8.3 and Season 4 Titan Residuum Change

Recommended Posts

There's a change coming to Titan Residuum in 8.3 and, more specifically, Season 4, as players will no longer be able to save up the currency for the next season, as it will be turned into silver when the new season hits. The prices and drop rates will also get adjusted in Season 4, with "more understandable" values, but after that crunch will work like they did so far in seasons 2 and 3.

Will it still be a thing in 8.3?

Yes. However, we’re working on a change to Titan Residuum that will make a noticeable difference. We feel like most players don’t see a meaningful benefit from the ability to save some Residuum for the next season, and for a few players, saving Residuum has come to feel like an unfortunate obligation.

When Season 4 starts, we’re planning to convert the Titan Residuum you currently have into silver. At the same time, we’ll set the drop rates of Titan Residuum and the prices of the items that it buys back to values that are understandable. After that reset, Titan Residuum will work in Season 4 just like it did in Seasons 2 and 3.

And we’ll put that on the Visions of N’Zoth PTR in the coming weeks.

Thanks!

wow... they really hate the RPG aspect of their MMORPG don't they, how dare people plan and prepare for the future! And silver? Really silver? That's just a spit in the face, could have least been 1g per 10 or something actually worthwhile.

I saw this post during our Raid night and was just bummed out.  It's already a pain where you can't hoard items that reward you AP for turn in (if necklace is already maxed out) for when 8.3 is released.  The only thing I see feasible now is buying the random 445 token pieces then scrapping those pieces for the small amount of TR (when patch goes live) unless Blizzard is planning on nipping that idea in the bud as well.

It could still be 1g per 10 TR for all we know. "Silver" is super vague. it could be 10s for each TR, it could be one silver, it's a very vague term.

this isnt the only currency that cant be rolled over.

PVP has had this for years.  NBD.

PvP aspect I can understand but for a strict PvE only scenario, like myself, it just means that a few of my alts won't be played for the next month and a half.  And the reason why I do this is to stay on top of my Main character to make sure it's fully geared to help out with close friends and Guildies for either Tanking or to be DPS.

And with the new corruption system being placed in 8.3 things may take longer than expected when re-gearing 1 character again.

I really dont think this is a big deal. I completed ~13's every week last season and due to the scaling, i think I was about 2/3 of the way to 1 445 item in the new season (and the item had garbage traits, so it was worthless)

Also, with WoW moving to a seasons approach to events this system makes sense. Players start "fresh" at the beginning of each season, similar to diablo.

Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed that the Dracthyr race will have more class options in The War Within. However, this feature may not be ready in time for the expansion's launch.
This update was highlighted in a tweet by MrGM, who shared insights from a London content creator interview about the Dracthyr.
The plan is to introduce the ability for Dracthyr to play as other classes in War Within. Emphasis on playing in Visage form. Required animations for other classes are actively being worked on. The implementation is unlikely to happen at launch, but targeted for early in the expansion cycle. Placeholder for tweet 1780748422066188399
