Discover Precious Loot

What is a Diablo game without shiny new loot to call your own? Completing activities in the anniversary event yields unique transmogrification effects, achievements, portraits, pets, and more.

While some rewards are easy to find, others may have you scouring every nook or unlocking every achievement before you can get your hands on them. Can you earn them all? There’s only one way to find out!

Your Journey Begins…

Exclusive rewards and challenging enemies await you, but they won’t last forever! The cultists have begun appearing since December 31 at 4 p.m. PST, and the portal opens January 3 at the same hour. Both parts of the event end January 31 at 4 p.m. PST.

Enter the dungeon, reap your rewards, and survive the evils within—or die in the process, never to be heard from again. . . .

Want to do it since 3 years, but i dont want to waste a single minute in D3. So sad

A good advice: Do not enter the "event".

It is beyond horrible, it is the worst "event" that you can imagine. It looks like it was made within 5 minutes by an apprentice.

It is the worst peace of software I have ever seen from Blizzard. It would be bad if it would be a fan-made mode.

That it is official blizzard content is completly absurd.

If you want to remember Diablo 1 (fantastic game btw, awesome atmosphere!) go to youtube and listen to the great music of D1.

Music is the only thing they got right in this "event" (well, they didn't have any chance to *filtered* this up, because it was simply using the existing music....)

I'd say just play Diablo 1 instead.

I remember when they announced it first at Blizzcon, it was like: "we are remaking Diablo 1 in Diablo 3!". Even some news sites wrote about it as if it was some big thing, an actual remake. What we've got was just a normal dungeon with reused environment assets and filter slapped on...

This event has zero appeal after getting the unlocks, and the "retro filter" is more annoying than anything. I appreciate the nod, but wish they'd gone a different route.

so i just tried to get the royal calf from the wirts leg, witch brew mushroom stuff, but i cant since the leg is now magic and not legendary like the original event, so.. 1 less pet in this event

so basically all this text they made boils down to, kill *filtered*, get loot, like normal play. nothing special event available.

So they made a new bug (unless it was intentional to not be obtainable anymore)? If they managed that, it's amazing...

I am new to D3 and I want to do this. I was able to get into it until today. I don't have a maxed out character but the one I had was a seasonal one so it wasn't a problem. Am I just out of luck now because I can't get into adventure mode? I play on the PS4 and am not seeing any way to access the portal now at all. It isn't showing up for me. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I was really disappointed when I first saw the 'retro graphics'. They didn't really feel right, way too rushed and not as stylish and 'appealing' as the original D1 graphics. As you said it felt like a bad filter that was like done in 15 mins laid over just to make it look a bit retro and pixelated...and to sell it as D1 style was kinda sad...

It was okay to do once. And only once. After you've completed it, got the cosmetics, unlocked the achievements what else is there to do? Nothing sadly. But then again the Diablo franchise has long since been abandoned for other projects, after all mobile games for China are far more important that listening to the core audience these days.

It was the same last year.  It was given as "magic" but could be used as "legendary" to get the staff / open the portal.

Players have been reporting their inability to trade with others in Diablo. Blizzard confirmed there were some issues with game licenses and manual purchase approvals which caused this problem to occur. A hotfix has been already deployed, which should prevent the bug from happening again.

I am unable to trade with players in my party/game session, they cant trade with me, sais the I am busy whilst I am not, also when they drop it I cant pick it up - appears faded - I do not have a fresh account been playing d3 since season 3 in seasonal, never had this problem before.
      Hey all,

An investigation was launched on this immediately and there were some issues with game licenses and manual purchase approvals that caused this limitation to occur. We've deployed a hotfix already, which should prevent this situation from occurring again.

If you are still experiencing this issue, please hang tight; it does require some manual review on our end to clear up and appropriately re-flag any remaining affected accounts. This process is already underway, so we ask for your patience as we complete this step.

Thanks for your understanding and apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

In case you missed it, here's part 2 with the rest of the classes.

      * Updated article with Barbarian, Crusader and Demon Hunter  guide links.
We finally have the release date for one of, if not the most exciting season in Diablo 3 so far, and it's time to start getting hyped for this Friday! While one of the most interesting things about the new season is picking up random ancients along the way and stringing together some weird builds as you go, there's always some combinations that go really well together.
Personally I'll be trying to recreate my Cyclone-then-activate-every-available-passive-aoe-in-the-game "build", but we wanted to use these few days we have until the season starts to hear what builds you're looking forward to or planning, regardless of whether they will actually "work" or not. We also poked our own guide writer Deadset to see what he thinks some of the more fun and competitive Legacy of Nightmares builds might be. We're going to start slow, with just 3 builds this time around, with the rest coming later in the week.
Here are Deadset's build suggestions for Barbarians, Crusaders and Demon Hunters:
Look for the next installment of Deadset's build suggestions for S17 later in the week, and if you're looking for more in-depth guides on the above mentioned builds and in general for the season, they'll be dropping throughout this week, so stay tuned here and we'll have you ready for the Season of Nightmares. And don't forget to share your LoN plans with us in the comments as well!
