back to DW frost

Recommended Posts

I've always preferred dual wield vs. two handed frost.

It's how I first started raiding on the DK back in Firelands with two obsidian cleavers. Good times.

Anyway, I've now got a warforged Xifeng and a flex Malkorok's cleaver.

As its my offspec I'm not too worried about a drop in DPS...but I was wondering how much it might drop on average. Or if it will change at all.

I also have the 2h sword from Sha of pride (non-warforged).

I will upgrade the flex axe when I have the VP...

Therefore, its 2h at ilvl 561 vs 2 1h at average ilvl 557.5.

Cheers!

The best advice anyone could give you would probably be to sim both sets of weapons, and see what happens. In case you didn't know, you can make changes in AskMrRobot, like reforging or regemming, then export the results to SimCraft without having to spend tons of gold changing everything. You can even sim what a new upgrade would do for you. If you don't know how to use either tool, there are tons of resources out there that can walk you through the basics. The SimC wiki on their Google Code page is really useful, I find.

I recently switched over to DW, replacing normal Gar'Tok with normal Skull Cleaver and Flex Forge Hammer. Running Simcraft for both Light Movement and Heavy Movement indicated fairly significant DPS increase with DW. Results from normal kills of last 3 bosses last night seemed to agree with this.

So, you should definitely see an increase with WF + Flex combo.
