Horde players have now donated enough resources in the contribution phase to launch an assault on Arathi Highlands!

Unlocking Warfronts

If you're not able to click the table and queue up for the battle, chances are you haven't completed the introductory quest Touring the Front yet. Talk to Portal Master Druza Netherfang for a port to Arathi Highlands, complete the tour, and return to the Port of Zandalar (Back to Zuldazar). Turn in the second quest to unlock Warfront: The Battle for StromgardeWarfront: The Battle for Stromgarde.

Battle for Stromgarde

Starting today, NA Horde players are able to queue up for the Warfront for the next 7 days. Thok will have a quest for you Warfront: The Battle for Stromgarde that rewards Warfronts Equipment CacheWarfronts Equipment Cache (contains a piece of ilvl 370 gear) and 750 Artifact Power. Completing the Warfront yields an additional ilvl 340 piece of loot.

War is HellWar is Hell is the achievement you'll get after completing the Warfront. The Alliance still controls the area and Horde will have to wait 7 days before they unlock the world boss and quests.

Gearing Up in Warfronts

You'll receive a piece of ilvl 340 loot that can titanforge every time you complete the Warfront. We don't know if this is intended at this time.

Well done two, pretty much a face roll zerg fest, done in 20mins each time. Could be its because the people who want it done are doing it, but seems incredibly easy. I don't think I'll be doing it again until I can get another decent ilevel reward because it's not really compelling game play.

I liked it and I really enjoyed the small nostalgic feeling that I got when I use to play the original Warcraft: 1-3 series while running this WarFront.  Ran  my main and an alt through numerous times tonight and gotten some nice pieces of gear as upgrades.  I would like to see this become advance with queue selections ranging from Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and PvP.  But will have to wait and see I suppose.

The problem with Warfronts is that it‘s essentially trading time for 340+ Loot without any skill involved.

Just play for 20 to 30 minutes and you‘ll eventually win, it is no real challenge as it should‘ve been.

I mean, I like the idea a lot as I was a big fan of the RTS, but the execution in game is questionable. At lest until they implement heroic and mythic Warfronts with stronger trash that can actually beat you and maybe some of that new Island AI.

This way you‘d be forced to play tactically, assign roles and objectives to your team and follow said commands or you lose. Also, I suggest something like a Commander Mode with one Player having an overview over the map and being able to use resources after players put them in some sort of chest.

Pvp could make it so fun, but now it's just a timesink for items. "random" encounters are not fun at all cuz they don't influence anything, and it's way too onesided. Oh ye, and also one side getting free additional world boss at start of the raid is just messy from blizz side. I could understand if it would be like Winterghasp, where you can actually influence the outcome, so the both sides can access the content, but it being time-gated is just wrong,

You could say the exact same thing about LFR.

I do agree on the fact it might get repeative. Still a decent way to gear up alts though.

This is the simplest version possible of the Warfront new content. Think of it as a beta testing of the base mechanics. If reception of the base gameplay is good and what players complain about is repetitiveness / lack of challenge, I'm quite sure Blizzard will be happy to provide mythic / PvP versions with better rewards later :)

Didn't we already do beta testing? Pretty sure I paid £40 plus £10 game time to, you know, play a finished game.

Island Expeditions: fun
Warfronts: not fun

It's 1 hit, 1 miss for the new gamemods - It's not the end of the world, but I just don't see where the Warfronts could improve. Even a more difficult version would still be pretty linear - you can't make picking up resources from a cart or cutting down a tree more challenging (btw - didn't the developers learn in WoD, that wood collecting is boring?). Maybe they should try mixing the 2 gamemodes - so the factions land on a randomized island, set up their camps and start a war for controlling it in a tower-defense way, while various encounters spawn on the map.

How do you get gears from warfront?

I just found a worldboss there that dropped 370 ilvl gear, and few quests which mostly awarded resources and 1one 340 ilvl gear. How else we get gear from here?

Think you're meant to spam them - have seen a post elsewhere someone's done >15 WF runs. Only get World Boss once, but each run delivers +340ilvl item (with warforging / titan forging / rng). Apparently circa 20min each run even with AKF'ers.

You mean click that portal to go back and do what, if the World boss is already down once?

The very first day of the Mythic Eternal Palace progress race was an interesting one, as it stood in stark contrast to the last big raid we had, with only three bosses down! The last larger raid, Battle of Dazar'alor, had 9 bosses, but 8 of them were cleared on the very first day, and while Crucible of Storms was much better in that regard, with only two bosses it was hard to judge what it meant for future pre-endboss difficulty. Today we've seen some serious opposition in the form of Lady Ashvane, the Eternal Palace's fourth boss, who has definitely proven her worth to Queen Azshara and then some, as she's defended the Palace very well and left the bosses dead count on 3 for day 1.

The US part of the race started on time and we had Limit and Big Dumb Guild go for it from the very beginning, with Limit taking the first and second kills of the raid - downing Abyssal Commander Sivara and Radiance of Azshara first. But it was actually BDG that got to that 3/8 first, as they used a different route and went from Sivara to Blackwater Behemoth, whom they killed World First, and then cleared Radiance of Azshara some 10 minutes before Limit downed Behemoth.

It seems 10 minutes was the standard gap between kills, as both guilds were only alone on 3/8 for  another 10 when Midwinter joined them, with Vision and Blood Legion arriving at the same place 10 minutes after that. Intern Made This Boss and Nerd Crew were the next two to join the top group, but the 3/8 cluster stopped growing for a couple of hours after that.

Lady Ashvane proved to be quite the wall as the top guilds eventually went for Heroic splits for more gear, but still failed to down her before they finished up for the day, making her join the Restless Cabal as the hardest non endboss encounter in BfA so far. She still hasn't died so it seems likely she'll take that throne away from Cabal soon, but we've yet to see what the EU guilds throw at her. We know Limit got Ashvane to 27% with a 20% shield as well.
Interestingly, at the end of the day we had the most guilds with three bosses down at 46, with 24 on two and 34 ith one. It's now time for the EU servers to come up and for Pieces and Method to have their clash, with the possibility of some new EU contender jumping to the top instead.
You can follow the Eternal Palace race in many places this time around, from Method's site progress coverage, to the two live stream events hosted by Red Bull and Method as well.

There was a bug with the Conflict and Strife Essence earlier today. 1,000 PvP rating is needed to unlock Rank 2, but players who opened their PvP Chest and met the requirements didn't receive anything after maintenance. A hotfix went out to fix the issue and all you need to do is log out and log back into the game to trigger the fix.
Conflict and Strife is a PvP Essence gated behind Season 3 in Rise of Azshara. It allows you to use a predetermined Honor Talent in PvE. You can find out more about Essences in our Heart of Azeroth Essence guide.
      Blizzard (Source)
The tool tip for Conflict and Strife says that you need to get Conquest cap to get rank one and for rank two you need 1k rating. I hit 1k rating before getting conquest cap so shouldn’t that allow me to skip straight to rank two? I pose this question because I only got rank one in my pvp chest and from my perspective it’s an error.
About five minutes ago, we deployed a fix for the reward side of this. Players who opened their PvP cache earlier should log out and then log back into WoW to trigger the fix.
      Thank you!
