Here come the official Shadowlands previews, starting with the idyllic Bastion zone and the Kyrian covenant found therein. The covenant will offer a movement ability with reduced aggro radius, as well as a combat skill we don't get to see quite yet.

In Shadowlands, Azeroth’s heroes journey into the realm of the dead after Sylvanas Windrunner tears open the veil between life and death. As they explore four otherworldly zones—Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth—players will meet the Covenants that rule the afterlife realms in the Shadowlands. The first stop is the spiritual realm of Bastion.

Home of the Pure

When first arriving in Bastion, you’ll be greeted by elysian vistas, resplendent skies, gleaming spires, and ethereal sights. This paradisiacal realm is inhabited by the steadfast Kyrian, who safeguard mortal souls as they pass into the Shadowlands. If you wish to untangle the Banshee Queen’s nefarious plans, you’ll need to earn an alliance with them.

Bastion’s Inhabitants

Meet the denizens of Bastion.

Kyrians

Kyrians

The noble inhabitants of Bastion who shepherd the souls of the dead to Oribos so that they can be judged by the impassive Arbiter before being sent to their final destinations. Fresh arrivals to Bastion will become Kyrian Aspirants—wingless beings who train for eons to one day earn their wings and join the ranks of the Ascended.

Stewards

Stewards

Born of the magic of Death, these otherworldly groundskeepers and artificers keep Bastion pristine. Along with maintaining the realm, they assemble Centurions—the anima-fueled guardians that train Kyrian Aspiriants and defend Bastion. Each steward dotes on a Paragon and keeps mementos of their achievements. Perhaps you will catch their eye and they’ll pledge themselves to you!

The Forsworn

The Forsworn

Rarely, an Aspirant will fail to complete a rite of passage. These once-bright souls darken and become lost, wandering the plains of Bastion to lament. Containing the Forsworn is key, for if left unchecked, doubt can spread like a disease . . .

The Centurions

A legion of anima-fueled automatons that drill Kyrian Aspirants in meditative combat as well as defend Bastion.

Praetor: These flying automatons are charged with training Aspirants who show particular martial promise.
Goliath: Unyielding bulwarks and powerful warriors that enforce order in Bastion.
Colossus: Eternal protectors, these guardians have stood watch and defended Bastion for ages.

Manifestations

As the Kyrian shed the burdens of their past lives, physical manifestations of their tormented thoughts are expelled from their bodies. Only by striking them down can the Kyrian cleanse themselves and achieve ascendance.

These are but a few of the entities you’ll encounter in Bastion. While adventuring, it's best to stay vigilant—you might even cross paths with Uther the Lightbringer and other long-passed heroes of Azeroth who now wander this world. . .

Kyrian Covenant

When players reach maximum level and have explored the first four zones, they’ll be able to pledge themselves to a Covenant, like the Kyrian. Each Covenant offers its champions abilities, along with other powers and cosmetic rewards that can be unlocked through a Covenant Campaign—an epic storyline unique to the faction—and other activities over time. This alliance also gives the player access to a Covenant Sanctum, a city only open to players who have forged a pact with its rulers.

Power of the Kyrian

If you choose to join the Kyrian Covenant, you’ll gain two unique abilities—one class ability used in combat, as well as an ability that allows them to maneuver through the world in a special way.

Here is the movement-based ability that the Kyrian bestow upon their champions:

Unburden: Dissolve into pure anima to increase your movement speed, slow your falling speed, and propel you forward. Greatly reduces the radius at which enemies will detect you.

Soulbinding

When you join a Covenant, you’ll be able to undergo an ancient rite to bind your soul to some of its most powerful members. By doing so, your character harnesses their power, gaining access to powerful bonuses. Over time, you can unlock new tiers of power and even switch Soulbinds when strategy demands it.

Kyrian Covenant Spoils

For your contributions to the Kyrian Covenant’s cause, you’ll be rewarded with several cosmetic rewards including: a mount, a pet, Kyrian-forged armor, and back attachments that rival the beauty of Kyrian wings.

Kyrian Covenant Plate Appearance
Armor up with specially-crafted armor forged in the heart of Bastion (pictured: plate gear).

There are more mysteries yet to unravel in Bastion, and not all as it seems—a shadowy force threatens the peace in this realm. Perhaps some of Azeroth’s greatest heroes can champion the cause of the Kyrian and drive back their adversaries!

Rewards and abilities are still in development and subject to change, so be sure check back for periodic updates on worldofwarcraft.com as we approach the release of Shadowlands.

We have more hotfixes this Thursday, focusing on Shrouded affix tuning and some item fixes.
      August 18 (Source)
Dungeons and Raids Mythic+ Affixes Shrouded Adjusted the health, melee damage, and ability damage of Nathrezim Infiltrators. Vampiric Claws cooldown increased to 12 seconds (was 8 seconds). Developers’ note: We discovered an issue that caused Nathrezim Infiltrators to have inconsistent health and damage, and as part of resolving the issue we had to adjust their health and damage values. The net result is that Nathrezim Infiltrators should feel slightly less powerful than they did previously. Items and Rewards
Fixed an issue where items purchased with Puzzling Cartel Dinar could not be refunded. Fixed an issue where Enforcer's Stun Grenade, Kihra's Adrenaline Injector, and Fleshrender's Meathook did not reset their cooldowns upon ending an encounter.

Blizzard posted details on the Wrath Classic-pre expansion event that will begin on live servers on September 5.
On September 5, shipments of Conspicuous Crates will start arriving in Booty Bay and other ports. During the week of September 13, the Scourge Invasion will begin in major cities. At this point, invasion points will start spawning. There, you'll defeat rare undead lieutenants for items that you can exchange outside of Light's Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands for various goods. You'll be able to defeat additional enemies in Dire Maul, Razorfen Downs, Scarlet Monastery, Scholomance, Shadowfang Keep, and Stratholme. Level 70 players can obtain a new raid quest in any capital city called Chamber of Secrets to kill Level 70 players can obtain a raid quest in any capital city in Azeroth (Chamber of Secrets) to kill Prince Tenris Murkblood in Karazhan. The prince can drop the Vampiric Batling pet and the coveted Arcanite Ripper. (Source)
You know the score. The Lich King, perhaps Azeroth’s most infamous villain, is returning. The last time he set his eyes on a goal, it didn’t end well for anyone involved—just ask Illidan Stormrage. But before you can take the fight to Northrend, first you must deal with more pressing matters. The Lich King is already making his first move, eager to stop Azeroth’s greatest heroes dead in their tracks—quite literally—with a fresh variant of the Scourge plague. It is up to you to survive it if you hope to journey to the frozen wastes of Northrend to stop him.
      The Zombie Infestation
Starting the week of September 6, astute observers will notice shipments of Conspicuous Crates arriving at less than reputable ports like Booty Bay. These highly contagious containers will infect anyone who touches them with a deadly variant of the Scourge plague. If you need assistance to avoid a grisly death, look for a nearby Argent Healer to cleanse yourself. Player characters capable of dispelling diseases can also help you recover… for now.
      Zombified!
If you’re unable to get rid of the disease, you’ll become a Plague Zombie. While you’ll still have control of your character, you will no longer have access to any abilities you had while living (or unliving, if you were Forsaken). Instead, you’ll gain new abilities that will help you accomplish your new goal as a servant of the Lich King: to infect as many people as possible! As a zombie, you can use the following skills against players and NPCs alike:
Melee: Infects the target with the plague and heals you. Mangle!: An instant attack that shortens the time the infection takes to zombify the victim. Retch!: Retches on the ground, creating a gas cloud that heals zombies and slows living targets, infecting them after a certain period. Beckoning Groan: Calls up to 4 non-player zombies to aid you. Lurch!: Increases the speed of nearby zombies (including yourself). Zombie Explosion!: Burst into pieces, destroying yourself but infecting those around you. Any targets you infect will eventually become Plague Zombies if not treated. In time large populated areas will become too dangerous to dwell in. If you’re looking to avoid infection, it is best to avoid these places *ahem* like the plague.
If you get killed as a zombie, you can be resurrected by another player, by the spirit healer, or by running back to your corpse. Once you return to life, you’ll be back to normal, but you can still be re-infected, so be on your toes!

      It gets worse…
As the week progresses, more Conspicuous Crates will be delivered to every capital city in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Beware of vermin like Plagued Roaches as they can spread the plague, even when dealt with from a safe distance. The infection’s incubation time will become shorter and shorter, and harder to overcome. Plagued Residents, former common citizens unable to fight off the plague, will also terrorize starting areas, bringing additional challenges for fledgling heroes to overcome.
Over time, the once plentiful Argent Healers will see their forces spread too thin to contain the infestation, and the plague will become more and more resistant to magic. And this seemingly unstoppable disease is just the beginning….
      The Scourge Invasion
Starting the week of September 13, the Scourge Invasion will begin. Having survived the assault on Naxxramas (you wouldn’t know anything about that, would you?) Kel’Thuzad is ready to once more advance the Lich King’s efforts by striking at strategic locations all over Azeroth. The dread citadel Naxxramas has left the Eastern Plaguelands for good, absconding to the icy continent of Northrend.
In addition to dealing with the ever-growing Zombie Infestation, you’ll be tasked with investigating the Scourge activity within the major cities and thwarting invasions throughout Azeroth. Keep your eye on your map (M) to locate activity hotspots and put a stop to them.
In each invasion point, you’ll engage with rare undead who each have a chance to drop various helpful items. Find the Argent Quartermaster, located outside of Light's Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands to exchange items obtained from invasion points for various goods, including parts of the epic Undead Slaying and Undead Cleansing sets.
Additional foes can be found in the Dire Maul, Razorfen Downs, Scarlet Monastery, Scholomance, Shadowfang Keep, and Stratholme dungeons:
Revanchion inside Dire Maul Lady Falther'ess inside Razorfen Downs Scorn in Scarlet Monastery Lord Blackwood in Scholomance Sever in Shadowfang Keep Balzaphon in Stratholme
Level 70 players can obtain a raid quest in any capital city in Azeroth (Chamber of Secrets) to hunt down and destroy Prince Tenris Murkblood in Karazhan. The prince can drop the Vampiric Batling pet and the coveted Arcanite Ripper. This two-handed axe is guaranteed to rock the casbah.

      The Aftermath
All good(?) things must come to an end. Eventually, the Alliance and the Horde will work together to find a cure for the Zombie Infestation and push the Scourge back to where they came from. The Lich King’s plans will be temporarily halted as the pre-expansion events end and Wrath of the Lich King Classic launches—just in time for you to hop on the nearest long skip to Northrend. Savor your victory, hero… while you still can.

Orc Shoulders appear to have been fixed in Dragonflight Alpha. On retail, there's a visible gap between shoulders and arms which has been removed on the Alpha.
Reddit user TehWurrior posted a side-by-side comparison of the fix. Notice the removed gap between the fur and shoulders in the second to last image.
