An overview of all important events that await us this month in World of Warcraft.

Highlights

  • July 9th marks the beginning of new Mythic & PvP Seasons and the opening of The Eternal Palace and Operation: Mechagon. Blizzard's also increasing the difficulty and rewards from all sources, including Timewalking dungeons, Emissaries, and Timewalking raids.
    • Raid FInder Wing 1 and 2 will open July 16th and July 23rd respectively.
  • Wrath Timewalking will be available starting July 16th.
    • The base item level of Timewalking dungeons will be 395.
    • The base item level of Timewalking raids (Ulduar will be available for the week) will be 415.
    • The weekly quest rewards a piece of Normal difficulty gear from The Eternal Palace (Cache of Palace Treasures Cache of Palace Treasures ), so don't forget to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons that week.
  • With the return of Ashran as an Epic Battleground, Classic Ashran will be available for the first time as a PvP Brawl the week of July 16th.
  • At the end of the month, you will be able to gain increased reputation from World Quests with all factions. This is great for unlocking Allied Races and flying.

The Eternal Palace Raid / Operation: Mechagon Dungeon Open // Mythic & PvP Season 3 Begins (July 9th)

The dangers of Nazjatar were merely preamble. Breach the palace gates and descend into Azshara's deadly domain.

Pet Battle Bonus Event (July 9th - July 16th)

While this event is active, your pets will earn experience at triple the usual rate! Get out there and battle!

PvP Brawl: Packed House (July 9th - July 16th)

Luminous Luminaries (July 13th)

GG Engineering has discovered luminescent creatures in the depths of Vashj'ir. They need your help to research the creatures before they disappear into the deep sea once again!

The Eternal Palace Raid (Mythic & Raid Finder Wing 1 Open (July 16th)

Mythic difficulty of The Eternal Palace raid awaits the boldest of adventurers, and players may now use the Raid Finder to access the raid.

Timewalking Dungeon Event (July 16th - July 23rd)

While this event is active, players level 81 or higher may access a special Timewalking Dungeon Finder queue, which scales players and their items down to revisit past dungeons from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. While Timewaking, bosses will yield loot appropriate for a player's natural level.

During Wrath Timewalking, you may assemble a raid group of between 10 and 30 players, travel to Dalaran in Northrend and speak with Vormu to access a Timewalking version of the Ulduar raid.

PvP Brawl: Classic Ashran (July 16th - July 23rd)

Aucton House Dance Party (July 22nd)

The main auction houses in Orgrimmar and Stormwind have been cleaned out and turned into Dance Parties for the day! Crowd on in and show some faction pride!

Arena Skirmish Bonus Event (July 23rd - July 30th)

While this event is active, Arena Skirmishes will award Honor at an increased rate. Will you answer the call to battle?

PvP Brawl: Comp Stomp ()July 23rd - July 30th)

The Eternal Palace Raid (Raid Finder Wing 2) Open (July 30th)

Players may now use the Raid Finder to access the second section of The Eternal Palace: Depths of the Devoted.

World Quest Bonus Event (July 30th - August 6th)

While ths event is active, completing World Quests awards bonus reputation with the appropriate faction.

During the first week of Season 3, rewards from end-of-run chests will be capped at Mythic 6+ (ilvl 415) and the chest will contain a Season 2 rewards if you complete a Mythic run this week.

      On Shadowlands Alpha, you can customize crafted items using up to three Optional Crafting Reagents. There have been some updates to the system in recent builds, so we're looking at the updated version in more detail.
      Optional Crafting Reagents in Shadowlands
      Optional Crafting Reagents allow you to customize the final output of an item craft. Up to three Optional Crafting Reagent slots are available. You do not need to fill all slots to craft an item. Green crafted items have two slots while rare and above have all three.
      Each slot enhances your item in a different way:
      Slot 1 increases the item level of a crafted item; Slot 2 specifies a secondary stat of a crafted item; Slot 3 adds a bonus effect to a crafted item. Slot 1: Increase Item Level
      These Optional Crafting Reagents increase the item level of the crafted item.
      Word of Power I - An Optional Crafting Reagent to increase the Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. +5 Item Level Word of Power II - An Optional Crafting Reagent that can be used to increase the Item Level of the crafted item by 10. +10 Item Level Word of Power III - An Optional Crafting Reagent to increase the Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. +15 Item Level Word of Power IV - An Optional Crafting Reagent to increase the Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. +20 Item Level Slot 2: Specify a Secondary Stat
      Optional Crafting Reagents guarantee secondary stats and allow for sockets on crafted items.
      Deadly Jewel Cluster - Can be placed in a socket or used as an Optional Crafting Reagent to guarantee Critical Strike as a secondary stat on the crafted item. Guarantee Critical Strike Quick Jewel Cluster - Can be placed in a socket or used as an Optional Crafting Reagent to guarantee Haste as a secondary stat on the crafted item. Guarantee Haste Versatile Jewel Cluster - Can be placed in a socket or used as an Optional Crafting Reagent to guarantee Versatility as a secondary stat on the crafted item. Guarantee Versatility Masterful Jewel Cluster - Can be placed in a socket or used as an Optional Crafting Reagent to guarantee Mastery as a secondary stat on the crafted item. Guarantee Mastery Elethium Setting - An Optional Crafting Reagent that, when crafted into armor, adds a socket. Add a socket Slot #3: Bonus Effect
      Add various bonus effects to crafted gear through this slot.
      Alchemist's Pouch - An Optional Crafting Reagent that can be crafted into a piece of armor, increasing the duration of Flask effects. Flask effects last twice as long. Reinforced Girdle - An Optional Crafting Reagent that can be crafted into a piece of armor, allowing the wearer to retain their Well Fed buff when slain in an Arena or Battleground. Retain Well Fed effects when slain in Arenas or Battlegrounds. Laestrite Plates - An Optional Crafting Reagent that can be crafted into a piece of armor, increasing the armor of the piece. Loosened Belt - An Optional Crafting Reagent that can be crafted into a piece of armor, increasing the duration of Well Fed effects. Well Fed effects last twice as long. Luxurious Feather - An Optional Reagent that can be crafted into a piece of armor, greatly reduces the damage the wearer takes from falling. Reduces falling damage. Necrostatic Micro Capacitor - An Optional Crafting Reagent that, when crafted into a piece of armor, increases the wearer's Primary Stat for completing World Quests. Completing a World Quest increases Primary Stat by 5 or 15 minutes, stacking up to 5 times. Hydrodynamic Accelerators - An Optional Crafting Reagent that makes the crafted armor increase the wearer's swim speed. Increase swim speed. Can only benefit from one Hydrodynamic Accelerator. Craftman's Pouch - An Optional Crafting Reagent that makes the crafted armor have a chance to give an additional skill point when crafting items from the Shadowlands. Chance to get extra skill up when crafting Shadowlands recipes. Shadowy Rabbit's Foot - An Optional Reagent that can be crafted into a piece of armor, slightly increasing the wearer's run speed. Slightly increase run speed. The following Optional Crafting Reagents currently have no slot associated:
      Relic of the Past I - An Optional Crafting Reagent to set the Required Level and Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. Relic of the Past II - An Optional Crafting Reagent to set the Required Level and Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. Relic of the Past III - An Optional Crafting Reagent to set the Required Level and Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. Relic of the Past IV - An Optional Crafting Reagent to set the Required Level and Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. Relic of the Past V - An Optional Crafting Reagent to set the Required Level and Item Level of the crafted piece of armor. What do you think of the system so far?

      Nerftank and his group managed to claim the World First +28 Tol'Dagor clear in time with 34.5 seconds remaining on the timer. Congratulations!

      Update: The second theory has been debunked, as it's predicted items did not show up in today's list!
      We have some possibly good news for all the people still chasing their perfect Corruption setup (which would be most players everywhere), as two separate theories have come up predicting which Corruptions will appear at what time in MOTHER's shop. Both theories are based on the Corruptions that we've seen so far, so neither has the full info for all Corruptions yet and both predict entries in different time frames, so their predictions don't conflict with each other.
      First off we have Dorovon, from Big Dumb Guild, who has actually datamined some hotfix data and come up with a possible pattern there, with cycles of linked Corruptions repeating. Now, this data might not actually be linked to the vendor at all, but we can't know that yet. From that base, Shiftmage created this spreadsheet which tracks all the upcoming Corruptions, but its first prediction comes on July 16th, as that's when the supposed "cycle" will start repeating.


      An additional problem here is that even if the data is linked to the vendor, it might simply randomize the order once it comes to the cycle reset point. We won't know whether any of this is reliable until June 16th, when the first prediction will either come true or not. You can check out the spreadsheet here for more details, and read a more detailed analysis of the datamining itself here.
      *The below theory has been proved to be incorrect*
      The second theory is much simpler and we'll find out whether it's correct a whole lot sooner - tomorrow on the next reset, in fact! Limit's Imfiredup has created a much more direct prediction, potentially figuring out the pattern for (only) the stat-based Corruptions.

      We simply keep in mind we're now on cycle 4, which would indicate the next reset, coming tomorrow, should have Expedient 1 and Versatile 2, so it won't take long to see if this is correct. Just so it's easier to keep track, cycle 5 would be (US) Tuesday's reset, aka 02.06, 6 would be Friday 05.06, 7 would be Tuesday 09.06 and cycle 8 would be Friday 12.06.

      Now, obviously both of these have a lot going against them, and it's all very speculative at this point, but it'll be pretty exciting to see if either of them managed to get it right. Perhaps Blizzard will even see the interest players have in actually knowing when which Corruption will appear and share the correct schedule themselves?

      The Corruption Effects Vendor switches twice weekly with Assault resets, and so MOTHER is now selling different wares (Preserved Contaminants) for Echoes of Ny'alotha, including Rank 3 Severe and Infinite Stars!
      Assaults reset every twice a week along with Corruption effects sold by MOTHER. The next reset will occur on June 5.

      List of Corrupted Items Currently on Sale Through June 5
      Twisted Appendage (Rank 1 // 10 Corruption) for 3,000 Echoes. Your attacks have a chance to spawn a tentacle which Mind Flays your target for Shadow damage every second for 10 seconds. Echoing Void (Rank 2 // 35 Corruption) for 7,875 Echoes. Your damaging abilities build the Echoing Void. Each time it builds, Echoing Void has a chance to collapse, dealing 0.60% of your Health as Shadow damage to all nearby enemies every 1 second until no stacks remain. Severe (Rank 3 // 20 Corruption) for 5,000 Echoes. Increases the amount of Critical Strike you gain from all sources by 12%. Expedient (Rank 1 // 10 Corruption) for 3,000 Echoes. Increases the amount of Haste you gain from all sources by 6%. Racing Pulse (Rank 2 // 20 Corruption) for 5,000 Echoes. Your spells and abilities have a chance to increase your Haste by 728 for 4 seconds. Infinite Stars (Rank 3 // 75 Corruption) for 15,000 Echoes. Your spells and abilities have a chance to strike a nearby enemy with an Infinite Star, dealing Arcane damage and increasing their damage taken from your Infinite Stars by 25%, stacking up to 10 times.
