XP Needed to Level Reduction Hotfix Is Live

Recommended Posts

RoifQeB.jpg

The ongoing issue of leveling speed and difficulty is still being addressed by Blizzard and, in addition to last Friday's hotfixes already having reduced creature HP and damage, today we're getting lowered experience requirements for levels 40-100. While that certainly helps a lot, it probably won't be the last of the leveling changes that have been happening ever since the squsih went live. The actual numbers of the XP change will come later today, when the full hotfixe notes are released.

Very fun to see this now after literally hitting 110 on my third and probably final post 7.3.5 alt yesterday. ?

Well, you knew the fixes were coming, and there's plenty of time left to BfA. Could've just waited, you're not in a hurry.

No, i would not have had time to level up three characters from 1-110(1/3 from 20-110) in the span of 2 weeks and i was not aware there would be any XP needed nerfs. When BfA hits i want to be making my way to 120 and preparing myself for raids/M+, not slogging through old quest content. Hence why i definitely won't be making any dark irons or mag'har until we hit a content drought.

I was really hyped for the dark irons in particular and was kind of planning on maining one but i just find the implementation of those allied races to be so incomprihensibly stupid. In order for you to main one and not lose out on the heritage armor(which lets be honest, is one of the main selling points of the allied races) you have to first level a character you have no plans on maining to 120, slog through more time gated garrison garbage and rep grind by doing WQ's only to then create your new main, go back down to level 20 and level through old content you've done to death while everyone leaves you behind. It's absurd from from a design standpoint. Especially when you consider the fact that the majority of the dark iron dwarves are already in the alliance under Moira.

This update should've come months ago, at this point i suspect most people are done leveling their alts/buying their boosts so i feel like squishing the XP needed now is a bit of a dirty move and i definitely think it was a calculated move.

Anyways, that's what i think about this ordeal, my original post was mostly meant as a lighthearted joke, i don't really feel cheated or regret leveling my alts. I doubt the squish is gonna make it that much faster anyways and i enjoy my leveling. It's something relaxing that you can do half-asleep with your hands tied behind your back while doing something else.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale

We've looked at the Mythic+ Tier List for the first time in Patch 10.2.6!
