Recommended Posts

8.1.5 is coming to the PTR very soon and we have some developer notes to find out what's coming with it! The two new allied races are coming, with Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tiran Humans finally within our reach, some new invasions of the Naga variety, some updates for capital cities (new portal rooms) and WSG and AB, as well as new War Campaign quests, Wintergrasp as an Epic Battleground, the return of the Brawler's Guild and a lot more!

You can also check out our allied races guides for more info on what we'll be getting and how to unlock them.

Blizzard Logo8.1.5 Dev Notes (source)

We’re underway with the deployment of our first build of WoW 8.1.5 to our Public Test Realms. We expect it to be playable soon, and we want to start discussions about the features of the update that we’ll be testing:

• The Kul Tiran Allied Race unlock
• The Zandalari Allied Race unlock
• Naga invasion World Quests
• New portal rooms in faction capitals
• The next chapter of pet battle Raiding with Leashes
• Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin visual improvements

Our testing in this first build will be primarily technical, so some 8.1.5 features will be locked/unavailable for the first few days while we work on initial concerns:

• New War Campaign quests
• New quests and questlines focused on Magni, Hati, and the eight non-gathering primary Professions
• Warlords of Draenor Timewalking dungeons
• New Brawl in Arathi Basin vs. AI
• Wintergrasp coming to the Epic Battleground list
• New Brawler’s Guild update
• New Darkmoon Faire roller coaster
• New Micro-holidays and updates to Children’s Week

Additionally, you may see some features referenced in this PTR (such as Ashran as an Epic Battleground) that are not part of 8.1.5, but may be introduced in a later update. We’ll keep an eye out for such things and make sure to let you know what we aren’t testing in this PTR.

As always, thank you for your testing and feedback.

Holly *filtered* Zandalari and Kul Tiran in next patch ... /facepalm blizzard

This expansion is worth playing in 8.2 and thats a big MAYBE all the *filtered* the promise are delivering to us in drops this entire expansion was a beta for azeroth.

"Wintergrasp coming to the Epic Battleground list"  One of the best pvp zones ever made this is more like that warfronts should have been not the abomination we have now.

Like the last comment " As always, thank you for your testing and feedback. " ye blizz we are doing this since the start of this *filtered*.

The point is they were always slated in 8.1 and they still are. It was, entirely expected that they'd come out after the raid

Yeah next expansion I am waiting for the last patch or whichever it is when the second X-mas discount happens to buy it.

-Saves money

-No time gating

-More content so you won't get bored after 3 months

-Will get bored in 6 instead but that's when next expansion would probably arrive.

Kind of wish I did this with BfA

I'm not sure this will work the way you want it to. You may not be paying for sub, but you're also paying for the expansion for only a few months of content. Time gating isn't great but people will  just blow through the content then complain about no content otherwise anyways. a lot of the content will be irrelevant anyways, ESPECIALLY if you're interested in raiding or the dungeons.

BFA advertised zandalari and kul tiran so much, kind of a joke on the players to release months it. Those were definitely the two races people were looking forward to the most

I was actually looking forward to the Void Elves and The Nightborn. Couldn't have cared less about Kul Tirans or brown skinned Orcs that stand up straight. I still hate orcs.

Battle for Azeroth has been a cluster *filtered* on the order of Warlords of Gaynor. They released WAY too much content, to begin with in 8.0. You finish two zones and you are level capped. Once at 120, you are unsure of which quests are the main storyline and which are filler.

Yeah it's better to give you this 2 races on launch, and just ignore the fact both of the are (even now) not interested in full alliance with any of the factions, and for both of them "Horde vs Alliance" war is just not their war to fight, casue they are still having their own issues. Yeah ignore lore so 2 months later you can complain that Blizzard write stories that don't make sense and are breaking lore.

Both are commited to their faction, after finishing introductory questlines and first war campaign. Jaina is already ruling Kul Tiras and brought them back to Alliance, it's more about gameplay/content gating. People look at these allied races more like at other races introduced with expansions - no one had to grind rep to unlock Draenei, Blood Elves, Goblins, Worgen or Pandaren, yet in their stories these races still had many problems that had to be solved (like Kael's betrayal, addiction to magic on BE side etc.). My personal opinion - not interested in playing them, although they are introduced way too late in the expansion, when hype about them mostly died.

And in game it's still not very story-friendly, speaking from purely lore standpoint. When Kul Tirans are still treated as "mainlanders" when they come to their home continent, Zandalari will be brought to recruit... Zandalar tribe as "speakers of da Horde" etc., it's going to look rather awkward.

Alwasy comes in .2... so 8.2 is when Pathfinder 2 will come out.

The horde had helped the army of the light whose main mission was fighting the legion, and the alliance helped to free the nightborne from the control of the demons. Is there isn't much of a true reason for them picking sides other than the *filtered* blizz made up right before bfa. They could have easily done this for the new humans and trolls.

Uncommon Patron

I was hoping aganst hope that they wanted to do something with the maze that is the Horde main city. Then again, if they put all the relevant NPCs in one area the rest is going to look like Silvermoon.
Guessing after 2.0 it will be less of a nuiscance.

Here's another Mythic+ non-meta victory, with a controller using tank finishing up the achievement in the worst Covenant for the spec in M+, in PUGs!
We look at the log rankings, tier lists and various other optimizations and standings a lot here, so it's also important to point out that you really can get most non-highest end content done with any spec you want. Berub proved this and then some, as they got KSM while tanking as a Blood Death Knight Night Fae, the worst Covenant for M+ for the spec AND used a controller while doing it! And the best part? The reason Berub chose Night Fae is because of the armor looks!

And while many others have completed KSM with off-meta specs, and some did with a controller as well, the tank + worst Covenant + controller part is especially impressive, and Berub didn't quite mention the control method to the groups, or those runs probably never would have happened at all. Here are some comments from the journey:
Hopefully examples like this encourage players to try new things and now be quite as limited by the meta, despite it being pretty hard to get into groups, especially for DPS.

This week's world boss is Mortanis and you can find him in Maldraxxus.
      Mortanis
One of the most studied necromancers of the House of Rituals, Mortanis has been working tirelessly on a means of transforming himself into a more powerful form. Now, he is only a few moments from succeeding.

Mortanis drops Item Level 207 loot along with various Legendary Power recipes and Conduits. Do not forget to pick the Renown weekly quest for 1,000 Anima before killing Mortanis. We are listing the full loot table below.

Memory of Fujieda (Warrior Legendary Power) Memory of Keefer (Monk Legendary Power) Memory of a Guile Charm (Rogue Legendary Power) Band of the Risen Bonelord (Ring) Mortanis's Ribcage (Mail Chest) Bone Crushing Vicegrips (Mail Gloves) Bone-Cleated Footpads (Leather Feet) Spine Crawler Waistcord (Cloth Belt) Shoulderblade Vambraces (Plate Wrists)

There seem to be some new issues with the EU authentication servers, as many players are unable to log in. So if you're having trouble playing at the moment, don't worry, it's not just you:

Anyone having issues loggin in (EU)? fix the servers Blizzard have also responded on the matter, but it seems to still be ongoing:
So we'll just have to wait a bit more, although the issue has been persisting for about an hour now.

Are you wondering how your spec performs in Mythic+? Here's a tier list with all specializations!
      DISCLAIMER
In this article, we are taking a look at the tier list for Mythic+ based on the data gathered by Benched.me. The site plots all runs available from the Blizzard API (excluding the Chinese region) on a single ridge plot, so it is different from our Shadowlands Mythic+ Rankings maintained by Petko.
      How the Data is Calculated
To rank all specializations, Benched.me uses something called Meta Ratio Score. The "ratio" is between the specialization's representation in the meta vs. its representation in the population. For example, a specialization makes up 3% of all players in the population, but 6% in the meta, which means that spec's ratio is 6% / 3% = 2.
Furthermore, the site defines the "population" as all keys level 2 through 15 and the "meta" as keys 16 and above. Based on that, we break down specs into tiers based on their meta ratio as follows:
S-Tier: Ratio of at least 1.5. A-Tier: Ratio between 1 and 1.5. B-Tier: Ratio between 0.5 and 1. C-Tier: Ratio below 0.5, but greater than 0. F-Tier: Ratio of 0 (the spec isn't present in the high-level bin at all). Spec Tier List for Mythic+
      S-Tier
      Fire Mage - 2.02 ratio Balance Druid - 1.75 ratio Outlaw Rogue - 1.74 ratio Vengeance Hunter - 1.64 ratio A-Tier
      Holy Paladin - 1.37 ratio Restoration Shaman - 1.36 ratio Windwalker Monk - 1.33 ratio Marksmanship Hunter - 1.28 ratio Brewmaster Monk - 1.15 ratio Fury Warrior - 1.14 ratio Discipline Priest - 1.08 ratio Affliction Warlock - 1.08 ratio B-Tier
Guardian Druid - 0.89 ratio Unholy Death Knight - 0.75 ratio Shadow Priest - 0.73 ratio Havoc Demon Hunter - 0.72 ratio Restoration Druid - 0.71 ratio Blood Death Knight - 0.61 ratio Protection Paladin - 0.53 ratio Holy Priest - 0.5 ratio Elemental Shaman - 0.5 ratio C-Tier
Enhancement Shaman - 0.47 ratio Protection Warrior - 0.41 ratio Mistweaver Monk - 0.41 ratio Feral Druid - 0.41 ratio Survival Hunter - 0.39 ratio Destruction Warlock - 0.39 ratio Frost Mage - 0.37 ratio Retribution Paladin - 0.35 ratio Assassination Rogue - 0.35 ratio Frost Death Knight - 0.31 ratio Subtlety Rogue - 0.31 ratio Arcane Mage - 0.31 ratio Arms Warrior - 0.30 ratio Demonology Warlock - 0.28 ratio Beast Mastery Hunter - 0.19 ratio
