WoW cosmology : unexplainable things / possible errors

Recommended Posts

Dear Blizzard / Chris Metzen / Lorekeepers,

After giving 14+ years to WoW. all i have to say is "Wow, what a journey it has been !!"

Thank you for the wonderful book called Chronicle 1 that has a lot of stories that we already appreciated in the novels and other wow literature published earlier and much much more.

I am here to report a rather curious anomaly that I found rather strange. In your page no. 8 (Chronicle 1) Chart that illustrates Introduction to Cosmology, I found something inexplicable.

Existing chart of WoW Cosmology

If I consider Holy (Light) to be North (The Naaru) and Shadow Void (Shadow) to be the South (Void Lords), Nature-Wild Golds appears on the North West ( Life) while Fel- Burning Legion is appearing on the North west (Disorder). Check the attached image

Conflicting positions in WoW Cosmology chart

WHAT I PROPOSE:-

I propose that the inner circle (Life-Disorder-Death-Order) and corresponding inner details be rotated clockwise by 90 degrees to make more sense. In this way, negative forces will stay close to the South (Void-death- Fel) and positive will stay grouped towards the North (Life-Light-Arcane). Order-Arcane-The Titans to North-West of the Cosmology chart and Life-Nature-Wild Gods to North east of the chart. Similarly. Death-Necromantic-Undead will move towards South West and Disorder-Fel-The Burning Legion would appear South East.

Proposed WoW Cosmology chart

ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW COSMOLOGY PROPOSAL

The advantages of this arrangement is as follows:-

  1. there is no change on the lore or the wow world at all.

  2. archenemies stay polar opposite to each other similar to the existing chart

  3. the positive sides (Order-arcane-titans) and (Life-Nature-wild Gods) stay close to positive side of things aka North (Light-Holy-The Naaru) and similarly negative forces (Death-Necromantic-Undead) and (Disorder-Fel-The Burning Legion) will stay close to the negative side of things aka South ((Shadow-Shadow void- The Void Lords).

  4. If modified accordingly, the entire chart including the deep interiors (fire-spirit-water-spirit- earth-decay-air), will start to make more sense.

  5. Life and Necromantic remain polar opposite to each other as destined.. and so on.

  6. Similarly, the elements: spirit, fire, air, decay, earth and water may also rotate by 90 degrees clockwise and stay with their native category as designed.

If Blizzard and Loremakers, do not agree with this arrangement, I will look forward to their comments and a reasoning to keep Fel-The burning Legion-Disorder close to the Light side (North) and vice versa.

I made this post in WoW community forums too. You can find it here

Thanks and Happy gaming.

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?
