Following the tragic passing of Reckful, thousands of players paid tribute to the streamer in-game on almost all servers and Redditor Alyvidy shared a video of the Stormwind Cathedral filled with Alliance and Horde players and captured how genuine and caring the WoW community is.

I really hate this kind of stuff, I'm sorry to be an asshole, but it's not when someone is dead that you show them love, it's when they were in distress that you had to show them they matter..

I think, in part, something like this is done to show EACH OTHER love as well. I'm certain that a lot of people recognized their own struggles when they heard the news, and logging in to see an entire community of people caring is an important reminder that there is always someone to turn to.

A lot of times they were shown that kind of love and outpouring in life but it didn't matter.

This is absolute bullshit though. I know this is gonna be taken incredibly negative, but it's disgusting to see so many people please their own god damn ego by doing the "look at me, I care!" march on social medias and everywhere else online today.
People that dont even know who he was have been joining this campaign! What kind of sick behaviour is that? Would you want strangers that didn't even know your dead friend at his funeral? No of course not?

Absolutely 100% correct. The game was designed to have pvp in faction capital cities. If you don't want to be disturbed with that, go to a neutral sanctuary or get some guards. Anyone who abused the report mechanic to ban people for perfectly legitimate gameplay should be banned.

Never heard about this guy before, but I agree with people here being critical of this "tribute". He obviously needed some help, yet people remembered him only after he died. If they really cared, they should have organized something while he was still alive. Now it comes as very shallow, nothing else.

There is a difference between someone that does that because they want to play and actually pvp in those situations but all we've met were people that were doing this on purpose and saying stuff like thank fk he's dead and all kind of *filtered* like it, I assure you there was no genuine person that was doing that.

You should get informed better before commenting such thing, if you read statements from his roommate and his gf/ex-gf and friends you'd see that's not the case.

There's not really much someone from the internet could've done if people that were watching him couldn't. Yes, there are some people that just 'show off' with this, but in my case for example I've always sent positive vibes and been in his stream for the past 7-8 years. We do not have control over such things. If you could blame anything it's the twitter people that sent him hate and probs made him feel very bad during & after his manic episode then also said that they care and insta deleting their hateful comments.
