wow Auction House Revamp Details and Updates

There's been a lot of feedback on the Auction House changes introduced on the PTR and today Blizzard have responded to a lot of it, with some answers about how the AH will work in general, as well as PTR specific issues.

Could you please add a filter option for searching gear and weapons? I would like to be able to check a box that would filter out all armor/weapons I already own the appearance for.

We think you can do this by using a combination of the “Uncollected Only” checkbox in the filter dropdown and the Armor/Weapon categories on the left.

Just curious how you’re going to handle pets. Technically any one particular pet can be 25 different pets because it can be 25 different levels.

All versions of the same pet will be grouped in the same page. Since the auctions on that page will be mix of various levels, rarities, and stats, it’ll be up to the buyer to determine which pet they want to buy.

Can we set a duration longer than 48 hours?

At this time, we’re continuing with the 48-hour max duration the WoW auction house has always had.

Here are some known issues that will be fixed on upcoming PTR builds:

With the new search, can we wildcard a search for weapons without the “…of the tiger”? e.g. Notorious Combatant’s Intuitive Staff* would search all types of that item regardless of secondary stats.

We don’t have wildcard functionality, but you can simply search for the first few words (example: Notorious Combatant’s Intuitive Staff) and it will return all items matching that.

 

Is there any spellcheck in the future? So “irion ore” pops up with nothing but does suggest “iron ore”?

Not at this time, but thank you for the suggestion.

 

Does the Uncollected Only bring up a single item with the appearance like the CollectionShop addon groups items that Xmog into the same thing into a single listing?

The “Uncollected Only” filter will return all items that you don’t have the appearance for. As a result, you may see several items for the same appearance.

 

Is there a filter for learnable and usable recipes so that goblin engineers aren’t shown gnomish recipes?

There is a “Usable Only” filter that will only show you recipes you can learn.

 

Are battle pets sorted better? (currently, battle pet item and caged battle pet are different objects, color variety is not shown, breed might be visible but I’m using a lot of addons that tell me that).

Can we search on attributes of an item (30 mastery) instead of item name (enchant ring - seal of mastery)?

Not at this time, but thank you for the suggestion.

Items seem to display as lasting for almost a month rather than a few hours or a day.

Thanks! We’re aware of duration displays issues, and we’re working on that right now.

I predict a lot of econ. bachelor theseses will be born out of the AH revamp. I thought they will only roll it out in 9.0, but this looks like a huge quality of life improvement for many. Also, the Auctioneer addon can get a bit more lightweight.
