Crucible of Storms M Race Day 3: WF Pieces Video, Uu'nat Lowest % Video

Recommended Posts

Today was a good day for streaming, despite Limit stopping their raiding and us losing their perspective, but we did gain Method's on Uu'nat progress, as they downed the Restless Cabal almost immediately after they went into the Crucible. But first off, we have the World First Restless Cabal kill video by Pieces:

Some very impressive nerdscreams there, as is befitting a guild's first World First! The player skill was also damn impressive, but let's focus on the screams instead. There really is nothing quite like your first WF, other than perhaps your first raid endboss WF, which the Pieces guys might just experience this time around as well. Once again, big congratulations to the new player in the very top raiding scene.

As already mentioned, Method caught up early today, as they downed the Cabal some 50ish minutes after starting raiding. The good part about that for us is that we now have a good view of Uu'nat and their progress there, which led to today's lowest % try, coming in at 63.6%, pretty late in the day:

There are varying rumors about Pieces progress, ranging from 41 to 51%, but the only thing we can say for sure is that they've had around 6 hours more on Uu'nat than Method, and possibly only a couple of hours more than vodkaz, but we're not sure until when the US guild actually raided so it's just an approximation. 5 other guilds also got past Restless Cabal after Method's World 4th, with Exorsus, Aversion and Practice claiming the next 3 spots as well as the EU 2nd-4th, followed by Club Camel and Big Dumb Guild in spots 8 and 9 / US 2 and 3.

Then we have today's hotfixes, which nerfed Uu'nat and made him more melee-friendly, and buffed the Restless Cabal a bit. You can check out the specifics here.

And to finish, we have the key perspective for the Restless Cabal fight from Limit's World 2nd, aka one of the many, many Shadow Priests:

Cabal is the hardest first boss in any WoW raid ever, its also a really fun fight with enough RNG to make it always feel different and keep you on your toes but not the unfair "you lose" kind of RNG that was present on Jaina, for example (Icefall being on top of the raid in last phase).

Hope Blizzard is monitoring the progress as they usually do and steadily nerf it during weekly resets as guild's progress starts slowing down, giving a great experience to everyone involved. Current tuning is just about perfect for the top ~100 guilds, but doubt anyone else can take it down without nerfs, as there will be no further gearing / heart power coming in to help anytime soon.

The fight itself on Heroic is challenging and I imagine on Mythic it can turn into a nightmare if mechanics/check points are not met within a timely fashion.

If only I didn't say "first boss" I'd tend to agree 😄 but unfortunately 99,9% of first boss in any raid tier are a total joke..closest second would probably be Odyn or actually, Hydross from TBC before there were difficulty levels to begin with! I remember skipping that boss so we could take on the easier bosses behind him and ended up just killing him before Lady Vashj or close 🙂

We have our 100 Mythic Crucible of Storms Horde champion guilds already! The Hall of Fame for the red faction is now closed with the guilds that managed to get in being set in stone, with a few more getting the Cutting Edge: Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void achievement, as it remained available until the end of this last reset. So if you're looking for the achievement or the "Famed Slayer of the Harbinger" title, you'll have to try on the Alliance side of things, where there's 88 slots left! Once the remaining Alliance guilds down Mythic Uu'nat, cross-realm Mythic will be enabled, but at this rate it's going to be a bit tight to reach that 100 number, as the Hall of Fame will close when the next raid, Azshara's Eternal Palace, opens. Cross-realm Mythic will also be enabled at that time, even if there aren't 100 Alliance guilds done with Mythic Crucible at that point.

In any case, check out the full Horde Hall of Fame entry here.

We have some new info on the change to how grouped players with their XP off function in 8.2, a change which was implemented to curtail players leveling much faster with an XP off person (usually a Demon Hunter in Island Expeditions or Freehold) in the group.

Blizzard clarified that this change is only aimed at pre-made groups, aka groups where players have been invited directly, not via the matchmaker.
      XP Boost (source)
I don’t want my XP to be 5% because some random troll que’d up on twink char and joined our group.

      This won’t happen.
The change only affects groups that manually invite player characters who have XP off. There is no impact on players who find themselves automatically grouped by the matchmaker while doing PvP or Group Finder dungeons.
This change also doesn’t affect anyone who has turned off XP for their own benefit, such as plundering old raids while keeping their level low enough to use their Aggramar’s Stride boots.
      Here's the aura in question:

WarcraftSecrets have spotted an interesting new aura on 8.2 PTR which reduces Experience gains from quests and kills by 95%, while someone in your party has disabled XP.
Placeholder for tweet 1140393688272723969 Experience Eliminated - You've taken a vow of experience elimination and are unable to gain experience. There may be someone out there that can help you remove this...
In the next tweet they clarified this mainly affects Demon Hunter boosting in Freehold and Island Expeditions and they hurry players to boost their characters before Patch 8.2 goes live which is rumored to happen June 25th.
