Patch 8.2.5 Coming to PTR Soon?

Recommended Posts

Blizzard has pushed the first encrypted Patch 8.2.5 Build 31230 to WoW Vendor, so we may see the patch hit Public Test Realms quite soon.

Besides that Goblins and Worgen will receive new skins and Heritage Armor, we know nothing about Patch 8.2.5. The first hint of the patch is the initial encrypted build that's now available on WoW Vendor. We assume there's going to be a content preview that will be live-streamed on Twitch Thursday with the patch hitting Public Test Realms shortly after.

I just hope to see 8.3 beeing a massive rework of all classes... It's been months since I wanted to play wow again but can't find anything interesting in any of my char (which is all classes) , it's that the feeling to want to play a game for it's mechanic, world, lore etc but have no willing to stay because of gameplay design

I agree with you, they usually do it in the pre-patch of the expansion like few weeks before the official release, but they need to do it fast as I can, my all old guild stop because of class design, a few close friends who came back from legion try to play wow again, they stop after 1 month "Yeah it's the same game as legion but my character do less damage, have less skill and legion was not the hardest expension.."

Maybe I hangout with people who feel like me this game is dying because of class design or maybe it's the all community who see it like this, but blizzard need to break their habit and fix it fast as they could.. (and release more dungeon pleaaaaase)

Mythic+ seems to be their idea of "more dungeons" so it's unlikely that we will see tons of them, usually they don't release much past those present at launch. However, we might expect another long dungeon like Legion's Karazhan or Mechagon in next expansion, if it's the release cycle they are aiming for. Full class reworks seem unlikely, more like some tuning and balancing, even BfA didn't change much, and now they've added new ability from Heart of Azeroth, depending on essence equipped, which mirrors Legion's artifacts. There are more specs to balance than before, it looks like they set certain "frames" with Legion they intend to work around with.

the problem with a big rework of classes in the middle of the expansion is it's a double edged sword. Yes, some people would come back because oh look, class redesign. But a lot of people would be PISSED if they suddenly just flipped classes on their head in the very middle of an expansion. It's a big, jarring change full of relearning far better suited for the current method of doing it in the pre-patch.

Rextroy is back after a bit of a soloing absence, and he's gotten some gear ready in 8.3 - so naturally it was time to head into the current raid and solo a boss! Prophet Skitra is the second or third boss of the raid, depending on whether you pick her or Maut after Wrathion, and in this World First video we get a little extra explanation on how he did it by Rextroy (head to 5:36 in the video for that part).

You can also check out our in-depth interview with the man himself, as he goes over some of his more controversial tactics and discusses the difference between an exploit and creative use of game mechanics, as he had a bit of experience with the subject after being banned and unbanned for a solo kill he did (the 0.5 second Vectis kill).

There are some pretty cool discoveries he had to make about the boss mechanics to pull it off so it's definitely worth a watch:

Starting with next week's reset (March 31st/April 1st), all Legion instances will be getting legacy loot rules, aka more loot drops for when there's fewer players. This means you'll be getting random loot not specific to your class, but there will be plenty more of it for those transmog runs.

Check out the full explanation below:
      Legion Legacy Loot (source)
With scheduled weekly maintenance the week of March 31, we’re enabling Legacy loot rules in Legion raids and dungeons.
We’re reached that point in an expansion where the content from the previous expansion no longer requires a full group, and the rewards are primarily sought by transmog collectors. With this change, Legion raid and dungeon encounters will drop a fixed quantity of class-agnostic loot. Today, if you and one other player enter Emerald Nightmare on Mythic difficulty and kill Nythendra, it’s unlikely that you’ll receive any loot, since drop rates normally scale to the number of players. After this change, Nythendra will always drop 5 items from her loot table, regardless of your group size.
Dungeons and many of the lower-difficulty raid bosses in Legion are already soloable by well-equipped Battle for Azeroth characters, though some bosses, especially on Mythic difficulty, may still require you to bring a few friends. Nonetheless, this should amount to a great increase in the availability of Legion transmog gear.
      See you there!
