Make WoW Look Like a Painting Without Any Mods

Recommended Posts

We have some more art-related content, but this time around it's not just fans painting their favorite characters, but actually transforming WoW into a painting - and without using any mod! Now, there's plenty of mods already out there that you can use to change the game's aesthetics, but with Blizzard's recent tightening of EULA enforcement, it could possibly be risky using some of them (although they've been mostly safe to use so far).

This one requires an Nvdia card and is much, much easier than putting a mod in, you just need the Geforce app and to click a few things, and your game could be looking like this (just click on the image and the video will play):

As noted by the poster, kathrad_, this also messes with the UI, so you're either going to have to just use it to marvel at the visuals around the world, or be really good with your spec rotation, as you won't really be seeing much of the UI. Also, perhaps don't go raiding or doing high M+ keys, as ground effects and similar probably won't be as noticeable.

If you have an Nvidia graphics card, this effect is available by pressing Alt+F3 (Don't accidentally close the game!). Change the style to 1 and add "Painterly" filter.

This is pretty costly in terms of performance. It makes my 980 noticeably louder and halves the frame rate. Also, you can't really play the game like this since it affects the UI too. All text becomes unreadable

Interestingly, there are plenty of people in the reddit thread that actually didn't note the difference in the look of the game, saying that the above just looks like regular Darnassus! I guess it's been on fire for so long people have a very painterly memory of the once Night Elf capital.

If you have some great mods that alter the game's look, share em below and let's see just how much WoW can be changed.

While there is a macro and addons that allow you to display the Great Vault UI anywhere in the open world, Blizzard implemented a simple button that allows you to preview rewards from the Great Vault anywhere in Patch 9.0.5.
The button is found in the PvP interface that you can access by pressing "H".

They also added the button to the Dungeons tab, but you must complete at least 1 Mythic Dungeon to see it.

The maker of the awesome Castle Pineapplia is back with a new browser game, but this one focuses on your dodging specific abilities!
The Pineapple Training Grounds lets you choose between Sire Denathrius' Massacre, Shriekwing's Echoing Screech and one Mythic+ mechanic, Dark Bolt from the Ventunax encounter in Spires of Ascension. You'll obviously be controlling the pineapple again and dodging the mechanics to get you ready for when you run into them in actual WoW:

      That is one dead pineapple.
Here are some comments from the creator:
It's definitely worth a try, especially on Insane difficulty, so check it out here.

If you have a ton of alts you want to try out and don't feel like putting in too much effort, here's a not too slow and very easy way to get from 50 to 60!
MoffiSlayer found a spot in Ardenweald where you can easily 3-button chill farm player XP via a pet battle, but you might need the Iron Starlette and some pet bandages. It's probably doable with  other pets as well, but this one gets the job done in 2 rounds, so it's the optimal choice. It's a pretty good option if you have something else to do/watch a show or movie, or even at work as some players noted (via remote desktop tools and similar), as it's a very brainless side-activity.   This will earn you about 195K XP per hour, so you'll need about 14-15 hours to get from 50 to 60, which actually isn't that bad at all considering the regular way will probably take about 10 for a relatively chill playthrough, except that requires actual focus.  The pet battle is located in Ardenweald at 40, 64.4.

The eleventh week of Shadowlands Season 1 has ended, and after 2 weeks, we looked at the most popular tanks and healers for Mythic+.
Earlier in the week, we also looked at the most popular DPS specializations for Mythic+.
      This Week's Affixes
Tyrannical Raging Quaking Prideful Data Reliability
The data used in this article comes from benched.me and is updated every hour. Reddit user OtherwiseUniversity7, the site's author, plotted all keys available from the Blizzard API (excluding the CN region) on a single ridge plot to gather all the information.
      Total Runs Recorded
Here we have the total runs recorded for each tank and healer specialization after 12 weeks of Mythic Season 1. Based on the data, we filter out the most popular tanks and healers in Mythic+.

      Most Popular Tanks for Mythic+
Vengeance Demon Hunter remains the most popular tank for Mythic+ multiple weeks in a row with more than 3.7 million runs. Protection Paladin is second with 2.8 million runs. Brewmaster Monk is third with 1.38 million runs. The least popular tank spec is Protection Warrior.
      1st: Vengeance Demon Hunter - 3,720,085 runs 2nd: Protection Paladin - 2,862,188 runs 3rd: Brewmaster Monk - 1,381,771 runs 4th: Guardian Druid - 1,355,591 runs 5th: Blood Death Knight - 1,253,296 runs 6th: Protection Warrior - 756,268 runs Detailed Look at Spec Performance
Here is a visual representation of the share of tanking specializations at each keystone level. The meta starts kicking in at Mythic+16, where most specializations begin losing their share of representation to the meta-classes.

Share of Tank Specializations in Weekly Top 500 Runs
To observe meta shifts throughout the season, we sample the top 500 runs for each dungeon (a total of 6K keys) for each week. We then count the number of times each specialization appears in the weekly top 500 sample.

      Most Popular Healers for Mythic+
Restoration Druid is no longer the most popular healer for Mythic+. They got overrun by Restoration Shaman with 3.174 million runs, and albeit the difference between 1st and 2nd place is just a measly 70K runs, it's nice to see a class other than Druid first. Holy Paladin remains third, and the rest is pretty much unchanged, with Mistweaver Monk as the least popular healer.
      1st: Restoration Shaman - 3,174,079 runs 2nd: Restoration Druid - 3,105,489 runs 3rd: Holy Paladin - 1,873,967 runs 4th: Discipline Priest - 1,351,766 runs 5th: Holy Priest - 1,086,248 runs 6th: Mistweaver Monk - 730,933 runs Detailed Look at Spec Performance
Here's a visual representation of the share of healer specializations at each keystone level.

Share of Healer Specializations in Weekly Top 500 Runs
The meta is really stable within a single patch, and spec representation within the top 500 barely changes. The data has a zig-zag trend. Spec numbers, mostly the top specs, go up and down each week due to the Tyrannical/Fortified split.
On Tyrannical weeks, top pushers bench their meta-class mains and play non-meta alts, or don't play at all. As a result, the share of meta specializations in the top 500 drops on Tyrannical weeks. Similarly, the share of meta specializations rises to its max during push weeks.
