Heroes are made and planned to release at least few months in advance, so he was likely scheduled long before cancellation of HGC had been made known. The question is, how long we will have to wait for new heroes, maps or balance changes, once they ran out of what was made before slowing down the pace of releases.

I picked up the phone and got direct, internal information on the HotS announcement as to what was going on and what it meant.  The banter about the announcement has been almost universally wrong, but that's not out of the norm here or the WoW forums.  I got hinted to at BlizzCon that something like this was coming because it was confirmed to me then that the game was financially in trouble (hence being unable to afford to bill to Blizzard's own cinematics team, which is like, a first).  Hell, last year at BlizzCon it was not really pulling its weight.

You don't have to believe that, but that's the simple truth why supporting it in e-sports isn't viable, or reasonable, and why scaling back is the right thing.  A vocal minority doesn't matter.  You want the game to thrive you have to support it.  What don't you get about that?  Actually, scratch that, I'm not interested.

No one here was denying here that their push for e-sports failed, including my post. You would know that if you have read it. Game itself (as opposed to e-sports) was making some money, we don't know how much, yet apparently below expectations, hence the downsizing of it's team, as opposed to shutdown or keeping skeleton crew. Also, your overall tone doesn't make a good impression, with generic "tl;dr" responses (I would advise to change the way you address people), but maybe you are very young, so I can somehow forgive that. Anyway that's all, not going to bother responding anymore about this topic as all have been said.

No.  How many times do I have to say it.  The game was not making money.  That is why pushing it for e-sports was not viable.

The game was and is a financial loss, the e-sport issue aside.  The e-sport decision is collateral damage to the fact that Blizzard has lost money on this game.

Perhaps that's why you're so wrong on this topic, you have the facts backwards.  If Blizz has said externally that it was lower than expectations that's PR.  Inside the company it's known that it's not been a winner.  They can't all be.  But it was losing money, that's why the cutbacks started long before this e-sports announcement and long before this hero was made, because if you think it takes months to create a hero and you think a cinematic is done in the same amount of time or less you're sadly, sadly uninitiated.

The decision the game couldn't afford to pay for the Blizzard cinematic team to make the cinematic shown at this year's BlizzCon was very likely made around the time of *LAST YEAR's* BlizzCon.  Because that's how far out these things are planned, because before this year's BlizzCon they're already working on stuff you're going to see next year.  They're already working on story for the next WoW expansion.  This last cinematic for Overwatch was done and sat on a *long* time ago.   And by the time you find out about any of this it's the result of decisions made a very, very long time ago.

Maybe you're young and you don't produce content and you don't know anyone who produces this content or content like it and so you simply have no proper frame of reference and I can somehow forgive that.

      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Creep Tumors, Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Ghouls, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Ultralisk, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions.       General Map Updates Balance Update Known Issues & Bug Fixes General
      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Tumors, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions. Summoned Units no longer take half damage from Structures. XP Globe pickup sound is now also played when killing a minion that instantly yields XP. Updated Homescreen and Startup Music. Return to Top

      General Watch Towers will now reset to neutral after 45 seconds of not being occupied. At 35 stacks, Storm Bolt pierces to hit an additional target, and Muradin's Basic Attack reduces the cooldown of Storm Bolt by 0.5 seconds. Mythic Reward: At 150 stacks, Storm Bolt's range is increased by 50% and width is increased by 100%, and now pierces all targets. Talents
