Il'gynoth's Prophecy Fulfilling in Patch 8.2 (Spoilers)

Recommended Posts

It's been quite some time since we last set foot in the Emerald Nightmare. Il'gynoth told us some interesting stuff, which did not make much sense back then, and we saw Magni magically appear as the Speaker of Azeroth on Argus to help us heal Azeroth, and now in Patch 8.2, everything's becoming more apparent.

According to the latest sound files of Queen Azshara, Magni was indeed made a pawn, because we learn that the Heart of Azeroth Heart of Azeroth is used to shatter N'Zoth's prison, not to heal Azeroth.

Quote

"You see the truth now, don't you, Heroes? Every move you've made has been according to my will. That lumbering dwarf believed you could save Azeroth by empowering your shiny little heart, the gift of a sleeping titan. Yes, a titan's heart was exactly what was needed, not to heal the world, but to shatter the prison of a god. Such delicious irony, the diamond king has been made a pawn."

MOTHER tells us in Patch 8.2 that Azeroth is cascading toward terminal failure and the only way to save her is to amplify the Heart of Azeroth Heart of Azeroth. Is the titan construct secretly working for N'Zoth?

N'Zoth has two lines in Patch 8.2 which likely refer to the Heart of Azeroth.

Quote

"Your heart, your offering, all dreams made real. Such a heavy burden you carry. Soon, you will be free of it."

N'Zoth

We know from the Dungeon Journal that Queen Azshara attempts to free N'Zoth by overriding the titan devices which keep him imprisoned. It doesn't look like she's going to die, though, because there's no "death dialogue/sound" associated with Queen Azshara in the files so far.

Are you looking forward to Patch 8.2 and the new raid? What consequences will freeing N'Zoth have for us and Patch 8.3? Do you think Sylvanas wielding Xal'atath will play a role in it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Quote

"The ritual nears completion. The Black Empire rises and the world awaits its true queen."

You know... I dont really feel like she's the Gul'dan of this expac.  They said she would be, being basically the harbinger of the 'Sargeras' of BfA.

...but I just dont feel it.  She hasn't been nearly present enough to feel that way.  Gul'dan was visceral, there all the time, killing heroes and escaping.

Azshara has just been... behind the scenes supposedly.  Killing her will honestly feel just like killing another mid-raid boss.  She has lots of lore behin her to be sure, but in-game she just hasn't had the face-time to feel like a key villain IMO.

Absolutely, which is why it is likely she will escape, or actually, allow us to escape after we free N'zoth, and we will see more of her in the future. After all the Queen Azshara fight is quite literally us feeding the Heart's power to N'zoth's prision to save our own skin as otherwise the waters will close in the Circle of Stars and we're all rip. Dungeon Journal is pretty clear on this 🙂

Look man, if you thought you'd be rewarded when new content came out for grinding the heart i don't know what you were thinking. You get rewarded when content is current for getting the heart up to snuff, that's the point.

Everything in this expac feels half-hearted, not necessarily lazy just really uninspired and boring, literally who cares about the queen of azshara, they have not put her in the game enough for us to actually feel anything toward her one way or the other, to make her the ultimate villain or even penultimate villain w/o putting in major facetime in the next patch would be so disappointing

If i remember correct, i think it was preach that said she actually wants to die at this point. Its why shes been so aloof throughout the expansion and even in the fight she doesnt really seem to care. Like shes also cleary OP in several ways but just allows us to do w.e we feel like. It makes sense if she doesnt care that she wouldnt really be seen as pushing anything

Well, We can hardly blame Magni for this blunder. After all, it's hard to think clearly when you are tripping your balls off on Azerite dust.

Il'gynoth returns as a boss in Ny'alotha, the Patch 8.3 raid, and with it comes another round of whispers full of prophecies. What do they entail? This article contains spoilers.
We fought Il'gynoth back in the Emeral Nightmare and if you played in Legion, chances are you know that his prophecies have manifested themselves later on in Battle for Azeroth. He gave us hints on how Magni would become a pawn, which happened in Rise of Azshara, and much more. Now, he's back in Ny'alotha and his Voice Overs are full of riddles.
      Il'gynoth VO
      We've analyzed all whispers below.
This refers to Mueh'zala who is also referred to as the Father of Sleep based on WoWWiki. Mueh'zala is the loa of death worshipped by the Sandury Tribe, and likely, Bwonsamdi's boss, whose identity has not been unveiled yet.
The "Golden One" is Calia Menethil. Although the game did not contain information on how Sylvanas killed her and Calia got raised, 8.3 sound files hint at Calia becoming the new leader of the Forsaken and her plans to reclaim Lordaeron.
Il'gynoth claims Calia will bring only darkness. This may refer to the events of Patch 9.0 and beyond. Remember, that we faced Il'gynoth as a boss at the beginning of Legion and his prophecies came true just recently in Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara.
The Val'kyr have some sort of pact with Sylvanas and it appears they are eager to fulfill her every wish. What that entails remains to be seen.
"The Vessel of Life" probably refers to the Green Dragonflight. It foreshadows a traitor amidst their ranks. Merithra, the Daughter of Ysera, has seen some screen time in Battle for Azeroth and what the future brings is uncertain as for now.
The Dragon Aspects have lost their powers after defeating Deathwing and in Battle for Azeroth, they're back helping us against N'Zoth.
Patch 8.3 Voice Overs suggest that Sylvanas, who's now wielding Xal'atath, wants to use it against N'Zoth to defeat him. Her deal with Queen Azshara was to bring the champions of the Alliance and the Horde to Nazjatar, and in Visions of N'Zoth, Azshara provides us with valuable information on how to defeat the God of the Deep.
In World of Warcraft there are six planes (realms of existence). We are the "cunning ones" and it seems we only serve one master, which is death.

Next, we're checking out the sound files for Queen Azshara and Sylvanas. They both had a bargain and in Patch 8.3, Azshara has the key to defeating N'Zoth. Spoiler alert!
Earlier today, we looked at sound files of multiple characters, containing spoilers on the future of the Forsaken and their leadership.
The sound files for Queen Azshara hint at the bargain she had with Sylvanas. Azshara would make both fleets crash to the ocean floor (Nazjatar) in exchange for Xal'atath. We know how that ended when Sylvanas claimed the blade for herself...
In Patch 8.3, Queen Azshara is tortured by Xanesh in Ny'alotha, the Waking City raid. We defeat the boss, and ultimately, she sides with us and reveals the key to defeating N'Zoth. We learn  that he is the weakest of his kin and the blade can be used to defeat him once and for all, which is how the raid is going to end.

Our preview of mounts added in World of Warcraft's forthcoming content update continues with the Aqir flying mount.
      Who are the Aqir?
      Aqir Flying Mount
The source of the mount remains unknown for now. Do you think it will be drop from N'Zoth on Mythic Difficulty?

After the events of Patch 8.2.5, the Forsaken are looking for a new leader in Visions of N'Zoth. This article contains spoilers.
In order to learn more about the future of the Forsaken, we've uploaded new VOs to our YouTube channel. Key characters include Jaina Proudmoore, Calia Menethil, Lilian Voss, and Derek Proudmoore.
Apparently, there will be a meeting in Patch 8.3 between Jaina, Derek, Calia, and Voss. Calia tells Jaina that she decided to leave Kul Tiras for Lordaeron, because Voss asked her for help now that the Forsaken have no leader. Derek wants to join Calia as both have been raised from the dead and have something in common.

We've analyzed Il'gynoth's new whispers and one seems to have been tailored specifically for Calia Menethil.
An article with a full analysis will be posted later today. In the meantime, you can check out Il'gynoth's VO below.

100 Alliance guilds have finally defeated Mythic Queen Azshara and filled The Eternal Palace Mythic Hall of Fame, which means Mythic cross-realm raiding will become available for the raid next week after maintenance.
Congratulations to Proud Manlets of Kel'Thuzad (US). They're the 100th guild to defeat Mythic Queen Azshara!

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Horde guilds have filled the Hall of Fame on September 5.
