Shadowlands is the next World of Warcraft expansion coming after Battle for Azeroth.

For more details check out our BlizzCon 2019 Content Hub!

We're going to the Shadowland which is the afterlife of the entire Warcraft universe. We will meet some of the fallen and learn more about their destiny. King Terenas told us there must always be a Lich King, and in the official reveal cinematic, Sylvanas took Bolvar's mask at icecrown, revealing the Realm of Shadow.

Great animation, although it is like me and many have predicted. Sylvanas is now more like Kerrigan, with some plan to "set us free", hopefully she won't turn good later.

Well at least their writers aren't completely out of mind by putting the crown on Sylvanas, that's good. Wonder if finally she will find the use of all that azerite everyone was so mad about and now completely forgot.
Tho i feel how addon's theme is so out of nowhere, they will need to do a ton of explanation of what shadowlands actually are to capture some interest. "New" and "Mysterious" lands is just bland by itself, there need to be something backing of it with story, which shadowlands completely lack so far, they really need a patch to tie it all together.

Reminder: One of the key Kul Tiran heroes in BfA was Taelia Fordragon, daughter of the (last?) Lich King. Wonder what'll be her next move once she learns of her father's story or will this conclude the return of Bolvar in some form.

Yet more Sylvanas fanboy-ism, solo-ing the most powerful character in lore. The write-up looks promising, however, but BFA looked good too and it's been pretty "meh". Looking forward to it, but I'm not too hyped either.

"the most powerful character in lore" the Lich King isn't the most powerful character in lore. This also isn't a full power Lich King, he has no Frostmourne, the helm of domination isn't even what it once was, the original Lich King WITH frostmorne fought Illidan and it ended in a draw.

Not saying he isn't strong, but he's definitely not the most powerful character in lore.

Sylvanas plot armor is starting to become really ridiculous. She fights the Lich King's entire army ALONE, wins against him in a 1v1 AND destroys his helm with her BARE HANDS.

This is ridiculous. It's like they're trying to please SJWs to have strong female representation, but Sylvanas is becoming a Mary Sue.

Does Sylvanas mean she's gonna break the fourth wall and save the NPCs from the imprisoned fate of being endlessly grinded by the players by shutting down this game?

Their giving her all the power she was denied in Warcraft 3 and making her into this big-deal until she either dies or becomes some martyr. She was always a behind the scenes Hero. Coming back to Icecrown Citadel to introduce Shadow lands only proves my point. Even though we all know Syl accepted that Arthas aka the Lich King was done and dealt with. What more needs to be said. Next! The trailer is pretty cool

I mean, it's been shown she's pretty hopped up on at least void maybe void and death magics.

She's definitely a plot point, but it's hardly "Oh appease the SJWs" it's because she's been entwined with this death story from the beginning. Who else would they use for it?

After watching this cinematic, you feel even more sad for Saurfang... but respect his courage and resolve even more. Poor guy.

What do you think happens to Bolvar now? The way he looked helpless at Sylvanas reminded me of the same defeated pose Gul'dan was in at the end of the Warlords cinematic.

Yea people think it's bad writing because they have yet to tell us how she's getting this power. It doesn't mean they are going to ignore it, just means they're building towards an explanation.

Arthas LK > Bolvar LK, for sure. The mantle of Lich King is a husk of what it once was. Frostmourne, Ner'zhul, Arthas - all broken and purged. Once the supreme commander of necromancy, the current Lich King is an overpowered baby-sitter of the scourge and a guard to the eternal veil. From a lore perspective, he hasn't even been unfrozen that long.

For a minute there, I thought she's going wear the helmet.

+1. StarCraft was great, Kerrigan was great..just wish the story was different..no need for "revenge".

I'm excited to get back into wow. I've never really played it too seriously but the fact that level squish is coming and all races can play DK, it's peaked my interest for sure! Might buy a physical copy of the expack and resub once it's released.

Same here. I would love to make a DK Vulpera. ?

We're checking out how long it takes to reach Level 80 in the War Within expansion!
If you're starting at Level 10, you'll need nearly 74% less XP to hit Level 70 in the War Within pre-patch. MrGM leveled a brand-new character from 10 to 80 on the Beta and shared his results on X.
It took 10 hours and 2 minutes to go from Level 10 to 70. It took 9 hours and 20 minutes to go from Level 70 to 80 in Khaz Algar. The character ended up with 18,484 Gold and Item Level 543 gear at Level 80. MrGM noted he didn’t do any dungeons and only completed the 4/4 War Within campaign along with side quests when they made sense. For XP buffs, he used the +10% XP from active War Mode and the 5% Warband achievement buff. Placeholder for tweet 1803063166957453421

The Earthen will be locked until you reach Level 80 and won't be available when the pre-patch hits in July.
We want to clarify a common misconception: the Earthen Allied Race won't be available in the War Within pre-patch. To unlock this race, your character needs to complete the War Within campaign, which won't be accessible until the expansion launches on August 26 (or August 22 for those with Early Access).

You can hover over the unlock requirements here to learn more about the criteria to unlock the race -> Allied Races: Earthen.

Learn more about the Earthen Allied Race intro!
I played through the Earthen Allied Race intro on the Beta and wanted to share some highlights with you.
Your Earthen character starts at Level 10 in the Halls of Awakening. Essentially, your character wakes up from stasis and completes a few basic quests to get teleported to Stormwind and Orgrimmar. If you were hoping for an epic Demon Hunter-style intro, you might be a bit disappointed. This intro is brief, taking about four minutes to complete. However, its brevity can be a good thing, depending on your preference.
At the start, there's a cutscene, but in the Beta, it's currently just text.
The gist: Your character awakens from stasis before Dawn and Foreman Uzjax.

This is the area where you'll be completing the Earthen intro. It's called the Halls of Awakening.

For the first quest you must complete the first stage of the Awakening Protocol, by clicking on various machines in the room.

The Awakening Protocol consists of a Diagnostics Scan, Cognitive Scan, and Anomaly Scan.
When completing the Anomaly Scan, you'll learn that you're an anomaly machine causing the systems to overdrive.

You must click on the Inner Song action button to break free from the chains.
Once you complete the first quest you will receive the Azerite Surge racial and you'll get to another room where you must complete the Analyzing Sequence in the Analysis Interface.

There are three consoles that you must interact with and select whatever options you'd like. The dialogue options seemed pretty random.

Anyway, once you complete that, you'll reach another room where you have to spar 6 Awakened Earthen.

In the final room, you must defeat the Phalanx of Authorization.

When you hand it the quest, you will get the Awakened Tabard.

When you're done, you will use a portal to your faction city and end up at the embassy.

Here, you can talk to Chromie Time to pick your desired expansion for leveling. Dragonflight is the default leveling experience in The War Within.

The Dalaran Hearthstone is getting a new animation in the War Within pre-patch.
Blizzard has updated the animation of the Dalaran Hearthstone toy ahead of the War Within pre-patch releasing in July.
You can watch a short video of the new animation below. Courtesy of Ghostopheles.

The Marks of Honor calculator is a spreadsheet that tells you how many marks you need to buy everything.
Created by boldchickeneater, the Marks of Honor calculator lets you simply calculate how many marks you need to purchase pretty much anything from the vendors.
Where can you buy marks in Valdrakken?
Seltherex is located at 44, 37 in Valdrakken (Gladiator's Refuge). For 2,000 Honor, you can buy 5 marks (Orboreal Distinguishment).

      Marks of Honor Calculator
Open this link and navigate to File > Make a copy. Now when you own a set, you can replace the "12" in the corresponding cell with "0" and it will update the totals.
Combatant sets and weapons can be filtered out if you are not interested in them.
