Updated Skyboxes for Capital Cities (Fan Art)

Recommended Posts

bnStLF0.jpg

Silverleaf2520 took some time out to cut together a whole bunch of skybox upgrades for the old capitals, with Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Ironforge, Thunder Bluff, Silvermoon and the Exodar getting some new skies! There have been plenty of skybox upgrade suggestions over the years but these present a nice overview of the ways the various locations could be improved. While Ironforge is a weird choice for skybox, it definitely gains the most out of these enhancements, but they're all pretty impressive.

I can honestly tell you in the years I played WoW I never thought of the sky.

I will tell you I miss the night a whole lot.

Everyone on the Oceanic servers are quite the opposite. We miss the day. We "share time" with the North American servers so our days are nights and nights are days.

I've been wanting something like this for a long time. If they ever do it, I hope they also replace the night sky with the one from Highmountain.

As someone in NZ - absolutely miss "the day" in WoW.

Another case where, if i were in charge, I'd ask the artist "hey, would you like your artwork featured in the game?"

Its literally free labor.  and it looks solid!

The Bursting and Volcanic Mythic Keystone Affixes have both been buffed on the Alpha. Read on to find out what's changing.
      Bursting
Bursting now causes a flat amount of damage, regardless of player health (thanks @Syridian) and Burst has been changed to a Magic Effect, so it is now dispellable.
New Version: Burst (Magic Effect) - Upon death, the creature Bursts, inflicting 3 Shadow damage every second. This effect stacks. Old Version: Burst - Upon death, the creature Bursts, inflicting damage equal to 3.5% of maximum health every second. This effect stacks Volcanic
Blizzard probably thought the affix was too weak and could easily be ignored, so they buffed it to knock players high into the air, so now, you will need to pay attention and avoid it rather than ignoring it.
New Version: Volcanic Plume - Inflicts Fire damage to players within 2 yards and knocks them high into the air. Old Version: Volcanic Plume - Deals Fire damage equal to 40% target's health to enemies within a 2-yard radius. The third affix that changed the Alpha was Tyrannical, which no longer affects boss mobs.

Here come the warlocks, as today's class changes continue. We have all three specs getting some changes, with Destro seemingly getting the biggest.
      July 8 (source)
Thanks for all of the detailed feedback! While there are still some planned changes coming for Warlock, we’ve made a few recently that you should be seeing in the Alpha:
      Affliction
Agony base damage increased by 12%. Inevitable Demise increases Drain Life ’s damage by 12% per stack (was 5%). Demonology
Axe Toss now interrupts stun immune targets, such as dungeon or raid bosses. This does not affect PvP combat. Destruction
Soulfire damage increased by 40%. Infernals summoned from Rain of Chaos no longer trigger Infernal Awakening . Rain of Chaos Infernals now have some bad luck protection built in. Chance also increased to 20% (was 15%). Header image source.

Demon Hunters join the July 8th class change party, but they get the fewest changes so far, with only Unbound Chaos getting tweaked.
      July 8 (source)
In the next Alpha build, we’ve made this change to Unbound Chaos :
Activating Immolation Aura will cause your inner demon to slam into nearby enemies at the end of your next Fel Rush , dealing Chaos damage. Developers’ notes: We like the feeling of Immolation Aura empowering your Fel Rush, but requiring Fel Rush to be cast while Immolation Aura was active placed too much pressure on that particular window. We want this talent to be for occasionally weaving Fel Rush into your rotation for a big payoff, so we’ve changed the talent to Immolation Aura buffing your next Fel Rush, which means you can find the right time to fit it in.
