for 4 seconds. Desperation increases Desperate Plea's Mana cost by 60, and stacks up to 3 times.

[W] Inquisition (Cooldown: 14 seconds)

Channel on an enemy Hero for up to 3 seconds, dealing 53 damage every 0.5 seconds and Slowing them by 30%.

[E] Searing Lash (Cooldown: 5 seconds)

After 0.5 seconds, smite enemies in a straight line for 82 damage. If the first strike hits an enemy Hero, a second strike will occur after a short delay.

[R1] - Scarlet Aegis (Cooldown: 60 seconds)

Bolster the spirits of nearby allied Heroes, healing them for 250 and granting them 40 Armor for 4 seconds.

[R2] - Divine Reckoning (Cooldown: 100 seconds)

After 1 second, consecrate an area for 4 seconds, dealing 50 damage every 0.5 seconds to enemies inside.

Whitemane Talents

Level 1

  • [Q] Martyrdom - Each stack of Desperation increases Plea's healing by 30%.
  • [W] Clemency - Activate to cast Inquisition on an allied Hero, healing them for up to 371 over 3 seconds while Channeling. Passive: Reduce Inquisition's cooldown by 3 seconds.
  • [E] Righteous Flame - Searing Lash deals 50% more damage to enemies who are Stunned, Rooted, Silenced, or Slowed.
  • [Trait] Pity the Frail - Allies below 50% Health receive 25% more healing from Zeal.

Level 4

  • [Q] Unwavering Faith - Reduce Desperate Plea's Mana cost by 30%. Upon reaching 3 stacks of Desperation, gain 250 Shield for 5 seconds.
  • [W] High Inquisitor - Casting Inquisition instantly removes all stacks of Desperation and restores 60 Mana per stack removed.
  • [E] Indulgence - Searing Lash's first strike restores 10 Mana per Hero hit, and its second strike restores 30 Mana per Hero hit.

Level 7

  • [Q] Zealous Spirit - Upon reaching 2 stacks of Desperation, Whitemane gains Zeal.
  • [Active] Fanatical Power (Cooldown: 30 seconds) - Activate to gain 50% Spell Power and lose 25 Armor for 5 seconds.
  • [Active] Intercession (Cooldown: 60 seconds) - Activate to make an ally Unstoppable for 1 second and gain 1 stack of Desperation.

Level 13

  • [Q] Self-Righteous - Casting Desperate Plea on an ally heals Whitemane for 125. Does not grant Zeal.
  • [E] Harsh Discipline - Hitting a Hero with Searing Lash while they are being targeted by Inquisition Roots them for 1.5 seconds.
  • [Trait] Guiding Light - Whenever Zeal is applied to allies other than Whitemane, it grants them 20% Movement Speed for 2 seconds.

Level 16

  • [Q] Radiance - Upon reaching 3 stacks of Desperation, all allies with Zeal are healed for 200.
  • [W] Shared Punishment - Upon casting, Inquisition can chain to an additional enemy Hero near its target, dealing 35 damage every 0.5 seconds.
  • [E] Lashing Out - Searing Lash's second strike deals 25% more damage and reduces Searing Lash's cooldown to 1 second if it hits a Hero.

Level 20

  • [R1] Scarlet Crusade - Scarlet Aegis heals for 50% more and makes affected allies Unstoppable for 1 second.
  • [R2] Judgment Day - Divine Reckoning deals 50% more damage and pulls enemies to its center the first time it hits them.
  • [W] Subjugation - Inquisition reduces all damage the target deals by 75%.
  • [Active] Purge the Wicked (Cooldown: 40 seconds) - Activate to blast an enemy Hero with holy fire, reducing their Armor by 25 and dealing 300 damage over 4 seconds.

Her level 4 talents really help her a lot with her mana issues. Plus a cleanse and a heal at the same time

Severely dissapointed by the absence of "Power Word: X" talents :(
Also I'm starting to get why the other "damage into healing" support was heavily nerfed recently, especially seeing her having a 'standart' form of lvl7 cleanse.

q-build does some crazy burst heal but doubt it will see much play going oom so fast, 

seems like clemency at lvl 1, high inquisitor at lvl 4 wil be mandatory for sustain. Harsh Discipline at lvl 13 also seems a must that root is basicly her only hard cc.

her 16 seems weird to me radiance and shared punishments healing output is basicly the same with one burst and other over 3s. but with shared punishment you can 2 root enemies and at 20 you can debuf 2 enemies with -75% dmg seems huge to me. No reason to pick radiance,

seems speccing into w is the way to go, no idea why you would ever want to build into searing lash, If they didn't kill double sup half a year back i would understand it but now....

But my top favorite happens around 1:31, which references something no one expects.

Completely agreed, the writers at Blizz at least know their references.

Nice, I want to try the W build, seems to be quite interesting, since Clemency stacks with Shared Punishment and Subjugation for healz+damage+damage reduction even when out of range from the enemy. Not that hyped about her E build, tho, because I think ti will be difficult to hit twice without extra CC. Seems overall balanced.

@edit: after fooling around with her for a while, her sustain might be a problem. The healing numbers are quite high, but only if you can attack enemy heroes, since her trait doesn't proc on minions and the like (different from Auriel). So on maps like Shrines or Braxis, if no opponent heroes are contesting/pushing with the objective (if maybe they decide to push a different lane), your healing potential is severely crippled. You are not much help on merc camps or lane pushing either.

Looking over things, and trying her on the PTR, I think that people are right in her going with a W build is the best. The ones I found worked the best were these.

Lv1. Clemency. Not only does it give the option to heal well without being in combat, it also reduced the CD of Inquisition by 3 seconds. Considering how important that ability is, it's huge.

Lv4. High Inquisitor. Combined with a few otger talents  you can quickly get 4 pleas out, then regain all the mana you spend. Works especially well with Clemency, as it also procs the mana return when you heal an Ally with Inquisition, plus the CD reduction.

Lv7. Zealous Spirit. Helps with group healing, though if there's a lot of CC's, Intercession can shine.

Lv10. Scarlet Aegis. Burst healing and 40 armor? Yes please.

Lv13. Self-righteousness. I know some like the root combo one, but it seems less efficient than gettings heals when you heal others. Especially with all the movement abilities in the game.

Lv16. Radiance. Nice bit of burst healing, and with Zealous Spirit, you can get 4 people healed at once. Great for groups.

Lv20. Purge the Wicked generally, but Subjugation and Scarlet Crusade can be good for either control of a burst damage dealer, or plenty of CC's

Lvl 4 talent high inquisitor will probably need a nerf. You can triple cast q, remove desperation stacks and immediately triple cast again if needed. That’s a lot of healing. Like... a lot.

other things that stand out is her ultimates. The damaging one seems underwhelming and the healing seems overwhelming.

I do like her talent diversity. She has many interesting talents that sound fun.

Actually, some people did the math on Reddit and Divine Reckoning has higher DPS (100/s) than MaelstromMaelstrom and StarfallStarfall, so if you can follow some CC you will pack quite a punch, something the lvl 20 update actually gives you. And remember that you will heal 100% of the total damage to every enemy hero affected to all your Zeal targets. In a lucky situation, you might be healing 3 or more allies for 2500 hp/s, if you hit the whole enemy team. It is hard to compete with burst heal, armor and cleanse from Scarlet Aegis, but I don't think it's undertuned at all.

On an unrelated note, I love how she cackles manically when using Inquisition, but will instead snicker condescendingly when healing with Clemency.

Good points. I didn’t really think about her trait in conjunction with the ult. I think the key is the requirement of cc. Aegis is ridiculous though, and will put zeal on everyone close enough. 40 armor seems obsurd and unstoppable at level 20 seems over the top. An unstoppable team with 40 Armour freshly healed.

      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Tumors, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions.       Players will now receive an announcement when a quest milestone is reached. This will only announce to the player who achieved the milestone. Ranges of abilities on numerous Heroes have been updated to be more consistent. This may cause certain abilities ranges to reduce or increase.       Map Updates
      General A new Fallback Tower has been added to the longer lanes on each of the following battleground maps. This new tower will die when its corresponding Fort dies: Alterac Pass, Battlefield of Eternity, Blackheart's Bay, Braxis Holdout, Cursed Hollow, Dragon Shire, Garden of Terror, Hanamura Temple, Infernal Shrines, Sky Temple, Tomb of the Spider Queen, Volskaya Foundry, and Warhead Junction. Attacks from the Core, Keeps, Forts, Fallback Towers, and Towers near Keeps will now reduce Hero armor, and the reduction has been increased from -10/-20 Armor to -20/-40 Armor. Fallback Towers have the same HP and Attack Damage as Keep Towers. Forts, Keeps, and the Core will no longer grant Allied Heroes that take damage in their radius 35 Armor for 4 seconds. The comeback system has been slightly magnified, particularly at wide level gaps. Alterac Pass Objective capture timer reduced by 5 seconds in each phase. The first phase only spawns a single defending unit. Cavalry now gain more health in the later stages of the game. Cavalry now take 60% damage from structures (up from 50%). Braxis Holdout Early objectives have lowered in health by 15%, but scaling has been increased significantly after 15 minutes. Garden of Terror Garden Terror health scaling increased. Garden Terror structure disabling plant bulb now damages itself at 10% per second (up from 6%). Infernal Shrines Early objectives have lowered in health by 15%, but scaling has been increased significantly after 15 minutes. Warhead Junction Nuke damage has been changed to flat, scaling damage. Scaling is updated when a Warhead is picked up. Nukes now deal double damage versus Forts, Keeps, and the Core. Return to Top

      Level 1 Dishonorable Discharge REWORK: No longer reduces CD. Bonuses are now provided at 20/45/75 hits. At 20 hits, gain 30% damage. At 45 hits, gain an additional 75% damage and reduce the cooldown by 2 seconds. Pinnacle Reward: At 75 hits, Lightning Rod provides 2 additional strikes and Stuns for 1.25s on its last strike. Frequent Flyer REWORK: Reduced attack speed bonus from 40% to 25%. Now provides 1 stack per minion and 5 stacks per Hero. At 50 stacks, gain 20 Attack Damage. At 125 stacks, gain an additional 50 Attack Damage. Pinnacle Reward: At 300 stacks, gain an additional 125 Attack Damage. Gathering Storm REWORK: Bonuses are now provided at 30/80/150 stacks, rather than incremental gains. At 30 stacks, gain 30% damage. At 80 stacks, gain an additional 50% damage. Pinnacle Reward: At 150 stacks, gain an additional 70% damage. REWORK: Lose 8 stacks on death, but can not lose milestones that have already been completed. Stukov Level 1 Reactive Ballistospores Fixed Reactive Ballistospores tooltip. Tychus Base Overkill [Q] Overkill retarget can now also be targeted in a direction. When clicking near or on a target, it will attach to that target, but if no targets are nearby, Overkill will start firing in that direction. If Overkill hits a target while firing in a direction, that target will become Overkill's primary target. If Overkill is active when there are no possible targets, Overkill will no longer be cancelled, and instead will start firing in the direction of the last primary target. Fixed an issue that caused mounting to not interrupt Overkill. Valla Base Hatred [D] Fixed Hatred Tooltip. Level 20 Storm of Vengeance Fixed an issue that caused Storm of Vengeance to not grant 2% Attack Speed per Hatred stack. Zagara Level 1 Infest Fixed Infest active current bonus tooltip.
