Inscribed or Crafty Vermilion Onyx?

Recommended Posts

Is there reasoning why Kreps and Jalopy are using Crafty Vermilion Onyx instead of Inscribed Vermilion Onyx? Is it cause they have mostly crit and mastery that they need the expertise?

The reasoning behind it is that by gemming expertise, they are able to reforge out of it on their gear to reforge that stat into Mastery. Considering that at their gear level, 1 pt of mastery > 1pt of strength, comparing the benefit of gtetting 160 mastery from the crafty vs 80 str from the inscribed is easy enough to do smile.png

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask,

E: quick edit, at your gear level too Mastery should start to overcome strength point for point, so crafty are definitely an improvement for you over inscribed.

Mastery starts outperforming strength point for point at around 40% crit. However, at pretty much every gear level, 2 pts of mastery will be worth more than 1 point of strength, and therefore Crafty gems should be better.
