Here comes another WoW Classic stress test, with the level cap going up to 15 this time around, and even better news - everyone that has an active account from the Americas and Oceania regions is getting access! In terms of content we'll have Warsong Gulch and Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns and Deadmines available, as well as the level appropriate zones.

The stress test is coming on Wednesday at 2:00PM PT and it will remain up for 48 hours.

We’ll have our next stress test for WoW Classic on June 19, 2019, 2:00PM PT.
This stress test will be accessible to anyone with an active World of Warcraft game account in the Americas & Oceania region. For players who have not yet tested World of Warcraft Classic, the game will become available for download late tomorrow, June 18.

For this stress test, all races and classes will be available for creation, and the maximum character level will be capped at 15. In addition to the open world, there will be instanced content available at that level. This will include Warsong Gulch for PvP as well as Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns, and Deadmines. Of course, Deadmines will be a challenge for players to complete at this level.

Please focus as much play as possible during the first three hours of the stress test. During this time, we’ll be looking for more issues to address under initial launch conditions. The stress test realm will remain available for 48 hours.

If you encounter any issues during the test, please let us know by using the in-game bug reporting tool. If there is anything you’d like to discuss further, feel free to post here in the Classic Discussion forum.

Thank you very much!

There's a town in Holland called America, guess it doesn't fall under "the Americas"? Otherwise I would move ?

I just got access to classic. Is this just for tomorrows Americas test? It is only 3GB. Praying it is full access and I can get in as soon as the DL finishes and it isn't just for tomorrow.

Looks like it is just for stress test. None of the realms are currently active for me.

So, if classic just appeared on the launcher for me, and I'm in UK, does that mean I now have beta access??

If so Blizz have done a boo-boo. I'm not opted in to beta for classic, I'm sure that there are people much better placed than me to receive this...........

As far as I've understood everyone with a Battlenet Launcher can access this stress test, its intended to melt the servers.

Here's a really interesting visualization, as paraizord shared zone maps with highlighted locations of where Hardcore players had died and who killed them. This is based on data from the Deathlog addon, with 45,000 actual deaths logged in Classic. We also get to see what exactly killed them, as well as the level range of deaths by zone (you'd be surprised at the amount of sub-level 10 deaths).
There's plenty of locations showcased in the reddit post below, and the highest number of deaths is mostly related to how many players chose which starting zone, and oh boy, there were a LOT of Night Elves not making it out of Teldrassil, and most of those were under level 10.

Other VERY deadly mobs include Voidwalker Minions from Durotar, Son of Arugal in Silverpine, Wendigo in Dun Morogh, Defias Trapper in Westfall and the MOST deadly mob in this overview: Kobold Miners from Elwynn.

The later zones are much more interesting, however, as there are fewer deaths and the players getting there are presumably more dedicates, so let's take a look at the probably most classic Classic zone:

And here's the full list with the 14 zones that were examined:

Blizzard today announced Hardcore Classic with more details to be unveiled in the near future.
Today is a great day for Hardcore players, as they will no longer need to rely on add-ons because Hardcore gameplay will now be officially supported by Blizzard.
We will of course have a dedicated guide section for Hardcore. Stay tuned for more information!

As Senior Game Producer Aggrend just confirmed on the Hardcore All-Stars stream, we’ve been working to bring official Hardcore Classic gameplay to WoW Classic. We’ve been very energized by the community’s enthusiasm for Hardcore, watching along with you, and doing a lot of Hardcore play ourselves.
We’ll let you know much more about it soon!

A Hardcore server type has appeared in the game's database table in Patch 10.0.7, which means we could get official support for Hardcore Classic realms soon.
How Would Hardcore Realms Work in WoW?
Similar to Diablo, when your character dies, it will get deleted. Classic players currently replicate this behavior by using an addon, but some datamined strings hint at possible official support for Hardcore Classic realms. Specifically, the cfg_categories database table had a Hardcore string added in Patch 10.0.7 Build 48295.

Now, all we need is an official announcement by Blizzard.

The "WoW Dev 2" CDN branch has just been updated with a new encrypted Patch 1.15 build!
Sadly, the update is encrypted and we cannot see what is new. However, my gut tells me we're maybe going to hear more about Season of Mastery 2 soon.
As for the build numbers, the version got updated from 1.14.3 Build 48611 to 1.15.0 Build 49244.
      (us) BuildConfig: 0b2a0c4 → 2279274! (us) CDNConfig: 68f2b69 → 13658c7! (us) BuildId: 48611 → 49244! (us) VersionsName: 1.14.3.48611 → 1.15.0.49244!

It's been quite a while since we talked about hardcore kills - a year and three months since Ragnaros died to be exact - and HC Elite are back with the second raid of Vanilla WoW cleared! It took quite a while to muster up the courage to clear all the way to Nefarian and take him down, with pretty specific strategies needed for some bosses (Vael says hi), but HC Elite proved everything is possible with enough dedication and time. Also, if you're here looking to see some hardcore deaths, stick around to the end of the article.
Here's the Nefarian kill (and you can click through the video for the rest of the clear):

The entire run had 0 deaths but there were two very dangerous issues, starting with Vaelastrasz. The way they avoided people dying to the bomb there was a simple hearthstone out for those affected, since it removes the debuff, with healers waiting at the inn for any additional damage from the dot! Also the extremely fast, sub-1 minute kill didn't hurt either.

The other issue was a potential Razorgore bug that could cause instant wipes randomly, and the guild did have to go outside of hardcore to address that one, making a WeakAura to warn them if it was about to happen - but luckily it didn't, as esuvii explains below while talking about the guild's preparation process:
We did not prog on PTR/softcore at all. Basically all of our preparation was done from watching VoDs, and looking at old Warcraft Logs entries, and from memory of when we played softcore back in original Classic.
For each boss we have a dedicated Discord channel to discuss/research strategies, then eventually that becomes a raid plan with assignments etc in a Google Drive spreadsheet. Our raid leader also made a commentary video going over BWL VoDs that we would be doing similar strategies to.
Everyone had watched this commentary video earlier in the day, and there was a lengthy discussion therein about those Drakonids and their different possible abilities (e.g. Whirlwind).
With Razorgore there is a bug where he can unexpectedly cast the insta-kill raid explosion that usually happens when you wipe. For this we did go onto WotLK PTR with a couple of people to investigate. We were able to make a WeakAura that detected if that bug was about to occur and warns everyone to Flask of Petrification. Thankfully we didn't actually encounter the bug!

Huge congrats to HC Elite once again, and now it's time to see how long it takes until their next conquest, as C'Thun is quaking in his his boots! And if you only came here for some hardcore deaths, here's something for your bloodthirst, courtesy of esuvii:
