Upcoming Class Tuning - December 18th

We have some incoming class tuning next week, with some flat % buffs for Feral Druids and Frost Mages, applied to both PvE and PvP.

With scheduled maintenance next week, starting on December 18 in American realms, we’re focusing on shoring up a couple of specs that fell a little behind with Tides of Vengeance:

Druid

  • Feral
    • Damage of all abilities increased by 7%.

Mage

  • Frost
    • Damage of all spells increased by 3%.

Both of these adjustments will apply to PvP activities as well.

Another round of feral buffs. This is like, what, over a 40% increase in damage since BFA hit? How does a class launch in a state where it requires that much help?

When Blizzard decides to be incompetent in the testing phases, shitty things happen. Even right now, Feral is rock bottom on the damage charts over on Warcraftlogs. I'd be super surprised if Feral managed to make it to the middle of that chart after the buffs. That's how bad they are right now. Class balance since this expansion launched has been nothing but a meme.

I play Feral which is why this triggers me so hard. It's actually insane that they thought this spec was in a good enough spot to launch with.

It's actually been my main spec ever since Wrath, so I've been a long time Feral. There have been some really low points in Feral's existence, but none of them come CLOSE to how disgustingly terrible Feral was at launch. And to think that they are still holding the bottom spot on the damage charts... Blizzard really has no clue about anything regarding Feral, like how to tune it properly.

      Yesterday, we previewed Great Vault, the new weekly chest of Shadowlands, but many players were confused about how the rewards from Mythic Dungeons will be calculated, so here's are some clarifications.
      To unlock more loot choices in the Great Vault, you must complete the following objectives related to Mythic Dungeons:
      Slot #1: Complete 1 Mythic Dungeon Slot #2: Complete 5 Mythic Dungeons Slot #3: Complete 15 Mythic Dungeons If you complete 15 Mythic Dungeons in a week, you will be able to choose from up to 3 items.
      Your reward is based on the lowest level of your top 1 (Slot #1), 5 (Slot #2), and 15 (Slot #3) runs. Redditor zawyer90 posted an image and explained how the system works, so helping your friend with a Mythic +5 run will not affect your weekly item choices.

      Corrupted Items Reverted the recent change made on the interaction between Fist of Justice and Ineffable Truth for Holy and Protection Paladins. WoW Classic
      The Ectoplasmic Distiller quest item no longer generates threat. Developers’ note: Ordinarily we err on the side of authenticity when it comes to clever use of mechanics in Classic, even if we believe the original development team would have made a change given the same information we now have. The Ectoplasmic Distiller presents a rare exception mainly due to its severity: this new discovery of an unintended mechanic would completely trivialize most threat gameplay in raids for the remainder of Classic if left unchecked, including upcoming bosses in Ahn’Qiraj and Naxxramas. The pages for the quest “Draconic for Dummies” are now Epic quality. Developers’ note: We’re changing the item quality on "Draconic for Dummies" quest pages to Epic (purple) so that they'll be easier to distribute to the correct person in raids using Group Loot or Master Looter.

      Male Night Elves have gained a new Blindfold customization option category in the latest Shadowlands Beta build.
      Blindfolds will no longer be exclusive to select Face options in Shadowlands, as Male Night Elves received Blindfolds as a separate customization option. Currently, there is only one single Blindfold available for the race, as displayed below.

      All Classes
      The Honor slot that contained Adaptation,  Gladiator's Medallion and Relentless is gone. Signature Abilities
      Soulshape (Night Fae) now increases your Movement Speed by 50% (up from 30%). Activating Soulshape automatically casts Flicker and the spell is put on cooldown. Flicker now teleports you 15 yards forward (up from 10 yards). Legendary Powers
      New Rogue Legendary Powers and Druid Legendary powers were added. Druid
      Covenant Abilities
      Convoke the Spirits (Night Fae) can be channeled while moving. Adaptive Swarm (Necrolord) prioritizes targets with Rip and Moonfire active. Balance
      Warrior of Elune - Your next 3 Starfires are instant cast and generate 40% additional increased Astral Power. Feral
      Bloodtalons - When you use Shred, Rake, and Thrash 3 different combo point-generating abilities within 5 sec, the damage of your next 2 Rips or Ferocious Bites is increased by 30%. Rogue
      Shiv - Attack with your poisoned blades, dealing (3% of weapon damage) Physical damage, and applying a concentrated form of your Crippling Poison, reducing movement speed by 70% for 5 Numbing Poison, dispelling all enrage effects sec. Warlock
      Demonic Circle - If you cast Demonic Circle: Summon while controlling an Eye of Kilrogg, the circle will appear where the eye is located.  Kilrogg's Cunning:   Your Eye of Kilrogg is no longer stealthed and can now place your Demonic Circle. The casting Warlock must be within line of sight of the Eye of Kilrogg to place the Demonic Circle. In addition, the movement speed of your Eye of Kilrogg is increased by 50%.  Warrior
