Mechagnome Customization and Transmog Limitations

Recommended Posts

Mechagnomes, on top of having limited customization options, also come with transmog restrictions that you should be aware of before creating one in Patch 8.3.

Transmog Restrictions

If you plan on creating a Mechagnome, note that you won't be able to transmog Wrist, Hand, and Feet slots, because their modifications cannot be covered by armor.

The Legs slot is also somewhat limited because it does not cover up the limbs and Redditor EntropicReaver compared most of the armor to diapers

Except for their Heritage Armor, which looks cool, because it's designed around the modifications, most of the armor looks incomplete on Mechagnomes.

Customization Options

Mechagnome modifications can't be covered up by armor, and you'd think there would be at least a toggle to turn that on and off or perhaps more customization options available to the Allied Race to make up for it.

Unfortunately, Mechagnomes only have four Arm Upgrade and two Leg Upgrade options this late in the cycle, and we don't know if they plan to ship more with the release of Patch 8.3 in early 2020.

Will you be creating a Mechagnome despite the limitations? Let us know in the comments down below!

I really hope Blizzard overcompensates those transmog limitations by giving MORE character creation customizations. It is only fair to do so. Because those mechanical arms and legs are pretty damn cool on their own. Maybe transmogs should allow to apply different tints on the mechanical arms and legs, at the very least.

Did a quick edit on Photoshop with an example.

If they dont allow for more colors to be vailable, i think i would be forced taking the dark/rusty iron all the time, for it to look good in most "realistic" looking transmogs that i like.

Thanks for the display, how much better it can look ?

This is....rather disappointing. Like I understand it to some degree, but it's bad enough they're not getting a lot of customization as is.

All of 10 people who main gnomes are going to be disappointed.

Gnome is the best race. If you roll a Warrior and it's not a Gnome, something is wrong.

Laugh now, but even after nerfs those racials are still OP for raiding.   Not staggeringly stupidly so as when it was +400 to all stats, but still pretty good at 120+ stats, a good dps cooldown in holograms and a good auto-save.

Honestly mechagnome should have just been customization options added to gnomes after completing some content in mechagon, similar to how night warriors work. They're the exact same race of gnome that came from Gnomeregan, they've just customized themselves.

Learn more about the Matrix Catalyst in the War Within that lets you transform non-set items into tier set pieces!
You'll find the Matrix Catalyst in Dornogal, the capital city for both factions.

Nearby, you'll see Custodian Khubon, the Catalyst Steward for the expansion.
You can ask him about the Catalyst, though he's somewhat misguided. He believes the famed titan keepers crafted it, but we've had this for three expansions now, so we know the real story.

To convert a non-set item into a set piece, you must insert an eligible Veteran track or higher Season 1 item, following a structure similar to the previous expansion.

As for catalyst charges,  I think you will get your first charge when Season 1 starts on September 10 and every other week you will receive an additional charge.

Larovus has hit the jackpot for the year! Both the rare Tusks of Mannoroth and the Kor'kron Juggernaut mount dropped from a single Mythic Garrosh kill.
Fortunately, you can now kill Garrosh on a daily basis, but it still requires a lot of luck to loot both items simultaneously, as they have a drop rate of about 1%.

Here's a close-up of the loot window. As you can see, Larovus has looted the Tusks of Mannoroth and the Kor'kron Juggernaut mount in one kill.

Have you had any luck with double rare raid drops? Let me know in the comments below!

The War Within Season 1 adds new kiss/curse affixes and here is a spreadsheet with class specializations that will benefit from the kiss portion of each affix.
New Kiss/Curse Affixes in War Within Season 1
Blizzard recently unveiled the following kiss/curse affixes making its way to Mythic+ in Season 1.
Attuned - Non-boss enemies with mana inflict 20% more magic damage, but take 10% increased Nature damage and 30% increased damage from Bleed effects. Focused - Non-boss enemies with mana have 30% increased Haste, but take 10% increased Frost and Fire damage. Reckless - Non-boss enemies without mana ignore 20% armor with their attacks, but their armor is reduced by 30% and they take 10% increased Arcane damage. Thorned - Non-boss enemies without mana inflict Physical damage to their attackers when attacked, but take 10% increased Holy and Shadow damage. Which Classes/Specializations Benefit from the Kiss Portion the Most?
If you read the affix tooltips, it is obvious that some classes will benefit more from their effect. For instance, during Reckless weeks, you want to bring an Arcane Mage, or a Balance Druid, and so forth.
Denethar has created a useful spreadsheet covering which specs benefit from the affixes the most, you can find it here.

The Prismatic Bauble toy is easier to purchase during this month!
Usually, the toy's available for 250,000 gold from the Mad Merchant who doesn't spawn often. However, during Pride Month, you can purchase Prismatic Bauble directly from Jepetto Joybuzz in Legion Dalaran, avoiding the long wait.
The toy will still cost 250,000 Gold, though. You can find Jepetto Joybuzz at the Dalaran Toyworks.

      Happy Pride Month!

Find out how fast you can level from 10 to 70 in the War Within pre-patch after the recent XP nerfs!

Experience the New XP Changes in the War Within Pre-Patch
Starting in the War Within pre-patch, leveling from 10 to 70 now requires 54% less experience compared to retail. This means faster progression and a more streamlined gameplay experience. For an in-depth look at these changes, check out our detailed article on big XP requirement nerfs.
Speed Leveling to 70: A Case Study
MrGM managed to level from 10 to 70 in just 10 hours and 2 minutes of /played time by following the Dragon Isles Campaign and completing side quests. The leveling pace felt balanced overall but accelerated significantly from levels 50 to 70. By the end, MrGM’s character had Item Level of 322 gear and nearly 8,000 Gold.
MrGM turned on War Mode for an extra 10% XP and another 5% came from the Warband achievement (Five Warband Mentors: The War Within). For each Level 80 char, your alts will receive 5% extra XP, up to 25%.
