Method Classic Race Streaming Event

Recommended Posts

Method are back at it as they'll be hosting another big streaming race event, this time for WoW Classic! In cooperation with WSOE (World Showdown of Esports) they'll be broadcasting the race to Onyxia and Ragnaros from the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

The race this time around will be very different, as the leveling process is going to be the biggest part of progress, as the bosses are expected to fall over pretty quickly once guilds get 40 people into the raids. The event will be streamed 24/7, from level 1 to Onyxia and Ragnaros' deaths, and Method are expanding on their Eternal Palace move to cover other guilds in the race as well, with even more focus going to them this time around.

The event starts on August 26th and will end on September 2nd, so they seem pretty sure we'll be seeing a lot of level 60ies a mere 8 days after Classic's launch! You can watch the event either on Method's channel or WSOE's, with  many speed runners, Classic experts and other streamers racing to both 60 and the raid clears, as well as a lot of casting talent.

Check out the official announcement for all the details here.

Meh, I'm going to enjoy and not race... Hope they play on Faerlina like the rest of the streamers. ?

Method is EU so they don’t get faerlina since that is US ( they will be hosting in the states but their accounts are EU)

What their race has to do with your leveling anyways? No1 asked you to race, even if it's on your realm it won't affect you anyways.

The idea of getting WF to 60 at an event is a bit silly. It's obvious that the people first to 60 will be account sharing so their characters can be leveled non-stop.

Regardles, I think it's a fun way to celebrate the game, I am looking forward to it ?

You're right on that they are EU, but if you have been in Sco's stream he said: I created a character on NA servers not on EU ?

Meh let them race to 60 and be the first to fight/kill Onyxia and Ragnaros for world first in Classic.  It's not going to impede others from doing their own thing in the game.

The guild is on EU, but there are a lot of players in the Method Esports team who are NA.

If it helps the Hype Train to get even bigger and Classic more popular, it's great !

And just thinking about months it took in 2006 to simply see Onyxia for the first time, to imagine those guys rushing Ragnaros in about one week time, sounds crazy hahah ?

No one asked you for your opinion. Sometimes people don't want to race.

Yeah, I agree but they pretty much know the mechanics of the fights. I am just wondering about the gear drops.

The race for professionally paid players with paid for rigs to show how rad and elite they are? I suspect not.

To be honest. It will be fun to see that method is not able to kill some of the bosses in their race. And that their hole race kind of idea about world of warcraft is about to fail and certainly not succeed.

I will laugh my *filtered* *filtered* off if they can actualy race vanilla....even if they can not. I am still curious about this. Because I think vanilla and so classic now called, is not mend for racing.

I wish them the best and good luck on it. I am not 100% sure they can do it. ROFLMAO

They are EU, Account doesn't matter, Since my ex her account is NA but if you create a new starter account on EU and buy the game you can join EU servers.

And since Sco did the same but than made a account for NA he is able to play on Faerlina-NA :)

Blizzard have recently been sending out some more surveys for WoW Classic, this time related to changes that might be implemented for the "Classic Era" servers aka those that will not be progressing on to the Burning Crusade when it is released.

The questions imply the possibility of something of a Classic+, with new features being added and the game possibly evolving past Vanilla into its own ecosystem, and lasting a long time to come.
As spotted by Warcraft Tavern, there are several pages of questions asking about Classic Era servers, specifically:
Advanced layering, where lower population realms would be combined into server groups and players would actually be able to interact between those servers. Possible new quality of life only additions to Vanilla Classic. Possible new content for Vanilla Classic, including "significant changes or new features" that might "dramatically change aspects of the game experience".

      Source.
Check out the full post over at Warcraft Tavern with a few more questions related to switching over to BC at all and which server players would most like to play on related to new changes added.

The Burning Crusade Classic Internal Alpha has begun.
The wowdev2 branch has been recently updated with a new patch! The very first patch of the Burning Crusade Classic is 2.5.0 Build 37796. While we currently have no information when the game becomes available for testing for content creators, make sure to opt in to the Beta today!

Achievements have come to Classic! Well, sort of, and not all of them. RinesThaix has put together about 140 achievements to collect, but the mod is constantly being updated so there should be more soon.
The Classic Achievements addon lets you not only gather those points up but also share and compare them, as you can link them in chat!

English and other languages are also supported.
If you want to check out how it looks in action, here's MrGM taking it for a spin:

Blizzard have stated that the BC Classic beta is coming soon, but didn't specify when exactly. Today the Battle.net launcher's app catalog was updated with the TBC Internal Alpha, visible only to Blizzard but datamineable nonetheless!
Right at the bottom there, the Internal Alpha most likely won't last too long and many have speculated that the beta won't be too long either, as there aren't as many issues to be dealt with as there were for Vanilla Classic. The release date is up in the air but hopefully Blizzard won't put it too close to patch 9.1, as many players will want to play both.
In any case all we can do now is make sure we've opted-in to the beta (here) and wait!

The level 58 boost option that is offered with the arrival of  Burning Crusade Classic has caused quite a bit of controversy and Blizzard have now tried to clarify the details on it a little, clarifying that the boosts will only be available on the new BC realms, while the Classic Era realms (where characters will stay if they don't transfer to the new BC  realms) will not have the boost available.
      Boost (source)
      Hello.
I think it might be helpful to note that what we’re now calling WoW Classic Era realms start at Level 1, and we feel the same as we did two years ago: no Boost would ever be needed (or appropriate) there. When we originally laid out our principles for WoW Classic, the 1-60 experience was the only thing to which we could refer.
Burning Crusade Classic begins at level 58, and we’re configuring this new Boost service to avoid minimizing the accomplishments of existing players or skipping any new content at launch. It’s for players who want a way to quickly join their friends in Outland.
