Vanilla Friends is a new website which offers a convenient way to track down your old friends from Vanilla just in time before Classic launch.

Vanilla Friends launched to help you reconnect with old friends and enemies from Vanilla WoW in advance of the Classic launch on August 27th.

The site serves as a player database. You can add yourself by selecting your region and filling out various details about your character, including realm, faction, contact method, and contact info. You can search the database of players and apply various filters to narrow down your search results.

Click here to visit the website or join their Discord.

Azeroth Auto Pilot is an interesting addon for speed leveling in WoW Classic and in this spotlight, we're taking a closer look what it does.
      Azeroth Auto Pilot
Author: Zyrraél from Twisting Nether (EU) Discord: https://discord.gg/hpKyGnQ Download Link: Curseforge Leveling in Classic will take a long time and some players will prefer to reach the cap as fast as possible and this addon is here to help with just that.

Azeroth Auto Pilot shows creature spawns on the map.
Azeroth Auto Pilot will save your time, telling you where to go (arrow), what to do (quest objectives). On top of that, it will automatically take flight paths, talk to NPCs, auto-accept and turn in quests. Hotkeys or macros can be used for quest items.
You can adjust it to your liking by typing /aap in the chat or through Interface -> Addons.
The addon is still in development and at the time of writing, it supports the following:
      Alliance Leveling
Nigh Elf: Level 1-20 Dwarf/Gnome: Level 1-20 Human: Level 1-20 Horde Leveling
Undead: Level 1-32 Tauren: Level 1-32 Orc/Troll: Level 1-32 Feel free to test it out in the next Stress Test or on Closed Beta and let us know how it went in the comments!

Layering is a limited form of sharding invented specifically for WoW Classic. It will be implemented to ensure a smooth launch in August, but comes with downsides and recent Closed Beta footage demonstrates just how easy it is to abuse the system in its current iteration.
      Layering in WoW Classic
The purpose of layering is to shard entire continents at launch, meaning one server will have multiple layers that will be gone in a few weeks after launch when all layers merge into a single realm.
Redditor Salvage_di_macaroni posted an image which highlights differences between sharding and layering on reddit.

You can find more information about layering in the article below.
      The Downsides to Layering
Now comes the fun part. Redditor omegalulreddit posted two clips showing how easy it is to abuse the new system. In the first clip, we have a demonstration of switching between multiple layers. Each character represents a different layer and you can control the layer of your main by logging in with an alt first.
The second clip takes place in Gurubashi Arena and shows how layering can be abused in world PvP.
A player gets invited to the party, phasing into another layer with different players and leaving the party causes him to phase back out, making his enemies disappear. For some odd reason, we're unable to embed the clip, but you can watch it here.
What do you think about layering? The current suggestion is to disable it outside of starter zones.

Europe will have PvP, PvE and RP realms and there are no plans to split them up by language with the exception of Russians who will have separate realms and a client due to their reliance on the Cyrillic Alphabet.
      Blizzard (Source)
As we get closer to WoW Classic’s release, we thought now would be a good time to talk about our plans for Classic realms here in Europe.
We’ve prepared several realms, which will include Player vs Player, Player vs Environment, and Role-playing realms.
For Classic, we’re planning on not splitting up realms by language. This has its advantages and disadvantages, but overall, we think that it’s the best starting point for WoW Classic. An exception will be made for the Russian language, which will have separate realms due to its reliance on the Cyrillic Alphabet. For technical reasons this will also mean Russian is going to have its own separate game client, similar to what happened in The Burning Crusade.
We think this approach will give players more freedom to move around to where they want, and find guilds and friends that best match their interests.
