The PVE guide says that Gnome is a "significant" dps increase because of 5% int. Don't think the author knows that int doesnt give spell damage in classic lol

But it does give spell crit chance, which is a DPS increase.

Why is all of this WoW Classic info coming up in the regular WoW tab. There is a tab for Classic. Over half the topics in the regular WoW news feed are now of Classic stuff.

Gnome is the best PvE class for ally mages because int gives spell crit, grants a larger Mana pool that is very useful in many PvE situations such as AoE Grinding, and the other option, Human only gets weapon skill, which is useless for Mages who will be casting spells instead of whacking things in melee, extra Spirit which doesn't grant any damage increase and is too slow acting to be of use mid AoE pull, and Perception, which can be useful in PvP against rogues and druids but so is Escape Artist!

All EU servers are now at High population, expect a new PvP server to be announced soon. Pagle (US) is now Full, joining Faerlina, Herod, and Whitemane in the US.
Check out our short guide about Classic realms to determine which server best suits you.
Welcome to our fourth Classic realm population report. In these articles, we go over the latest news about server population based on available data. You can also find our previous realm reports by visiting the links below:
Realms Population Report #1: August 14th Realms Population Report #2: August 15th Realms Population Report #3: August 16th Why "Medium" Realms Aren't Bad
Blizzard yesterday urged people to stay away from Herod (US) and Shazzrah (EU) and explained that the current population metrics are based on increased capacity, not the ones we had back in 2006.
In other words, Medium realm today will have more characters than even the most crowded realms back in the day.
      Blizzard (Source)
While we are able to fit several times more players on a single realm in 2019 than was the case in 2006, we are not going to raise that cap any further, even though we have the technical capacity to do so. Raising realm caps would simply forestall the problem, letting more players in at launch but creating an unsustainable situation down the line, with severe queues when we turn off layering permanently before Phase 2 of our content unlock plan.
Please also note that our realm population estimates of Low, Medium, High, and Full are based on this increased capacity – a Medium realm today already has more characters on it than even the most crowded realms did back in 2006.
      More Servers When?
Blizzard's main goal right now is to have Classic population evenly distributed across all realms. You need to understand that a lot of people are going to stop playing Classic when the hype is over and there is nothing worse than dead servers, so they're very cautious and wait for servers to fill first before adding new ones.
      EU Realms
Gehennas, the latest PvP server that was added in the region, now has a High population. Another PvP server launch in EU is imminent.

Myzrael went from Medium to High, Page is now Full, along with Faerlina, Herod, and Whitemane. There's still no need for additional realms in the US because Stalagg still sits at Medium population.

Herod (US) and Shazzrah (EU) appear to be massively overpopulated and Blizzard advises players to move to other realms, as they anticipate login queues in excess of 10K players, and possibly more.
To provide the best play experience, Blizzard wants players who created their characters on Herod to move to Stalagg before opening up more PvP realms. The goal is to have the player population evenly distributed across realms so that there are no dead realms.
You can read more about realm population in our latest report!
      Blizzard (Source)
Based on name reservations so far, the Herod realm is looking to be massively overpopulated. If all existing players on this server remain there, login queues in excess of 10,000 players are a certainty, and possibly much higher than that.
We recently opened up the Stalagg realm, and we urge players on Herod to consider moving there. There are a lot of players currently on Herod and we want Stalagg to fill up before we open any new PvP realms. This is so that player population is spread as evenly as possible before launch, in order to provide the best play experience.
While we are able to fit several times more players on a single realm in 2019 than was the case in 2006, we are not going to raise that cap any further, even though we have the technical capacity to do so. Please also note that our realm population estimates of Low, Medium, High, and Full are based on this increased capacity – a Medium realm today already has more characters on it than even the most crowded realms did back in 2006.
Our top priority in planning for WoW Classic’s launch has been ensuring that we are laying the groundwork for strong realm communities that will endure over the months and years to follow, which is why we’re cautiously opening new servers to meet demand.
The same thing applies to Shazzrah in EU. Thanks to @Seksi for bringing this up!

In this article, we're taking a closer look at how to choose a realm and create a character in WoW Classic.
UPDATE #3: Check out our third report for the latest realm pop details. Blizzard urged players to stay away from Herod (US) and Shazzrah (EU). The realms are extremely overpopulated based on name reservations. Expect 10K+ queue times if all existing players remain there.
UPDATE #2: A new PvP server is now available in the US. We can expect extended queue times on select realms. Check out our latest realm pop report for more information.
UPDATE #1: Blizzard announced a new PvP server for Europe amid increasing realm population. Most realms went from Medium to Full overnight.
      1. Installing the Game
The first thing you need to do in order to create a character is to install the game. This is done by selecting World of Warcraft Classic in the Battle.net desktop app. Click the Install button, and the installation bar will show you when the game is available to play. Click the Play button to log in.
      2. Understanding Realm Types
Before picking a server, you should familiarize yourself with the different server types that will be available at Classic launch:
Normal: On these servers, you must manually flag yourself for PvP. No ganking while questing and you can create characters of both factions. PvP (Player versus Player): Here, you will be flagged for PvP at all times. Exceptions apply. IMPORTANT: If you choose to play on a PvP realm, you will be only able to create characters within the same faction. RP (Roleplay): These servers are intended for players who want to fully immerse themselves in the game. If you know the infamous Moon Guard, you probably get the idea. Same rules apply as for Normal realms, meaning you must flag yourself for PvP manually. RP-PvP (Roleplay Player versus Player): Virtually the same as RP realms, but with PvP added. 3. Choosing a Server
Now that you've picked your realm type, you can easily narrow down your results depending on your preferred time zone and language.
European realms are separated by language. There are English, German, French, and Russian realms. US & Oceanic realms are separated by time zones. How do you know which server best suits you? Another factor to consider is server population. Do you want to play on a highly-populated realm with many players where you won't have issues finding groups at any time of day or would you prefer a server with low population, no lag, but slow economy?
Servers with high population have clear downsides such as server lag, long queue times during peak hours, but you won't have problems finding players for pretty much anything (even at 4:00 AM), and you'll pay less Gold for goods on the Auction House.
If you'd like to play on a realm with high population, you can't go wrong by picking a streamer realm. If you're, on the other hand, looking for an authentic Vanilla experience, you should avoid them. Many streamers have already created their characters and it appears that Faerlina-US will be the main streamer realm in WoW Classic in the US. EU streamers have so far picked Golemagg-EU.
We have preliminary data regarding WoW Classic realm population based on the recently-created characters. The latest realm population report from August 14 can be found here. The second report is available as well.
      EU Realms

Name Type Time Zone Population Arugal PvP Australian Eastern Time Low Medium Remulos Normal Australian Eastern Time Low Medium 4. Character Creation
You've picked a server and now must decide between the Alliance and the Horde! Note that in Classic, Paladins are only available to the Alliance and Shamans to the Horde. The final thing you must do is choose a fitting name for your character and wait for Classic to launch on August 27.
      Blizzard (Source)
WoW Classic name reservations now open! Players with an active subscription or game time on their World of Warcraft account can create up to three characters per WoW account before WoW Classic releases worldwide on Monday, August 26 at 3:00 p.m. PDT.
When you reserve a name, you’ll also choose the realm you will play that character on. There are a few additional things to keep in mind as you make your choice: Players who choose to play on a PvP realm will only be able to create characters within the same faction. This means that if you create an Alliance character, all further characters on that realm must also be Alliance characters. After WoW Classic is live, you’ll be able to create up to 10 characters on any given realm and can create a maximum of 50 characters across all WoW Classic realms. This character count does not impact the number of characters you can create on the current World of Warcraft realms. Characters that were created for the WoW Classic beta or stress tests will not be available to use in WoW Classic. To create a character and play WoW Classic, you will need to download and install the client first.
Open the Battle.net desktop app and select World of Warcraft in the game selection menu. Under the Version menu, select World of Warcraft Classic. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second dropdown for Account. In that column, select the active account you want to play on. Click the Install button. You’ll see an installation progress bar that will show you when the installation is available to play. Once the installation is complete, click the Play button. You’ll need to select the realm you want to play on then select Create New Character. You’ll be able to choose your faction, class, and race, as well as fully customize your new character and name them. If you change your mind about a character and have already created your three, you will need to choose a character to delete. Please note, the name associated with the character deleted will be immediately available again to be claimed.
Before you put your plans too firmly in place, we encourage you to gather your allies together to select your new home realm. If you’re looking to reconnect with your old friends and guildmates, be sure to check out our Classic Connections forum.

Faerlina, Herod, and Whitemane are going to be a nightmare when it comes to queue times. The same goes for Shazzrah, and possibly, Golemagg in EU.
Check out our short guide about Classic realms to determine which server best suits you.
Welcome to the third Classic realm population report. In these articles, we go over the latest news about server population based on available data. If you're interested in reading our previews reports, feel free to visit the articles listed below:

Faerlina - PvP is now showing as Full in the realm selection screen.
As of now, a large number of WoW Classic characters have been created on the following realms. Players with characters on this realm are likely to experience severe queues at release.
Faerlina - PvP Herod - PvP Whitemane - PvP We have updated the algorithm for the realm population tags so they more accurately reflect the expected population for that realm. The realms that are listed as “Full” are where we expect to see extended queues. If you’re concerned about long queue times affecting your play experience, you may want to consider creating characters on a lower population realm before the game releases on August 26 at 3:00 p.m. PDT.
      EU Realms
The population on Mirage Raceway (EN), Sulfuron (FR), and Flamegor (RU) increased from Medium to High. We have 5 realms at Medium, 4 at High, 4 at Full, and none is currently sitting at Low in EU.
