WoW Classic at Home BlizzCon Demo, Faction Cloaks and Banners with Virtual Ticket

Recommended Posts

It seems this year's BlizzCon virtual ticket beats all others and will be more than validating its increased cost, as we're getting to play the first demo of WoW Classic! You won't have to be at the con to play it either, as all virtual ticket holders will get to play the same demo that'll be shown on the show floor, starting on November 2 on or around 1pm PDT and lasting until 10am PST on November 8!

We're also getting some in-game cosmetics with a ticket purchase, featuring faction themed cloaks and banners, among many other things for all Blizzard games.

The BlizzCon 2018 Virtual Ticket is now available for purchase and if you’re a World of Warcraft fan you won’t want to miss a moment of the event—or the WoW extras that come with it, including epic in-game goodies and access to the Blizzcon WoW Classic demo at home!

World of Warcraft® Classic BlizzCon® Demo

Every BlizzCon, we look for opportunities to bring new aspects of the experience to our community around the world. This year, we’re excited to announce that for the first time ever, BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders will join BlizzCon attendees as the first people to play the World of Warcraft Classic demo we’re creating for BlizzCon at home.

Shortly after the BlizzCon opening ceremony on November 2 (on or around 1pm PDT), players will be able to download the same in-development BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo that will be playable on the show floor. Players will have a chance to explore and enjoy a limited questing experience through a pair of classic early-level zones—one Horde and one Alliance—and experience firsthand our recreation of the original Azeroth.

Once the demo is live, you’ll be able to play until 10am PST on November 8, giving BlizzCon attendees a chance to check it out again once they get back home.

Declare Your Allegiance With BlizzCon In-Game Loot

In addition to access to the BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo, starting today BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket holders will receive commemorative in-game items that will help them proudly display their Horde or Alliance pride as the Battle for Azeroth rages on:

  • War Mantle of the Alliance & War Mantle of the Horde: Show all of Azeroth where your allegiance lies with a pair of faction-themed cosmetic cloaks—one for Horde characters, and one for Alliance.
  • Stormwind Champion’s War Banner & Orgrimmar Hero’s War Banner: Strike fear into your enemies and stand your ground when you plant your faction’s banner on the battlefield.

In addition to this year’s WoW items and access to the BlizzCon WoW Classic demo, the Virtual Ticket provides plenty of great BlizzCon content for your viewing pleasure along with additional in-game goodies from Overwatch®, Diablo® III, Hearthstone®, Heroes of the Storm®, and StarCraft® II.

Those virtual ticket rewards are horrendous. Literally nothing compared to what they gave in the past, and they raised the cost of the ticket. Am I missing something here?

Woo, pay loads of money for a demo of an old game that really is only good to people still wearing their nostalgia goggles.

no other mmo could even come close to how good WoW was in 2004 so yes many people want to re-play the game that got them into mmos

One zone?  Are they going to do a starting area?

I can tell you that while I thought Elwynn Forest went on forever when I first logged in I don’t want to play one zone of vanilla again and call it a day.  Doesn’t matter which zone.

This is one guaranteed fail strategy IMHO.  It will do nothing but show just how dumb a game WoW was when taken in small bites.  The community mattered as much if not more than the game.  That of course doesn’t matter or exist anymore.

No single zone of vanilla will make people oooooh and aaaaah and make them sign up.

While I agree with the Nostalgia goggles thing, you're getting more than just the one zone of Vanilla demo for a blizzcon ticket because you get other things too.

Also, there are definitely people that are going to want to experience what all this hype is, and use this demo as a way to gauge if they would actually want to play classic wow or not. Especially the people that were already getting the blizzcon ticket anyways and think "hey, why not"

Gut: Hey man, I don't trust this staggered release announcements for the in game items, maybe we should wait.

Brain: Nah man, we own all the games we're gonna get loot for and the WoW stuff is awesome, did you forget about murkidan and our mounts?

Ok guys I'll just blind buy it.

*Today*
WHY DID I LISTEN TO YOU BRAIN!?!

No mounts, no pets, crummy in game items, and a demo for a version of WoW I never want to go back to.

The ticket isn't for the in game rewards, it's to access Blizzcon from home and they've added more in terms of come control. If you're buying it just for the in game rewards then you are doing it wrong.

Gee, it's like there's an event tied to the ticket or something...

No. You're doing it wrong. We can get access to the information from the panels from numerous websites, this lovely place included. We however can only get access to the in game goodies through the virtual ticket, heck even this years irl loot bag is weaker than previous years.

Sure, if you want to read the text instead of watching it live, as well as having access to every panel that's happening that weekend.

Okay, and? There's been a couple of years that I didn't buy the virtual ticket, and missing out on those items didn't bother me at all.

Then don't buy it. #consumerschoice #votewithyourwallet #sickofentitlement

I don't think the rewards are enough to spend the 50 bucks for the virtual ticket, WoW players get a cloak and banner and the ability to play a demo of a game that was released 14 years ago.

As a Vanilla Vet, the only thing that I am looking forward to with Classic is seeing the world again prior to the Cataclysm. Other than that the difficulty/leveling/class control/balancing/drop complaints that have put some people in a nootin pantsy for BfA, isn't really different than what we had in 2004-5.

I think a lot of the younger generation that is playing today hear about how great Vanilla was compared to today and want to see that, which is cool but I think we should all be prepared for what we sacrifice. I remember taking forever to hit higher levels because the exp rate was so low to accommodate for 60 levels. Unlike today, hitting Level 10 was a feat. The fastest level 60 on my server took 3 weeks while people with casual play took roughly around a month or a month and a half to hit max. I know people have been running with private servers and all that which could have perks/down perks or streamline the game as it was.

I know for myself that I am kind of on the fence about Classic because of all the time it generally consumes compared to the modern version of the game. Going from zone to zone to complete quests without a mount prior to level 40 was a time sink, running to every dungeon because summoning stones didn't work as they do now at low level was another beast; finding a group was spamming channels or in guild; the dungeons alone were another lengthy beast even with Tier 1.

Endgame was actually dull compared to today.

1) It literally farming out Stratholme, Scholomance, BRS for Dungeon Set 1 and items that don't necessarily make you great or raid ready for Molten Core.

2) Farming out dungeons and crafted gear for the best in slot Fire/Shadow/Nature/Frost Resist gear (depending on Raid Tier).

3) Farming for potions, feasts, crafted gear that may help boost your suitability.

4) There are no daily or world quests to keep you engaged.

5) Gathering 40 people alone was a feat unless you were in a top guild.

6) Farming mats for the tailor to make your Shadowflame cloak once they have the pattern in order to do Nefarian (if doing BWL).

7) Attunement Quests were fun at first but a pain in the ass overall.

8) Farming for cooking patterns so that someone could supply a good feast.

9) World Bosses drops weren't very impressive *Looking at you Azuregos*

I do caveat, it will be fun to revisit the world prior to Cata and see things they once were again.

Lol...its actually cheaper for them to provide an in-game item as an incentive then a demo of a game, I can guarantee you that the $10 increase is for the Demo.

Be me, get BlizzcCon ticket to go to BlizzCon and spend some time with friends in Cali. Goodie box is meh, in game rewards are meh, and access to classic is only until the 8th. Feels real good... I hate to be a complainer but man, its just kind of a let down this year for me personally. Like who even uses cloaks in their transmog??

It's actually not if you paid attention to the stream from a week or two ago.

I love how it's somehow a "first time ever" experience playing Vanilla WoW via a paid ticket, as if the game hasn't been release by 3rd parties, and by Blizzard. Definitely double dipping the chip. "You should NEVER double dip the chip, Jerry."

We bought the virtual ticket because its the ONLY way to get the in game items. You bought the virtual ticket for access to the panels that at least 4 different websites have up to the minute information on. Yes, WE'RE the ones doing it wrong.

For majority buying it, they are. No one will care about streams that will become irrelevant in the end, but skins, mounts (well, no mount or pet this time) will stay, to be used anytime.

Anyway, this year's stuff appears to be the weakest so far. Only thing I would like so far, is Sombra skin for Overwatch. Banners and cloak transmogs are pretty average, they don't stand out visually that much, as they are in standard human/orc theme.

Myke, have you ever figured out how to double quote? You are like the biggest quote troll on these forums...L2 Quote in one post versus 40.

Also, I am one of the people that buy the ticket for the items (since I am a collector) and maybe watch a panel or two but other than that..I could careless what they dish out Blizzcon because it will literally be on Youtube...within minutes after that...

Mirror of Envious Dreams is an interesting costume toy from Revendreth that makes your character permanently (for now) wear the full Tier 3 or Tier 6 sets for 10 minutes even though you don't physically possess the items that form the set. The item currently has no cooldown on the Beta.

The toy comes from a chest in Revendreth's starting area. The illusion has a 10-minute duration,  no cooldown, and remains on during combat and mounting.
Using the toy makes your character randomly wear either the full Tier 3 or the Tier 6 set.

We're not sure if the toy will go live in its current form, but it will probably be limited by cooldown as it would be unfair to those who bought the Tier 3 pieces through the Black Market Auction House.
Thanks to @Blainiefor the tip and images.

Rextroy is back with a new video, where he one-shots players thanks to a combo which grants you 208% Versatility.
For the combo, a full set of Surging Vitality is required for a total of 7,208 Versatility and Rank 3 Versatile in every slot. Buying that costs a lot of Echoes, and you are going to spend 5,000 Echoes for each Rank 3 Versatile amplifier.
27x Surging Vitality grants you 195 Corruption, which is great because Inescapable Consequences won't kill you as it activates at 200+ Corruption.
You receive a proc of Surging Vitality and then get out of combat to change gear into your Versatility amplifiers.
That will benefit the Versatility proc you received from your first set of gear, leaving you with more than 200% Versatility while the proc is up.
You will be using two different abilities to deal damage: Reaping Flames and Remote Guidance Device (on-use effects of the Remote Guidance Device Mechagon trinket).
Two items will be used to proc Surging Vitality and to receive the Reaping Flames 100% damage buff: Gently Squeezed Toad from Shadowmoon Valley (Horde should find another NPC spawn item or use mobs out in the open world) and Sulfuron Slammer from Blackrock Depths.
Gently Squeezed Toad spawns an NPC that you can one-shot with Reaping Flames to proc the buff. You will also be able to stay in combat with it and drink Sulfuron Slammer to damage yourself, giving you a chance to proc Surging Vitality.
After proccing Surging Vitality and boosting your Reaping Flames, change gear to your Versatility amplifiers, and you can kill someone.
Rextroy also added that you could use Precious Bloodthorn Loop from Shadowmoon Valley to vanish and get out of combat, which allows you to change gear. Still, you need to make sure that Surging Vitality procs from the player attacking you before you use the item.
      Here's the combo in action.

Elegon now classifies as a Cloud Serpent in Shadowlands, meaning Hunters will be able to tame the boss located in Mogu'shan Vaults.
How to School Your Serpent is a new item that teaches Hunters how to tame Cloud Serpents in Shadowlands. The good news is it's fairly easy to acquire. You can purchase the item directly Order of the Serpents Quartermaster at Exalted.
