Winds of Wisdom Double XP Buff Now Active

Recommended Posts

It's time for some alt leveling as most of us are staying inside for a while and Blizzard are giving us double XP through April 20th! With the new sort-of account-wide essence system and Horrific Visions always corrupting rewards it's the best time to get your alts up to date and this huge XP buff will help you out or even get you to roll some new characters and check out some classes you haven't played!

You don't even need to have BfA for the buff to work, as it applies to Legion (which you get by just paying a sub) as well as the Starter Edition.

If you’re staying inside and find yourself returning to Azeroth, or if you’re leveling another character (or two), you’ll be getting a special bonus to help you on your way. Beginning today through April 20, 2020 all players in Battle for Azeroth will gain an experience buff called “Winds of Wisdom” which will increase experience gains by 100%! (This includes Starter Edition and Legion players as well.)

Players will also be able to take advantage of this experience boost while still using their favorite heirlooms. It won’t take long before you’ll be facing off with the Old God N’Zoth and his minions in Ny’alotha, the Waking City.

Well maybe I'll start leveling the Vulpera Shaman a bit more on the weekends now.  Work has been rather sporadic and my hours per day/week vary due to the Corona virus.   We have already seen an incline of cancellations from animal boarding along with surgical procedures for the next 3-6 weeks out.  ( I work as a surgical assistant for a large/small animal hospital)

Does this stack with warmode & the Draught potion from service medals?

it does stack but it goes like this,

all boosts only go off of normal xp so a 20k xp quest is 40k xp with the 100% boost stack on warmode 10% (Horde) its only an extra 10% off the 20k not the 40k so only 42k all boost stack its just only on the default quest xp (i.e i had warmode, potion, monk buff and wisdom on and they all stacked for some super nice xp)

It does seem to stack with other XP boosting, but does not seem to stack really....

I used an Elixir of the Rapid Mind, and instead of getting the 300% extra bonus, it only doubled.

So, it does not nullify other XP boosts, but it does seem to lessen them notably!!

Reddit user Mothka continues with the theme of animals in World of Warcraft, and this time, we have notable Battle for Azeroth quest givers transformed into various beasts. Can you guess who's who?

Now's the time to check your answers!
How many NPCs did you guess correctly?

Rextroy is back after a bit of a soloing absence, and he's gotten some gear ready in 8.3 - so naturally it was time to head into the current raid and solo a boss! Prophet Skitra is the second or third boss of the raid, depending on whether you pick her or Maut after Wrathion, and in this World First video we get a little extra explanation on how he did it by Rextroy (head to 5:36 in the video for that part).

You can also check out our in-depth interview with the man himself, as he goes over some of his more controversial tactics and discusses the difference between an exploit and creative use of game mechanics, as he had a bit of experience with the subject after being banned and unbanned for a solo kill he did (the 0.5 second Vectis kill).

There are some pretty cool discoveries he had to make about the boss mechanics to pull it off so it's definitely worth a watch:

Starting with next week's reset (March 31st/April 1st), all Legion instances will be getting legacy loot rules, aka more loot drops for when there's fewer players. This means you'll be getting random loot not specific to your class, but there will be plenty more of it for those transmog runs.

Check out the full explanation below:
      Legion Legacy Loot (source)
With scheduled weekly maintenance the week of March 31, we’re enabling Legacy loot rules in Legion raids and dungeons.
We’re reached that point in an expansion where the content from the previous expansion no longer requires a full group, and the rewards are primarily sought by transmog collectors. With this change, Legion raid and dungeon encounters will drop a fixed quantity of class-agnostic loot. Today, if you and one other player enter Emerald Nightmare on Mythic difficulty and kill Nythendra, it’s unlikely that you’ll receive any loot, since drop rates normally scale to the number of players. After this change, Nythendra will always drop 5 items from her loot table, regardless of your group size.
Dungeons and many of the lower-difficulty raid bosses in Legion are already soloable by well-equipped Battle for Azeroth characters, though some bosses, especially on Mythic difficulty, may still require you to bring a few friends. Nonetheless, this should amount to a great increase in the availability of Legion transmog gear.
      See you there!
