For the first time, we will see an Old God unleashed in their full might. Ny'alotha is actually all around us, as portrayed in the screenshots below.

Assaults

Titan facilities across Azeroth are the key to containing, controlling, and understanding the power of N'Zoth. Assaults are returning, zones will be periodically under attack by the minions of N'Zoth, here's one facility located in Uldum, another one's in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Horrific Visions

A new feature that will become available in Patch 8.3 is called "Horrific Visions"These are essentially scenarios that show us an alternate reality and the deepening on N'Zoth's corruption. Your sanity will be drained and you won't make it far for the first time you go there. You will work with Wrathion.

Legendary Cloaks

Wrathion is going to provide us with Legendary Cloaks that help us against N'Zoth's sanity-draining attacks.

A new progression system is tied to Horrific Visions that will help you to delve deeper and overcome sanity-draining attacks.

Horrific Visions are meant to have a meaningful single-player progression system. They will scale seamlessly for groups of 1 to 5 players, regardless of your role.

Ny'alotha, The Waking City Raid

Finally, we'll take the battle to N'Zoth himself. The new raid's called Ny'alotha, The Waking City,  a 12-boss raid which showcases the full splender of the Black Empire.

Titanforging Going Away?

You will be able to unlock a new Essence Slot in Patch 8.3 and fill it with new Essences. The team is discussing the removal of Titanforging

New Allied Races (Mechagnomes & Vulpera)

New Allied Races are coming in Visions of N'Zoth. Vulpera for the Horde and Mechagnomes for the Alliance. Sadly, there will be no Alpaca mount for Vulperas.

New Goblin & Worgen Heritage Armor

New Heritage Armor is coming for both Goblins and the Worgen.

Auction House Overhaul

The Auction House has been overhauled in an effort to eliminate clutter (single stacks) and deliver a smooth experience. A separate commodities market has been created for stackable items. You can buy just portions of a stack and there will be no need to purchase entire stacks.

Players will be able to create their shopping list and on the selling side, there will be no need for undercutting.

Heroic Darkshore Warfront is also coming along with the new affix, where obelisks pull you into an alternate world.

New Mythic Season Affix

There will be a powerful lieutenant that must be defeated, which will then return you to your regular reality, but will do so in whatever location you're currently standing when that miniboss is defeated. This will enable some interesting skips without Shroud of Concealment Shroud of Concealment or invisibility. If you decide to skip the lieutenants entirely, they will pay you a visit when dealing with the final boss of dungeon.

Let's not pretend Sylvanas the Banshee Queen was ever not evil. The alliance with the Horde has always been one of convenience.

It looks more like Sylvanas is trying to capture N'zoth and use him in some manner ("he will too serve death").

Let's just be thankful it's not 'Siege of Stormwind'.
...unless there's a Mythic-only final phase of N'zoth which hauls you into a 'corrupted' version of Stormwind with leaders on the pikes and Mythrax-like creature bombarding you from the sea.

The Horrific Visions progression they will introducing reminds me of doing the repetitive Chromie questline in Legion.  Starting out you are only going to get so far then eventually over time you will be able to venture further and complete tasks and objectives accordingly.

There will be no bonus rolls in Shadowlands.
To reduce loot quantities across the board, Blizard has decided to remove bonus rolls in the Shadowlands altogether, so you won't be able to buy the currency that previously gave you another chance on loot.
      (Source)
Bonus rolls no longer exist, and the Great Vault captures the value they provide to raiders. Non-raiders should also factor in the Great Vault, as completing a Mythic Keystone +15 will award a choice of up to three item-level 226 pieces from the Great Vault. So no bonus rolls in raids and just one piece of gear from the end-of-run chests from Mythic dungeons.

Blizzard posted a follow-up on their Shadowlands "let loot be loot" philosophy. The new expansion eliminates Warforging and Titanforging, and gear in the first Season obtained from dungeons, raiding, and PvP will be capped at Item Level 226.
      (Source)
I’d like to take a step back on this subject and look at the big picture.
As has been observed in the Beta, loot quantities overall are reduced in Shadowlands. Following the proclamation “let loot be loot”, we’re entering into a world without Warforging and Titanforging, where getting an item from relevant content should feel rewarding on its own more often, without needing to hope for random upgrades.
Bonus rolls no longer exist, and the Great Vault captures the value they used to provide to raiders. Non-raiders should also factor in the Great Vault, as completing a Mythic Keystone +15 will award a choice of up to three item-level 226 pieces from the Great Vault.
Currently in the Shadowlands Beta / first tier of the expansion, PvP loot for top ratings caps out at item level 226.
While outdoor world gameplay and professions offer a range of epic gear, the very strongest loot in WoW comes from the three organized multiplayer endgame progression paths: Rated PvP, Mythic Keystone dungeons, and raiding. The design intent is for all three paths to provide parallel progression over the course of a tier, while providing players who engage in multiple paths at a comparable level a faster advancement experience. For example, we’re currently targeting item level 213 for Challenger-level PvP, Heroic raiding, or Mythic Keystone dungeons at the +7 difficulty.
Of course, there could be further adjustments to all of this in the weeks to come before Shadowlands launches.

Castle Nathria raid testing continues on the beta, as Mythic is focused this Friday, specifically Sun King's Salvation and Council of Blood.
      Raid Testing (source)
On Friday, September 25th, we will be continuing our raid tests in Castle Nathria.
      Friday, September 25th
Sun King’s Salvation - Mythic Castle Nathria
      13:00 PDT (16:00 EDT, 22:00 CEST)
Council of Blood - Mythic Castle Nathria
      14:00 PDT (17:00 EDT, 23:00 CEST)
As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.
To facilitate testing, players who have not committed themselves to a Covenant can speak with Acquirer Ta’est inside Castle Nathria to temporarily bind themselves to one of the four factions.
Q: How do I get into the raid zone?
A: In Oribos, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade IV in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)
Q: What character should I use to test the raid?
A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players’ effective level to 60 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.
Q: How long does testing last?
A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we’re satisfied that we’ve received that information for a given boss, we’ll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.
We appreciate you taking the time to test our content and look forward to reading your feedback.

With the removal of the Corruption System in Shadowlands, the Heart of Darkness Azerite trait will be useless.
Heart of Darkness increases your secondary stats while your Corruption Level is 25 or higher, but the whole Corruption System is going away in the Shadowlands pre-patch, so you might want to get Azerite gear without that trait now because it will be good for nothing.
Azerite Powers and Essences will continue to work, but both will be disabled once you start leveling in the Shadowlands zones when the new expansion goes live.
