Developer Comment: Anub’arak’s Beetle Build has been a difficult sell, particularly at level 1, due to the power discrepancy of Resilient Scarabs compared to other talents on the tier. In order to help the build, we’re reducing the opportunity cost of picking its talents by removing Resilient Scarabs and baking its functionality into Legion of Beetles. This should make for a much more attractive talent at level 1 against his other options, and should open up other build paths for players who like to slay their enemies with many tiny little friends. Anub’arak is a bit too strong overall right now, so we’re reducing his damage so that he’s not quite so dominant compared to the other tanks in our game.

Developer Comment: We’re pushing Chen towards more of a Bruiser role with these changes. One of the longstanding issues with Chen is that due to his trait functionality and tuning, he can either be shut down fairly easily or be too powerful depending on if the enemy team has the necessary CC and burst damage to deal with him. We’re beginning to experiment with smoothing this out a but by increasing his sustained survivability and reducing the amount of burst he can tackle while also increasing his damage. While we are still iterating on him, we wanted to get some preliminary changes out sooner rather than hold back until we are finished.

Developer Comment: Judging from data gained from more experienced Imperius players, our newest Hero will trend right into the sweet spot with his overall balance. We do want to make some tuning adjustments to a few of the Talents to make sure that they're all attractive choices however, which is what the majority of these balance changes aim to address.

That was very unexpected. What is even more unexpected is that they buffed Imperius, he is already annoying enough and dealing way too much damage for a Bruiser.

Burn The Impure (Imperius level 1) is insane now, it does count for each mark consumed, which means your AA against target with 3 marks will deal 1.9 AA + 7.5% of their max HP.

WHAT?!? All hail our new king, Imperius. Combining this with the celestial charge attack speed at level 16 could be a cool albeit extremely niche (maybe even useless when the trade is for Melting Touch) additional damage with Molten Armor marks.

To be fair the only talent that was at all used that was buffed was Burn the Impure (Though to a ridiculous degree but still). Hell, they even nerfed Angelic Armaments. The nerf isn't going to change much, but hey.

I think looking at Imperius's Burn the Impure buff while assuming you'll be getting three stacks is complete nonsense.  Getting the Q mark is amazingly circumstantial, both in situations where it's reasonable to land it (both due to range/hit box issues and the problems with self stunning) and in situations where the mark matters (because the target isn't already dead from your teammates).  The W is a bit more reasonable to expect (though the cooldown isn't short) and the E is almost a gimmie (though not completely if you're fighting in a minion wave).  It's certainly a big buff to that talent to be sure but I doubt it'll change his power level that much.

They buffed 4 talents that weren't used and 1 talent that was picked up on occasion. The damage buff to Flash of anger or healing from Heat of Battle isn't making him that much better since those talents still have fundamental problems that make them unrewarding to use in comparison to what those talent levels compete with. The Bulwark of the Flame buff makes it actually compete in some cases. The Valorous Pursuit is still competing with an aggressive storm shield. These buffs didn't make him that much better. Other than Burn the Impure.

I am surprisingly happy, because many of the talents buffed were my favourites already, even if they are not "meta".

Beetle Anub'Arak, Fast Feed Li Li, Iron Skin Jojo, Assimilation Mastery Kerrigan, Drain Life Gul'dan and Explosive Rounds Nova are my favourite builds on these heroes.

Also, I do prefer the "small buffs to under-picked talents" rather than "nerfs to most picked talents" balance philosophy.

I was thinking that they could revisit Alarak. Mainly, lvl 1 questing talent for Lightning Surge could be made baseline, as it is his bread and butter anyway. They could alter the thresholds to 10/20 to balance it. Perhaps then there would be more balance and variety between his builds. AA build could surely use some love

      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Creep Tumors, Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Ghouls, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Ultralisk, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions. Summoned Units no longer take half damage from Structures. XP Globe pickup sound is now also played when killing a minion that instantly yields XP. Updated Homescreen and Startup Music. Return to Top

      Level 1 Egg Hunt Talent removed. Shell Game NEW: Murky can now place 2 eggs, but randomly revives from one of them. Increases the cooldown of placing an egg to 30 seconds and goes on cooldown if either egg dies. Level 10 March of the Murlocs Damage increased by 4%. Level 13 Egg Shell REWORK: Murky gains a Shield equal to 35% of his Health upon placing an egg or when one of his eggs dies. Fish Tank Healing reduced from 25% to 20%. Level 16 Wrath of Cod Damage over Time is dealt over 4 seconds (from 5s). Level 20 Big Tuna Kahuna Talent removed. Faster Fish NEW: Pufferfish detonates 80% faster.       Mana reduced from 500 to 450. Lunar Flare [E] NEW QUEST: Hitting a Hero with Lunar Flare increased its damage by 5%, up to 250%. After hitting 10 Heroes, increase Lunar Flare's range by 30%. After hitting 20 Heroes, Sentinel now pierces the first Hero hit. Mythic Reward: After hitting 50 Heroes, Tyrande's Basic Attacks occasionally trigger a Lunar Flare.       Level 1 Ranger No longer provides pierce. Moonlit Arrows Cooldown reduction reduced from .75 seconds to .5 seconds. Moved Talent from Level 7 to Level 1.       Alarak Level 10 Deadly Charge Fixed an issue that caused Alarak's Deadly Charge to not be activated by clicking the left mouse button if it occupies the Trait slot. Ana Base Aim Down Sights [D] Can now be toggled while affected by a Silencing effect. Jaina Base Frostbolt [Q] Fixed an issue causing Jaina's Frostbolt to not have its model updated by Dreadlord Jaina or Lunar Jaina. Orphea Level 4 Allegrissimo Fixed an issue that could cause Allegrissimo's cooldown reduction to not be granted when hitting a Hero at Shadow Waltz' end. Sylvanas Base Possession [1] Fixed Possession not showing in the Quick Cast menu settings. Fixed Possession not being correctly affected by cooldown reduction affects granted by allies. Return to Top
