Heart of Darkness Azerite Power Provides a Flat Secondary-Stat Increase in Shadowlands

Recommended Posts

We thought the Heart of DarknessHeart of Darkness Azerite trait would be useless with the removal of the Corruption system in the Shadowlands pre-patch, but Blizzard changed the trait to provide a flat secondary-stat increase in the latest PTR build.

  • Heart of DarknessHeart of Darkness (Old) - Your secondary stats are all increased by 0 while your Corruption Level is 25 or higher.
  • Heart of DarknessHeart of Darkness (New) - Your secondary stats are all increased by 0 while your Corruption Level is 25 or higher.

The tooltip difference means it will always increase your secondary stats even without the Corruption system, so there's no need to farm other Azerite Armor pieces if you are still working on Mythic N'Zoth!

If the Corruption system is being removed how does this survive? And if it isn't being removed enitrely, why have I been operating under the stated understanding that it will be removed? FFS...aren't there already enough things to legitimately gripe about with the SL design? Do I begin to smell another "let's cut short this expansion and ramp up the next" move?

It will be removed. The red text on the second tooltip indicates the text being cut. (I had to come puzzle it out because my feed reader didn't show the text color.) Or was there something else that didn't make sense?

It's literally a stopgap fix for corruption being removed in prepatch so you aren't buggered out of your BiS setups, they did something nice for once.

Stepping away from the pre-patch for a little, let's remind ourselves there's still this big thing called Shadowlands looming ahead! And what better way to do that than with some insanely impressive renditions of the Covenant insignias. Nathanj has put a lot of effort into these creations and it shows, as each has a lot of detail and so clearly embodies the Covenants themselves.
Make sure to click through the gallery below to see each individual insignia in its full glory, created only using Photoshop.

This particular Covenant choice won't come with any limitations, so which one is your favorite?
