Recommended Posts

If you're playing WoW Classic, chances are you'll find it cumbersome to navigate through main cities which is why Blizzard posted a handy city guide, starting with Stormwind.

Tip: If you're having trouble finding trainers, vendors, weapon masters, and other NPCs, talk to a guard, pick whatever you're looking for and the location will be marked on your map ("M").

Navigating the capital cities in of Azeroth is a different affair in WoW® Classic. Finding the trainers and supplies you need can take a little extra time to adjust to, so we’ve put together a handy guide to point you in the right direction.

A city navigation guide? Really? I thought people have become generally better at videogames over the years, not the other way around.

I don't think people have become better at video games, in fact that's probably the opposite. Because of the amount of games competing to get people's time and money, games need to be addictive and give you an immediate sense of satisfaction with as little hurdles as possible. In that present landscape, Classic is one of a kind.

What people have become better at, on the other hand, is searching the web for solutions to video games. Back in the days, you had to try harder, or talk to your real-world friends for hints, or buy a magazine one or two months later for the solution. So it cost you efforts, time, social interaction and possibly money. Nowadays you just google for the solution and usually you get it under a minute for free.

So by publishing such guides, Blizzard simply wants to ensure that the traffic will go to them instead of third-party web sites. It also shows that they care about their players by listening to their feedback and improving their experience. Of course you can argue that they could improve city navigation in the game itself, however they also have to stick to the Classic spirit. The last thing they want to do is to make things easier in Classic and move slowly towards retail WoW, especially just a few weeks after Classic was released. Doing so would send the very wrong message. By providing the information on their web site instead, they give hard-core and nostalgic players the chance to stick to the difficulty level they expect from Classic, while still offering mainstream players an easier navigation. You don't have to look at the web site if you don't want to.

Its a guide, probably took them half an hour to make, and it helps people who are transitioning into (or, i guess starting fresh?) into classic, without just saying

"Look at wowhead."

Players have been noticing that Righteous Orbs were suddenly no longer dropping, and now Blizzard have confirmed that there was a hotfix, and that they were never intended to drop before Phase 4.
      Righteous Orbs (Source)

Blizzard will be adding a one-time fix for Season of Discovery players who used Bloodstained Commendations to increase their PvP rank, but forgot about the 15 kill minimum by adding said 15 Honorable Kills at this week's reset.
      Bloodstained Commendations (Source)
We identified a significant number of players who appear to have been trying for Rank, and used a lot of Bloodstained Commendations before the deadline, but did not obtain the requisite HKs that week. We’ve developed a one-time-only fixup for you.
On Tuesday, April 16, during scheduled maintenance – before the weekly calculations are started for the week of April 9-16 – we’re going to attempt to change the record for those player-characters who fit the above description for the week of April 2-9. The fixup will essentially change your history to make it look as though you got the requisite 15 HKs during the previous week.

One of the most famous deaths in Classic Hardcore made it over into Season of Discovery Phase 3! The developers added a corpse in the new Sunken Temple raid, close to where Guzu's orc fell and thus made the legendary hole-in-one death even more so.
Originally spotted by Eric264, here's Guzu himself finding his gear-accurate body (although the Alexstrasza mousepad is nowhere to be found), a little bit off to the side of where he actually fell.

In case you weren't familiar with the death itself, it has not one, but two Jormungars  hilarious animations based on it, including one by the legendary Hurricane, which you can check out here. As for the death itself, here it is:

That's a really elaborate way to get an NPC based on you in the game, and I love it!
