Next Shadowlands Mount Poll Results: September 15th

Recommended Posts

Blizzard started a poll and announced they would create the next Shadowlands mount based on community feedback, and the poll ends in 3 days, so we're looking at the current results in the US region.

Total voters: 141,351

  • 1st place: Wandering Ancient (34%);
  • 2nd place: Gooey Slimesaber (20%);
  • 3rd place: Curious Caterpillar (20%);
  • 4th place: Soaring Spelltome (17%);
  • 5th place: Nerubian Swarmer (9%).

The current winner's the Wandering Ancient with 34%, and we have bad news for you if you wanted to see the Nerubian or Spelltome mount; both occupy the 4th and 5th place, and you only have until September 18 to vote, so it's very unlikely anything will change there.

The slime cat and caterpillar are at places 2 and 3, respectively, with 20%, and the Ancient is ahead by 14%, so we may very well be looking at our winner there.

Here are the poll results taken from Reddit.

If you don't like the ancient but voted for one of the lower options now is a good time to swap your vote to whatever is highest that you like so we have even a tiny chance of unseating the ancient

bueh... another mount that is to big and no one is going to use. literally every other option is better... sigh...
i know, i know, size matters. but it's gonna be so big, it'll be just impractical ? trust me, i know what i speak about ?

Yeesssss. I'm glad this mount is winning. I'd be pretty PISSED OFF if the Gooey Slimesaber won. This game already has way too many saber reskins.

My vote went to the Soaring Spelltome, but it was obvious on day one that tree was going to win. Tome seemed interesting, although I wasn't certain if it wouldn't end up as another platform mount. I hope tree isn't going to be one of those either, like they did with other elemental mounts. Would rather have character sitting on it.

      The past few days saw US senator Bernie Sanders get inserted into all kinda of games, as his inauguration ceremony look hit a cord with the gaming community, and WoW got its own versions of the meme!
      First off, the general concept, as demonstrated in Skyrim:

      You can check out some more general gaming ones over at PC Gamer, but now we're on to the awesome WoW ones, some even retweeted by Blizzard staff! As you can imagine, there's a perfect fit for the pose in WoW:

      The devs even got in on the action, as the Lead Narrative Designer took a shot:
      But it's not just the big lore characters that got the treatment, as this Alliance Warfront NPC found out:

      And, as you'd imagine, any sitting context works with the meme, so here's Bernie again, as he apparently also just got out of Torghast:

      But WoW wasn't the only Blizzard franchise to get hit either:

      So what did you think of the latest meme craze to hit the gaming world?

      Covenant Adventures come with a catch-up system for Followers if they fall behind with XP.
      If you switch Covenants and fall behind with the Mission Table and Follower Experience, you will have a chance to receive a Mission that rewards Grimoire of Knowledge. The item can be used to grant your Follower anywhere from 2,400 to 6,000 XP if you complete it.
      Not much is currently known about the catch-up system and the thresholds that trigger it, but multiple versions of the catch-up grimoire have been added in Shadowlands:
      Grimoire of Knowledge - Grants 2,400 XP. Grimoire of Knowledge - Grants 3,600 XP. Grimoire of Knowledge - Grants 5,000 XP. Grimoire of Knowledge - Grants 6,000 XP.

      It's time to look at the most popular tanks and healers for Mythic+ in the seventh week of Season 1.
      We also looked at the most popular DPS for Mythic+ and Spec Tier Lists recently.
      Data Reliability
      The data used in this article comes from benched.me. Reddit user OtherwiseUniversity7 plotted all keys available from the Blizzard API (excluding the CN region) on a single ridge plot to make this happen.
      This Week's Affixes
      We've seen multiple successful Mythic+23 clears this week. You can find more details here.
      Fortified Spiteful Volcanic Prideful Total Runs Recorded
      Here we have the total runs recorded for each tank and healer specialization after 7 weeks of Mythic Season 1. Based on the data, we filter out the most popular tanks and healers in Mythic+.

      Most Popular Tanks for Mythic+
      Vengeance Demon Hunters have surpassed 2 million runs in Season 1, and they are the most popular tanks for Mythic+, followed by Protection Paladins and Brewmaster Monks. The least popular tank specialization is Protection Warrior.
      1st: Vengeance Demon Hunter - 2,226,655 runs 2nd: Protection Paladin - 1,952,672 runs 3rd: Brewmaster Monk - 946,656 runs 4th: Blood Death Knight - 882,034 runs 5th: Guardian Druid - 848,362 runs 6th: Protection Warrior: 528,703 runs Detailed Look at Spec Performance
      Here is a visual representation of the share of tanking specializations at each keystone level. The meta starts kicking in at Mythic+16, where most specializations begin losing their share of representation to the meta-classes.

      Share of Tank Specializations in Weekly Top 500 Runs
      To observe meta shifts throughout the season, we sample the top 500 runs for each dungeon (a total of 6K keys) for each week. We then count the number of times each specialization appears in the weekly top 500 sample.

      Most Popular Healers for Mythic+
      Restoration Druids gained +244K runs this week and remain the most popular healing spec for Mythic+. In 2nd place, we've got Restoration Shamans with +286K runs compared to last week. Third are Holy Paladins. The least popular healers are Mistweaver Monks.
      1st: Restoration Druid - 2,170,770 runs 2nd: Restoration Shaman - 1,971,637 runs 3rd: Holy Paladin - 1,127,340 runs 4th: Discipline Priest - 891,207 runs 5th: Holy Priest - 708,944 runs 6th: Mistweaver Monk - 509,956 runs Detailed Look at Spec Performance
      Here's a visual representation of the share of healer specializations at each keystone level.

      Share of Healer Specializations in Weekly Top 500 Runs
      The meta is really stable within a single patch, and spec representation within the top 500 barely changes. The data has a zig-zag trend. Spec numbers, especially the top specs, go up and down each week due to the Tyrannical/Fortified split.
      On Tyrannical weeks, top pushers bench their meta-class mains and play non-meta alts, or don't play at all. As a result, the share of meta specializations in the top 500 drops on Tyrannical weeks. Similarly, the share of meta specializations rises to its max during push weeks.

      We've been following SnazzyAI's upscales for quite a while now and here comes the culmination of all that WoW-related work as we have all the expansion intro cinematics in one place and highly improved!
      0:10 Vanilla WoW
      2:56 Burning Crusade
      5:53 Wrath of the Lich King
      9:13 Cataclysm
      11:32 Mists of Pandaria
      15:16 Warlords of Draenor
      19:28 Legion
      23:07 Battle for Azeroth
      27:17 Shadowlands
      The 48 FPS upgrade especially makes the action scenes and animations a lot more fluid, but some still prefer the 24 frame originals. In any case these are some really impressive improvements, and we finally have them all in one place, so thanks to SnazzyAI!
