Vanilla Friends is a new website which offers a convenient way to track down your old friends from Vanilla just in time before Classic launch.

Vanilla Friends launched to help you reconnect with old friends and enemies from Vanilla WoW in advance of the Classic launch on August 27th.

The site serves as a player database. You can add yourself by selecting your region and filling out various details about your character, including realm, faction, contact method, and contact info. You can search the database of players and apply various filters to narrow down your search results.

Well, this is a bit of a weird one. Jokerd, the World First Classic level 60 mage joined Method as a Classic streamer/influencer on October 30th after having beaten their streamers in the race to max level and had over 300,000 viewers watching when he dinged. Everything was going well, he met some Method members at BlizzCon and they had a good time.
A couple of days ago, however, something very Vanilla WoW happened, as Jokerd ninja looted the Staff of Dominance on a US server in Molten Core. He was doing a pug and apparently decided that he really wanted the staff and just took it. Now you'd think simply ninjaing some loot in a pug wouldn't be enough to get you removed from an esports organization, but it's Jokerd's comments on the matter that got him deeper and deeper into trouble.
First off we have the moment it happened, as the raid group voice chat was talking about whether he'd really ninja it and someone saying that it would hurt his reputation too much and he wouldn't do it, which seems to have triggered him (apologies for the full VoD, clips are way too small for all of this).
      Heads up: strong language within.

      Timestamp: 12:20:10
After that very slick "F**k you" and unconvincing explanation on how he doesn't feel bad about taking the staff at all, his chat proceeded to question him on why he did it and if he thought it would get him in trouble with his guild. But he seems to have chosen chosen a very good guild for his type of person, as an officer from it was in that pug and... well you'll just have to listen to this brilliance yourselves:

      Timestamp: 12:47:09
But that's not all, as the highlight of this particular stream came a little earlier, when someone in his chat dared ask him "who does he think he is to do this", whereupon we got this golden, once in a lifetime speech:

      Timestamp: 12:36:30
Now it has to be said that there is a small chance this was half-jokingly said, tongue-in-cheek or a massive amount of sarcasm etc, but you'll have to decide that for yourselves. Personally I'm not seeing it.
After all of this Method's general manager had this to say:
Which was follow the very next day by this final statement:

Ninja looting was a big part of the Vanilla experience, whether it was those need rolls in dungeons, or the more sinister master loot schemes, or even those brave guilds and pugs that went FFA loot, and actually ninjaing an item tended to have a pretty big impact on a player's reputation on the server. Now obviously if it was just the ninjaing Method might have looked the other way, but the sheer glee and level of arrogance on display in the stream was probably what tipped the matter over (or perhaps he just flat out refused to publicly apologize when confronted by Method). In any case, this little piece of drama is definitely very Vanilla and I guess it's just another thing Blizzard got right with Classic : )

Today marks the launch of Phase 2 in WoW Classic. Azuregos and Lord Kazzak have been enabled along with the PvP Honor System, allowing players to earn PvP ranks and acquire Honor Sets. Check out our PvP guides to get started!
With the arrival of the new PvP Honor System, we'd like to take the time to highlight our WoW Classic PvP guides:
Classic Druid PvP Guide Classic Hunter PvP Guide Classic Mage PvP Guide Classic Paladin PvP Guide Classic Priest PvP Guide Classic Rogue PvP Guide Classic Shaman PvP Guide Classic Warlock PvP Guide Classic Warrior PvP Guide Here's the official preview of both the world bosses and the PvP Honor system posted by Blizzard.
      Blizzard (Source)
Get ready to put your skills to the test in WoW Classic. The PvP Honor system and world raid bosses Lord Kazzak and Azuregos are now available.
      LORD KAZZAK
Gather a group of your best trackers and fighters to venture into the Blasted Lands. Lord Kazzak resides deep in the Tainted Scar and patrols the area, ready to smite all who dare cross his path. Prepare yourselves for a fast and furious battle against time and watch out for his Shadow Bolt Volley, which causes massive amounts of raid-wide damage.
      Location: Tainted Scar—Blasted Lands
      Suggested Level: 60
      Players Suggested: 40
Associated Quests: Priest—While players have a small chance to get the The Eye of Shadow as a random drop from elite demons in the world, Lord Kazzak is guaranteed to drop it. Following the quest, The Balance of Light and Shadow to its completion will reward the weapons Benediction or Anathema.
      AZUREGOS
A member of the Blue Dragonflight, Azuregos makes his home in Azshara, guarding the magical artifacts left behind there. You’ll want to gather a group of comrades-at-arms to withstand his frosty reception and lay claim to the items he protects. To the victors go the spoils, and for some Hunters this means laying claim to the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina. This item has a low chance to drop on elite blue dragons, but is a guaranteed item drop from Azuregos.
      Location: Azshara
      Suggested Level: 60
      Players Suggested: 40
      PVP HONOR SYSTEM
The PvP Honor system has arrived in WoW Classic, opening the way for players to climb the ranks and earn PvP rewards.
      CLIMBING THE LADDER
Facing enemies who are within 10 levels of your own character and defeating them will earn you Honorable Kills. These Honorable Kills will help you advance in the PvP system and unlock access to a variety of rewards, such as a PvP trinket, cloak, potions, and more.
Not all Honorable Kills are valued the same, however. Killing the same enemy multiple times will result in a decreasing amount of Honor gained until they aren’t worth anything more through the end of the day, when the system resets the diminishing returns.
Diminishing Returns from repeated kills on a single target are as follows:
1st: 100% of Honor 2nd: 75% of Honor 3rd: 50% of Honor 4th: 25% of Honor 5th (and beyond): 0% Honor Diminishing Returns also apply to killing faction leaders.
Honorable Kill values are also weighted by the defeated player’s own rank and level. You’ll earn more Contribution Points by defeating players who have more PvP experience under their belt and have reached a higher rank than by defeating players who are new to the battlefield. Each week your rank will be updated based on your activity relative to the other members of your faction, but climbing to the top won’t be easy—it will take regular participation to maintain or increase your rank.
You can also gain a large number of Honor by killing city faction leaders in Darnassus, Ironforge, Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Thunder Bluff, and the Undercity. Once Battlegrounds are available in WoW Classic, these will also provide Honor.
      FALLING FROM GRACE
You will be given Dishonorable Kills for killing civilian NPCs which immediately impacts your Honor rating. Every dishonorable kill costs you some of the honor that you’ve earned in previous weeks, making it difficult to reach the higher ranks as long as you have any dishonorable kills counted on your record at all. These will appear in the Honor tab immediately.
      TRACKING YOUR METEORIC RISE
You can check your status in the character information window (C) in the Honor tab. This shows your current rank as well as your honorable kills for the current day, the previous day, the week, the previous week, and over your character’s lifetime.
There are 14 ranks, and each rank provides access to new rewards. You’ll need to head over to the Officer’s Barracks in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to purchase your new items.

The new PvP Honor System and World Bosses are now live. Check out our WoW Classic PvP guides to get started with Phase 2.

It seems we'll have to wait a bit longer for the much needed key ring feature that will free up thousands of inventory slots across Classic! Blizzard said the addition will come in the "first patch" to the Classic client and later clarified that a patch is not the same thing as a phase, as they can simply "turn on" features in the phases, while a patch has to change the game client.
Phase 2 is coming this Thursday, November 14th, bringing with it the PvP Honor system and world bosses, and every realm has already switced single layer, today in fact.
      Key Rings (source)
Yes – the Keyring will come to WoW Classic with our first patch to the game client later this year.
We don’t yet have a certain date for the patch, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
Correct. We’re able to turn on content such as Dire Maul or World Bosses without having to change the game client and require downtime the way a patch does.
      Sorry for the confusion.

Players were abusing line-of-sight rules in Gadgetzan, so Blizzard gave the guards in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, and Everlook longer range on their ranged attacks in today's hotfixes, even though the new range differs slightly from their reference WoW 1.12 client.
Blizzard also said they will be taking action against players who exploit the line-of-sight rules, so we might see suspensions going out later today.

Resolved an issue that caused Survival Hunters’ Mending Bandage (PvP Talent) to heal more than intended on non-player targets. WoW's 15th Anniversary
Korrak’s Revenge The amount of Timewarped Badges rewarded for winning or losing Korrak's Revenge have been doubled from 10 and 5 to 20 and 10.  The repeatable quests “Irondeep Supplies,” “Coldtooth Supplies,” and “More Armor Scraps” no longer reward Timewarped badges. Many quests in Korrak's Revenge now are daily quests and reset daily. They are as follows: “Irondeep Supplies,” “Coldtooth Supplies,” “Towers and Bunkers,” “Capture a Mine,” “The Graveyards of Alterac,” “Armor Scraps,” “Capture a Mine,” and “Alterac Valley Graveyards.” Developers’ note: While acquiring supplies from the mines and mounts for the ram and wolf riders contributes to the battle, we agree with the feedback that these can be a bit repetitive. To that end, we have converted a number of quests within the Battleground into dailies and removed the reward for the repeatable turn-ins. The guards in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, and Everlook now have a significantly longer range on their ranged attacks. Developers’ note: We’re seeing some players attack others by abusing line-of-sight rules in Gadgetzan. This disruption is against our Terms of Service (as it was in 2006) and we’re taking action against players who exploit this game mechanic. While this new range differs slightly from original WoW 1.12, it better enforces the authentically intended consequence of PvPing in a goblin city by challenging the attacker to fight, die, or escape the guards. The Discombobulator Ray will now correctly dismount mounted enemy players. Abilities that provide a damage increase to the next auto attack (e.g. Heroic Strike and Raptor Strike) will now properly break crowd control effects if the ability was queued before the crowd control was applied. Corrected an issue that prevented pets from attacking a target who entered stealth after the Attack command is used. Corrected an issue with the Gnomish Cloaking Device that caused it to incorrectly drop the player from combat when used. November 8, 2019
Guards will now correctly be more willing to assist players in PvP combat who have Friendly or higher standing with them. However, they will continue to not assist players with Neutral standing. Corrected an issue that was causing Onyxia to fail to clear the threat of the primary target of her Fireball ability. October 22, 2019
Fixed a bug that caused creatures such as Solenor the Slayer to misbehave when pursuing the player. Groups of creatures that commit to combat as a group will now all continue to pursue whenever any one of them are struck by a player attack or ability. October 16, 2019
The buffs obtained from the guards in Dire Maul North after completing a tribute run will no longer stack.

Molten Core speed runs ahead of Phase 2 seem to be really popular these days and Salad Bakers from Gehennas-EU managed to clear the raid in 28 mins and 29 secs, which is currently the world's fastest reported clear of the 40-player raid.

More details about the run are available on Warcraft Logs.
